What a cutie! I had a cat once who was starved and tortured during her first eight months. As a result, she weighed only two pounds when I liberated her (okay, I'll admit it. l saw her leaving bloody footprints in the snow. When I saw the razor blade cuts I all four pads, I stuffed her in my hoodie and ran home. I stole what I thought was a very young kitten).
I realized when I got home that the little kitten had no whiskers. Our vet confirmed that they had been pulled out by some cruel person. All four paws were marked with an "x" and she was very small.
I immediately called the vet and the kitten was rushed in at once. The vet had a few unkind things to say about whoever tortured the little kitten and asked where I got her. I refused to say because I didn't want to be forced to give her back. I know now that I should have told her where I found her, as that monster probably just found another animal to torture.
The vets examination showed that the little girl kitty was no kitten. She had all her adult teeth, meaning that the two pound cat I'd rescued was eight months old!
We named her Katie, after Katherine Hepburn, a born fighter if we ever knew of one. Katie quickly gained two pounds on a high protein diet, but she never weighed more than four pounds.
Katie was half the size of our tabby cats and a quarter of the size of our Norwegian Forest cat. She was a perfectly proportioned miniature cat, but she thought she was the size of a lion! She never just walked anywhere. Katie STOMPED! When your were downstairs, you would think someone was walking about upstairs, but it was just Katie. She never understood why she couldn't sneak up on her brothers!
Our little survivor lived to be nineteen years old, but died when the flea treatment she had received overwhelmed her liver's function.
Katie died in my arms, lifting her tiny paw to touch my tear-stained face and softly saying "Mama!" for the last time. She just went to sleep on her own. It's been over twelve years since that day, yet even as I type, my tears are falling for Katie. She was one of a kind.
She sleeps beneath the dogwood tree in our yard and each spring, Katie comes back to me in the profusion of blossoms it bears.

Posts like these make me want to write off humanity as a total loss, but then restore my faith in people again because there are rescuers like you.
Some people are so messed up, miserable, heartless, etc. that they just don't even see life as having any value or meaning. It's like they think the whole world is some game and the most interesting thing for them to do is be horrible in it. I hope people like that face repercussions somehow, either in this life or the next.
Maybe people who torment animals will have to live through some kind of purgatory where they themselves are an animal. Over a period of time these monsters might grow a soul.
Cats though, they go straight to heaven.

😂Me too! We had a chihuahua that had been in a wire cage the 1st 6 months of his life. He was very needy. I had him in a sling on my chest until he felt secure. He was tiny.❤

You might be surprised at her longevity and I hope you are blessed with her for a long time. I had a dog with severe Albinism. We were told to expect a much shortened life but she outlived her brother and lived to 13.5 years.

Not if the owners start falling on hard times which in today’s terrible economy is very possible . If only positive thoughts actually paid the bills and for all life’s necessities .
@@SleeplessinOC It's all uniquely situational of course, and some don't care enough to go above and beyond for their furry family members but, I'm on seriously hard times and manage to take care of my 3 cats because of how I manage what little I have. It's not a terribly pleasant way for me to live, but it does give me piece of mind that they're well looked after. I'd like to think there are many out there who are doing the same.

Hope the girl lives well and as long as possible. My third cat doesn't have dwarfism but I had to make sure I fed her all the food she enjoyed and do what I could to grow as tinier animals do not live long. Took her in when she was around three months old. She is the cat that presented health issues with reverse sneezing, I thought she had asthma for a while. The vet said otherwise. She is sweet but super angry at the same time, her mood swings are legendary.
