This story perfectly captures what I love about Spider-Man. It’s so genuine and heartfelt. Peter is a good guy but his life as Spider-Man gets in the way when he’s trying to just make some friends. Peter is remembering someone that means the world to him because every time Valentines Day rolls around he thinks of her Gwen Stacy.
If there is ANY comic I recommend to friends who like Spider-Man, it’s typically things like the lee/ditko/romita run, Kraven’s Last Hunt, and Life Story. Spider-Man Blue though always, ALWAYS manages to sneak it’s way as a recommendation because it is one of my favorite stories taking place in the era where life felt pretty “comfortable” for Peter. Harry, MJ, Gwen and even the start of Flash’s friendship with Peter. The Loeb and Sale are fantastic as a duo and this book introduced me to the really lovely style of Tim Sale. Shoutouts to this book for making me listen to My Funny Valentine as a wee lad. That’s basically what I consider to be this run’s song.
Yup. Whenever I reccomend a friend who wants to get into Spider-Man comics, I reccomend the Ultimate Spider-Man run (2000) if they want a long, serialised story. I just warn them that it’s an alternative universe but still very much gets the essence of Spider-Man Spider-Man blue. Just a classic story with gorgeous art that just transports you back in time. Kravens last hunt. I then reccomend them random arcs if they enjoyed reading Spider-Man. And I always tell them to end with Spider-Man life story. Maybe after giving them a brief rundown of the basic Spider-Man history.
Ahh i remembered casually buying it ...not aware of what's to come...and i read it that night itself ...After flipping the final page ...I grew to love Gwen even more (I do not hate MJ ) and after all that....I was in my bed..thinking back ...crying on the inside.....such a good story...everytime I re read it always hits the same way.
If I were ever to get the opportunity to make my own spidey film I’d definitely adapt Spider-Man blue alongside ultimate Spider-Man. One is great at focusing on Peter and his relationships, and the other is good at documenting some of his early days as Spider-Man
Ello, ello! Sorry if I sound a little off in this one, I've been working through a cold the last few days. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
YOU Genuinely are AMAZING MAN, fantastic channel, YOU WILL GROW!!!
Could you elaborate or apologize for the insult you threw at a dead man at 6:49?
Very un-Spider-Man of you, man
@@wildcrochunter6724 it wasn’t an insult, it wasn’t in bad taste, chill bro.
@@The_Spider_Editz how is it not, just so I understand
Ah yes, Spider-Man Blue a classic comic whenever I want to see some old Gwen and Pete stories and also romance-

Minor correction, issue #47 revealed that Osborn hired Kraven in the earlier story. #MarvelNoPrize
Such a beautiful Spider-Man story. Shame it isn't very easy to find.

Desperately needs a paperback reprint
You’d be happy because now it has a proper animated adaptation
