ItsSuperEffective please go through some YJ stories I absolutely love that comic run and it’s a shame it hasn’t been picked up again (excluding the tv show cause...ew)
Hey I just wanted to ask you how would you set up a Judas Contract movie in a trilogy? you don't have to answer if you don't want to, just wanted to ask.
I actually started reading "The New Teen Titans" (from the 80's) and I really love it. My first introduction into super hero stuff was The Teen Titans Tv show. Despite me being unfamiliar with comics I was able to pick up The New Teen Titans and enjoy it. I definitely recommend it, I love it so much! The New Teen Titans was the catalyst which got me into other comics and characters. :)
I grew up on the 2000s cartoon, loved it, but didn't grow up reading comics. So when I finally really got into reading comics, I read the New Teen Titans. Yes, it has a very different tone from the cartoon, but it seemed like the natural choice since it's where a bunch of the main cast from the cartoon was first introduced and the cartoon's more serious storylines drew from that run. I enjoyed it a lot, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who similarly grew up with the cartoon and remembers it for its more dramatic storylines.
I finally found you. It's been 4 years since I last been on your channel and I found one of your old vids in my history. I always see Comicstorian (might have spelled that wrong), Comicsexplained, Sage Comics and Variant but not you which was weird considering you used to and still do comic reviews. I'm glad I found you again and I'm looking forward to your future vids. Keep up the hard work man!
I freaking love your Teen Tians videos. I own all of the 2003 run and I read through it twice and I'm gonna do it again. I'm reading the current titan books, the team changes for Titans are dope but for the Teen Titans not so great, I'm mainly referring to the new characters but I'll see how their interactions will go
Don't forget, when the New Teen Titans was made, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg were all new characters! It makes sense to make new characters for a Titans run!!
I really love your videos, it's probably because you're so honest and present not only your opinions but also as you said the intended message the comics were supposed to give during their run. Keep making more awesome videos!!!!
To make a correction at 21:05 The pre-Flashpoint continuity IS canon. That was the point of Rebirth to begin with the merge the Pre and Post-Flashpoint timelines so that they're both canon. So Rebirth Titans is further hammering that in with the Perez book references.
The 2003-2011 run of the Teen Titans was my first experience with the team outside of the cartoon. The time I first got serious about comics was around 2011, meaning that the book was in its last run before the n52. So yeah, I jumped in pretty late, but I did really enjoy JT Krul's run and I still enjoy it now. It was actually this run that introduced me to Rose Wilson and nowadays, she's still one of my favourite comic book characters of all time. Then after the reboot happened, I got the first 25 issues from a comic swap and I just started reading and collecting from there. I've barely looked at the n52 runs before Rebirth. Now I'm following Abnett's Titans, although I don't like the current direction the book and character line-up has been going.
In regards to the 73 cancellation; the later critically acclaimed Denny O’Neil/Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow run was canceled around the same time, maybe it was part of the infamous DC implosion and reorganization of DC. Just a guess
I was surprised you didn't mention Teen Titans: Year One. It's a great way of seeing the Fab Five found the team while also reading something that doesn't feel so dated like the original run. Would you also consider talking about Teen Titans: Earth One? While it isn't at all in continuity with Earth-0, I still really enjoyed a fresh take on the team. Love your videos. Love your love for the Titans! Keep it up!
Sadly I started with the New 52 lol. I hated what they did to Tim Drake and Bart Allen! I didn't even read the last Volume bc I didn't see a point. Then I read Geoff Johns' 2003 run and I fell in love. I am a huge fan of Geoff Johns and his work and this run was no different. I'm still reading through it, I'm on volume... 6 or so I believe, and it's fantastic. I read the first volume of Rebirth Teen Titans and Titans and they were extremely good. If it was up to me, I would say start with Geoff Johns because basically everything the guy does is pretty much gold. Anywho, love your videos Faust, keep it up man! (P.S. Could you do a video on the history of Bart Allen?)
The New 52 Teen Titans was one of the first comics I started reading regularly, so I like it in the sense that it was new-comer friendly and the team members were characters I was really interested in learning about. However, as Faust mentioned, the fizzling out of stories without a conclusion was absolutely terrible. By the end of the first 15 - 20 issues I hate read it. I've never read such consistently bad writing. Lobdell's Rebirth run on Red Hood is great so I wonder if it was editorial or some other factor that really made his tenure on the TT one of the worst I've read?
You’ve mentioned Graduation Day a lot but you’ve never actually spent time talking about it. I’m curious as to what you think of it/ if you’ll do a video on it sometime in the future?
At this point I know it way too well 😂😂 doing so many videos on it has kinda made me go “ok graduation day” and cuz of that I don’t have any strong feelings on the story itself anymore. However, I grew up reading the new Teen Titans, and New Titans (i inherited the entire run when I was a little over 2 years old), so when that series was released and Donna died, I cried, a lot.
The 2003 run is my favorite. I love the Rebirth run so far but I'm a bit confused with what happened to the team with starfire, Raven and beast boy when Damien decides to build a new team from scratch.
I had the chance of watch every DC animated show while i was growing up (Batman, Superman, Justice League, etc) and the funny part is that it wasn't other than the Teen Titans TV show that got me in classic comicbooks reading , maybe because when the 2003 series came out i had no idea of who the characters alongside robin where so i decide to search their information online until i got the name of the series in wich that version of the team was potrayed and i totally fall in love with the 80s run! by the way i don't see the New Teen Titans comicbook as a depressing history, yes it has drama and shocking moments but most of the best parts for me where touching scenes like *Spoiler* beastboy reunited with the old DoomPatrol members, Donna finally finding her adoptive mother and the Nigtwing-Starfire reconciliation, plus i really enjoyed the titans teamwork in each of their battles and the epicness of the Terror of Trigon story arc. (sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native speaker)
The 2003 run was also my first Teen Titans comic (and my first DC comic in general lol)! It was amazing, even though I never finished it. My favorite part of it was seeing more light shed on Bart and his issues, since I hadn’t seen much content covering him before despite him being one of my favorite characters.
I realize it's a 4 year old video. I'll die on this hill though. JT Kruls rul which was cut very short due to Flashpoint was shaping up to be great. Henderson had all bur ruined the book that new run and team of kkeul and Scott had alot of promise. I wish it got a chance.
I actually like the new 52 run. Tim Drake is my favorite Robin so it was cool having him lead the team as Red Robin. I also really liked Bunker, Solstice and Cassie Sandsmark/wonder girl in this run. The story definitely had potential, it just wasn't done as well as it could've been.
Oh my fucking Elvis!!!! I’ve been wanting to read the teen titans comics but I just don’t know where to start! God bless your soul!! I’m very interested in the 1980’s run of the teen titans. Not sure where to find this series but I’ll search.
I believe my first Teen Titans was the DC Digest, which had stories from the original crew and the New Teen Titans. I couldn't pick up the series proper until about issue 12, because access to comics IB that period was something I was just learning, and direct market stores weren't as prevalent. So I'd pick up what I could find on the spinner racks at 7-Eleven and such until I discovered the local monthly comics convention.
The first time I read a Teen Titans story was in the mid nineties. It was the Teen Titans X-Men crossover. The first time I read the Teen Titans at length was a few years ago when I read a good portion of The New Teen Titans in omnibus and the New 52.
Ever since I started watching your videos about 3 years ago you've made me interested in the Titans. Thank you. Also as a fellow male Watcher why haven't you mentioned anything about that twin brother of Wonder Woman Jason. He is such a freaking hunk. The Grail aspect I know in the future is going to be so much drama between him and his sister. But I digress the point is you made me really look into the whole chronology of the Titans and I have been doing that and I thank you, please do more of your bios I miss that.
I am so lost in this whole universe... I wish you listed like, by name the comics in order, would be such a favor so I could read. Thank you for this amazing video ❤️
I actually started on Teen Titans rebirth, which hasn't been too bad of a series, thats not to say, it does have me interested in checking out the older stories before this run, looking forward to the new run of Teen Titans, also thinking of checking out the titans run. On top of that, I hope the Super Sons, team up again in Teen Titans next run.
Pfiffer's n52 teen titans were my BOOS I just adored bunker and beast boy's relationship and there were little bags of potential in every corner. genuinely mourn it all the time, it couldve been great!!
I love the teen titans. I actually just started reading comics after years of liking the movies/tv shows. I started with rebirth and worked backwards to 52 and Geoff J.'s run. I definatley agree the first part of Geoff's run is great and the rebirth with Crush and Emiko are very good. I wish Titans wouldn't have been canceled, I think those characters should take over as the justice league and be the new standard. Truly love that group.
ahhh wonder girl...I like how it was just stated that wonder girl joined the teen titans....when she hadn't ever existed before this XD Yeah, wonder girl wasn't a character until teen titans. there was a wonder girl....but that was a younger version of wonder woman they thought was her sidekick...whoops. Donna troy is....weird. She's gotten her lore rewritten so many times, even hawkman is telling her its getting ridiculous.
Oh well, at least she isnt danny chase, cole, or skitter. I wonder how many people even know who these people are. *Skitter is probably the least well known.....because F**k the culling.*
I really wish they’d finally stick with an origin for her. I mean at least Hawkman has the excuse of being multiple people. Also wish they’d bring back Cole her powers were kinda cool.
I liked Donna's first origin story where Dick helps reunite her with her family. Ever since I found out that got retconned, along with what followed, she was ruined for me. Lost all interest and investment. It sucks she's such a clusterfuck since she has so much history with the team.
This was a great video to wake up to, thanks Faust for making this, I'm still behind on Rebirths Titans though, I need to catch up but school and tests have been slowing the process.
Oh Hell yeah, Rebirth did Teen Titans right where new 52 struggled. I highly recommend reading it. Also what ever happen to Buner? After the new 52's run, he was never seen much. I enjoyed that character. Have they ever explain how Beast Boy turned from Red to Green and so far I came up with nothing
You're basically to Teen Titans what ComicBookGirl19 is to the X-Men. And seeing how I love the Teen Titans more than the X-Men, you can guess who I prefer. Love ya Faust! :D
This is a great breakdown, and I pretty much only have read the Wolfman/Perez run and Geoff Johns, with occasional issues of the original. I don't know if you get into the Legion of Superheroes, but I feel like they deserve the treatment you've given the Titans.
Tbh, I felt the 2003 Geoff John's was definitely a time when the team was sidelined, and they were sidelined hard. Because pretty much every single story they did during it was personal to them, but to the larger DCU it was nothing. By contrast alot of stuff that happened in the larger DCU always had effects on the Teen Titans, most because events liked to kill their members, often for no good reasons. So while Johns had his personal starpower going for him... TT was not his finest hour, quite possibly its the most run of the mill material he done besides his Justice League run. Lobdell's run I consider to be one of the worst things to ever happen to the Titans, chiefly because Lobdell (a former X-men writer) wrote them as if they were they X-Men; hated by the public, always in trouble with regular law-enforcement and trailed by a ridiculously evil government force that wanted to experiment on and weaponize them. Plus he couldn't get a single one of their personalities right and most of his plots just didn't go anywhere or were sort of just auto-resolved out of the blue. With the coming of New Justice in the post-Metal DC, I'll stick with Titans since its finally giving the book/team a reason for existing besides old time nostalgia. Teen Titans... ehh, I am not sure since it's run by my most hated character in DC and supported by the 2nd most hated one, and otherwise manned by characters I don't know or care about.
My first comic was the 2003 teen titans. That's why I want a young justice comic with Tim cassie Kon and Bart. And to be some kind of slice of life with some drama in there. And maybe add Miguel? I just want something fun to read
I'll have to read the Rebirth Teen Titans because if it is sorta like the show but slightly darker I thik I can get my little sibling to read it because she loves the Cartoon and she needs to read stuff in these times
Hope to get more Teen Titans video this summer leading up tbe series premiere, and somd Young Justice videos leading up the season three premiere this fall
The runs I love of the Teen Titans are the New Teen Titans, then Young Justice the first Titans Run, after the second Titans Run and of course my all time favorite is 2003 Teen Titans Run then the Rebirth Teen Titans And Rebirth Titans which is amazing. It really hard to get into the New 52 Run it just felt terrible, but at least Rebirth is giving the essence of Teen Titans and Titans back and soon the shake up to both teams will be interesting to see. I hope the Teen Titans Rebirth becomes it’s own thing and add more characters like the 2003 Run which was interesting giving spotlight to past Teen Titans and Titans members
I started with the rebirth run. It was fun and really enjoyed it. I dont like the new team though. Who are any of these characters other than Damian and red arrow
....jeoff johns..amazing writer if your new to comics remember that name prob should read his stuff..his run on titans was amazing...dont even get me started on his green lantern run omfg it was good..most of that the stuff from that time in dc comics is retconed but those comics are some of the best
Good stuff. Forgot they started in the 60's. Bumblebee wow. Love the 80's run. Sex and drama. Judas Contract was great. Always start with the 80's. Better stories Drake is overrated.
@@ItsSuperEffective I've been noticed, yah! I know that's Starfire I just think the art is well, not good. Also I love your channel if you wouldn't mind. My channel is dedicated to Superhero videos too. I would love to get your opinion on some of my content.
Cool video! They seem great Have you read any fantastic four books? Because I've been meaning to get into reading them but don't want to start from the beginning and I don't have any idea about the teams history or why they split Again great video! :)
I am a huge fan of the New Teen Titans run back during the 1980's. That being said while that run was epic I have had a very hard time getting back into anything Titans related. My two favorite Titans were and still are Cyborg and Raven and while Cyborg has graduated to fill the ranks of the JLA I feel that that needs to be the function of this book. I feel that the concept has a short shelf life as most teens cannot remain a teen forever and eventually have to mature and grow up. Of course when they mature and grow up they move on. What do you think? Also are you a fan of the current Titans books that are out right now?
The "Titans" Rebirth run was meehhh. Not so interesting. BUT!! The "Teen Titans" Rebirth is AMAZING!!! I collected all volumes (which eventually ends to start the Justice: No Justice issues which was also amazing). Also, Teen Titans Special was excellent as well. Darker tone but I love the extreme side of Robin/Damian.

The pre-Flashpoint continuity IS canon. That was the point of Rebirth to begin with the merge the Pre and Post-Flashpoint timelines so that they're both canon. So Rebirth Titans is further hammering that in with the Perez book references.

This has been my suspicion at multiple points too, just the dates are off by a few months?
My dream titans roster would be Donna, Bumblebee, Raven, Omen, Starfire, Nightwing, Tempest, Cyborg, Arsenal, and Flash
Finally someone who loves the 2003 run as much as me. I have 68 out of 100 rn and I’m still hunting
Same but for me I have 74

I read the issues from 1980 all way to 1996
My first comic was the 2003 teen titans. That's why I want a young justice comic with Tim cassie Kon and Bart. And to be some kind of slice of life with some drama in there. And maybe add Miguel? I just want something fun to read
Had no idea the animated series was completely different from the actual comic serious… bro wtf was up with the terra situation 🫣😂
Hey I don’t know if it’s just me; but every website I go I never find the teen titans rebirth help??
Thanks for the video i really need to start going back the checing out teen titans comics.
I'll have to read the Rebirth Teen Titans because if it is sorta like the show but slightly darker I thik I can get my little sibling to read it because she loves the Cartoon and she needs to read stuff in these times
I personally wouldn't mind you talk about certain stories in Young Justice
What are your thoughts on the return of the Titans of Tomorrow.
I’m happy!! There’s a lot of potential for some BOMB stories from that future!!
What about future Tim Drake getting lost in time?
Titans Hunt is my favorite Titans book.

Dude I'm beginner in comics and I'm confused where to start and the video doesn't help
Start with New Teen Titans :)
One question: How does the Teen Titans run of Wolfman and Perez aged?
3:26 wow that accent is good
....jeoff johns..amazing writer if your new to comics remember that name prob should read his stuff..his run on titans was amazing...dont even get me started on his green lantern run omfg it was good..most of that the stuff from that time in dc comics is retconed but those comics are some of the best
Good stuff. Forgot they started in the 60's. Bumblebee wow. Love the 80's run. Sex and drama. Judas Contract was great. Always start with the 80's. Better stories Drake is overrated.
Yay!!!!!!! Omg i love the back ground soooooo much!!!!! Your awesome!!!
I feel like most of DC Rebirth falls under that mass appeal critique
Isn't there a titans show coming out this year?
miss your videos.
I just want a teen Titans comics that had that chemistry between beast boy and raven that's all
I thought the recent teen titan movies based off the old comics was pretty good.
Thank you!
6:24 look at Batman and Raven the look so similar
And what do u think of killing stalking season 3 so far?

Gonna wait till its finished!

Cool video! They seem great
Have you read any fantastic four books? Because I've been meaning to get into reading them but don't want to start from the beginning and I don't have any idea about the teams history or why they split
Again great video! :)
I think ill read the 2003 run it sounds like the perfect version of the titans for me : )
Talk about the titans tv show that’s coming out
I read the original series
I am a huge fan of the New Teen Titans run back during the 1980's. That being said while that run was epic I have had a very hard time getting back into anything Titans related. My two favorite Titans were and still are Cyborg and Raven and while Cyborg has graduated to fill the ranks of the JLA I feel that that needs to be the function of this book. I feel that the concept has a short shelf life as most teens cannot remain a teen forever and eventually have to mature and grow up. Of course when they mature and grow up they move on. What do you think? Also are you a fan of the current Titans books that are out right now?
Unfortunately my first Teen Titans was New 52...
Are the newer (animated) DC movies similar to the comics?
Kittycatzuzanna 23 no
I would love for you to cover young justice stuff
please do the individual issues of young justice, that would be amazing
Unpopular opinion but I quite like Scott Lobdells run for the story but it was ultimately ruined by the removal of character history
Hi, Teen titans go! comics are not recomended unless you are below 13?
The "Titans" Rebirth run was meehhh. Not so interesting. BUT!! The "Teen Titans" Rebirth is AMAZING!!! I collected all volumes (which eventually ends to start the Justice: No Justice issues which was also amazing). Also, Teen Titans Special was excellent as well. Darker tone but I love the extreme side of Robin/Damian.
Phew. You scared me.
I thought for a second you were cross, and this was gonna be a rant.
Please do a young justice video
:D Great Vid as always
