From what I can tell Marc is normally good at covering up his existence. He has figured out the combination to the lock, swept up and replaced the sand, and replaces the tape. His main slip up is his inability to replace Gus. He slipped up not taking care of his food. I recall there being time release pellets that will feed your fish if you have to leave town for a few days. Naturally it wouldn't be easy for him to find another goldfish with only one fin.
Also, note that "Steven" would have no reason/need to purchase time-release food so it'd be a bit odd to just have it appear -- although Marc could have hidden it in the secret cache.
@@armntic True, though I was just thinking Marc could dispose of it when he returned. I used to own fish and when we left town we would do something similar, fishing it out with the net when we came back.
This is what ethan Hawke said about the glass in his sandals scene. "That [scene] really sprang out of my imagination and our conversations. When you read a comic book, some of the pages have eight drawings, some of them have 16, some have four, and then every now and then, they’ll give like the villain one full-page drawing. I kept asking the writers and directors, if it was a comic book, what would his full-page drawing be? And they were like, “What do you think it was?” I started really meditating on that, and I started thinking about spiritual people who go crazy, who get mad on their own spiritual pride, and how often that turns inward and you see that they’re secretly self-lacerating in some way and hating themselves. Because we all have sin, and the idea that somebody is free of sin is not really possible if you’re human. And so with the self-hatred and the turning inward, I had this image of him listening to a hymn while he put broken glass in his shoes, that he hid from other people. I knew he had a cane and I kept saying, “Wait, I have a cane. Do I have a limp?” They’re like, “No, you don’t have limp.” And I thought, “Ahh, I know why he has a cane.” So I told them this idea. And this is what I mean about what was so surprising about Marvel: They’re like, “Let’s shoot that. That’s a great idea. Let’s open the show with that.” I’m like, “Okay, well, I guess these guys do want to play.”
This is why Marvel is good with these(making good movies/tvshows), they work along side with actors, two brains is good than using just one, and they're not afraid of trying/exploring any ideas from other coworkers/actors

@@testfire3000 Another fun fact is that apparently Steven didn't have a british accent originally. It takes place in London, because many of the shows and movies take place in London. So Oscar Isaac was like "Well if it takes place there, Steven will be british."

From what I’ve read the writers or directors did work with a psychologist to make sure they took DID seriously and represented it well. I don’t know much about it myself but I’ve encountered someone whom I believe may have it. I don’t want to diagnose someone but I don’t know what else it could have been and they were definitely not pretending.
I'm glad they didn't go the "Fight Club" route with portraying Marc's DID. This was also a good way of showing how involuntary alter changes are. From what I know about DID, you really can lose days even when one of your alter decides to front. Seems like Steven is a fairly new-ish alter, so whatever happened to Marc to make Steven take over for so long must've been a pretty large trauma (I imagine dying and becoming Moon Knight would do that). I appreciate the fact that they didn't (yet) make any "evil" alter, since DID is about managing trauma, not causing it. Yes, some alters (categorised as "Protectors") can be rougher on the outside, but never straight-up causing problems on purpose.
One of the alters in the comics, Jake Lockley, is the protector of the system and while he’s definitely rougher compared to marc or steven, he’s by no means evil at all (he also holds most of the trauma which he makes a point to tell marc in one of the runs, if i’m not mistaken)
I hope we get more details on how long ago Marc and the others have been with Steven. But something tells me that they aren’t interested in being accurate about the condition and we’ll wind up with another evil alter or someone who got DID as an adult by magic. Despite the fact that this episode has been ok so far I hesitate to have faith in their overall portrayal of a very complex disorder that so many people suffer from. I guess we’ll just have to see😕🤷🏻♂️

Something I loved is how they put us in the perspective of Steven throughout the entire episode. Because Marc is the main host body, and the one who was resurrected by Khonshu, it puts us the viewer in Steven’s shoes as if we’re experiencing his mental troubles and questioning of reality with him. Very genius imo. And I’m sure we’ll get to see Marc’s comic origin and becoming MK (or a version of it) through flashbacks. And in regards to characters he could interact with, it’s very likely that he’ll eventually become a part of the Midnight Sons, which is a more so supernatural group of heroes and anti heroes in Marvel comics. Frequent members include Dr. Strange, Moon Knight, Blade, Ghost Rider and others. And for the MCU we’ll probably get all them, along with the likes of Dane Whitman’s Black Knight, perhaps they introduce Hannibal King, Elsa Bloodstone and more. Point being, there’s a lot of potential with MK as a solo character and in crossovers. As someone who’s been a fan of Moon Knight for years, I was incredibly happy with how this first episode was, and love that they saved the suit reveal towards the end. Honestly gets a 10/10 from me
What a first episode!! I loved everything about it. Steven Grant is such a tortured soul, and I adore him. Ethan Hawke as a villain was surprising to see. I don't care that we saw Moon Knight for, like, 15 seconds. That ending was badass. Can't wait for more!
As background, from what I remember of mythology Ammit/Ammut is a monstrous creature/deity that waits for Anubis to weigh the heart of the recently dead to determine whether or not they would be allowed to pass to the afterlife. If Anubis found that the person's heart was lighter than a feather (the symbol of Ma'at, basically divine order and law), they'd be allowed to pass. If the heart was heavier than a feather because of the person's misdeeds in life, Ammit would consume them as the Devourer of Souls and their soul would be unable to find peace.
This makes me wonder if Ammit exceeded her authority when she started judging the souls herself. From what I can tell she was more of an executioner than a judge in mythology.
When Moon Knight started back in the mid-70s, he had the reputation of being "Marvel's Batman" because of his background and methodology, and he did some team-ups with traditional teams like the Defenders & Avengers. Come the mid/late-80"s, they began to emphasize the mystical aspects of his origins. Now, he'd be more likely to team up with people like Dr.Strange, Scarlet Witch, Shang-chi, or Morbius.
Stephen doesn't realize that he has another personality until the end. He thinks that he's sleepwalking. That's why he says he keeps waking up and he's somewhere else like his body's trying to get his 10,000 steps
Another fun fact, in the museum scene when he is talking to the girl if you scan the QR code in the background it takes you to a free online version of the comic to read!
You're right. Its like venom. That voice in his head that was telling him what to do is the Egyptian moon god that moon knight serves. The Arthur harrow character seems to serve Amit which is the goddess of the dead.

Marc Spector (Mercenary), Steven Grant (most commonly a billionaire playboy but I’m betting they changed that up to reduce “Marvel’s Batman” comparisons), and Jake Lockley (a cabbie who helps get him intel in street level crime) are his primary personalities. Regarding where this fits into the main MCU timeline: no one knows. The creators said they knew when they first started making it, but with COVID and all the other factors rearranging the phase 4 release timeline so much, they removed a bunch of references to the wider MCU and are just leaving it as a mostly standalone show instead. Marc is a second identity inside Steven's body and Marc works for the moon god Khonshu (the one who has a eagle head) also the testing is a judgement in Ancient Egyptian mythology where the person's heart is tested with a coin if you had a good life and a good person you go to the after life to live....if you were bad your heart is fed to the goddess Ammit.
Marc Spektor is the Merc identity. It is an Egyptian god, Khonsu or Khonshu, the god of the moon. He is a guardian god who protects those who travel by night. Steven thinks he sleep walks...and isnt aware of his DID yet...not until he is in the Alps. The living statue is Crawley is Marcs homie on one of the comic iterations. Marc is the personality that is possesed by the moon deity. Steven actually is a personality of Marc but im glad that Marvel switched it to Steven as the main personality. Ammit is actually the devourer of the dead, kind of under Anubus, not really a main god but snacked on the bad souls. Also one reason the girl might not have knew that Steven didnt remember asking out is because it couldve been another personality, Jack? Jack something... Anyway great show!!!
Not only that Ethan hawke character is based David koresh the cult leader but also another from the comics of Moon knight named Sun king the cult leader
Ok so Basically he has two personalities ones name is Steven who is English and the other Marc who is American. Marc is Moonknight. And that voice that kinda sounds like venoms is the Egyptian Moon God. Marc was a Marine who died in Egypt. He actually died under a statue of the Moon God. Then the Moon God brought him back to life but with one condition.. to serve as Moonknight
The thing with the flouting bird skull is khonshu he is the Egyptian god of the moon & the sky , he is the one that gave Marc Spector his powers and the one that was speaking to him
He is possessed by Khonshi, the god of the moon and vengeance. He has dissociative identity disorder since a traumatic event in his childhood. He is a former U.S. soldier turned mercenary named Marc Spector. Steven Grant is an alter identity of his as a result of his DID. Khonshu is the voice in his head.
Has Anyone Noticed this or am i the only one that the voice of Marc in the background sounds so familiar with the Bane's Voice of The Dark Knight Rises....
Love y’all reactions but maybe keep all the questions for later😂 this show is giving vibes of taking us on a confusing journey just as Steve as been with the recent events happening. As a Moon knight fan all I can say it’s be ready to see how crazy he can get
in the last washroom scene the back mirror reflection was different and the side mirror reflection was different personality ! and both are maybe like different moon knights !
Steven has the multiple identity/personality disorder...for now we know he has 2 identities Steven Grant and Marc Spector....he might have more identities like he has in comics. In comics he has 4 identites [(original identity) Mercenary Marc Spector and (3 alter egos)Billionaire businessman Stevan Grant, taxicab driver Jake Lockley, and suited consultant Mr. Knight.]

The goddess "Amet" referred to by the mysterious man in the red shirt seems to be the same as Amut the Devourer who consumed the souls of the noble dead, if they were found to be wanting in the scales of judgement, in the ancient Egyptian afterlife.
Steven: Charming 👆😂
I think the fish died because he was gone for so long and Marc tried to replace it so Stephen wouldn't notice
"Was he asleep for two days?" No, he was Marc for two days...
“Never eat a steak well done “🤣🤣🤣💀
Not only that Ethan hawke character is based David koresh the cult leader but also another from the comics of Moon knight named Sun king the cult leader
Ok so Basically he has two personalities ones name is Steven who is English and the other Marc who is American. Marc is Moonknight. And that voice that kinda sounds like venoms is the Egyptian Moon God. Marc was a Marine who died in Egypt. He actually died under a statue of the Moon God. Then the Moon God brought him back to life but with one condition.. to serve as Moonknight
The thing with the flouting bird skull is khonshu he is the Egyptian god of the moon & the sky , he is the one that gave Marc Spector his powers and the one that was speaking to him
Spoilers
@@Souledex not really
I really like the main actor,
Moon knight woohhhh~
I’m moon light 💡 lol.
Looking forward to more next episodes in the future.
Good reaction, Good EP.1 : )
He is possessed by Khonshi, the god of the moon and vengeance. He has dissociative identity disorder since a traumatic event in his childhood. He is a former U.S. soldier turned mercenary named Marc Spector. Steven Grant is an alter identity of his as a result of his DID. Khonshu is the voice in his head.
Khonshu
"I've never seen it" bro... you just sparked a whole slew of comments that are gonna tell you to react to avatar. By the way, react to avatar!
Damn you guys are on top of this shit lol
3:15...I think the technical term is 'living statue' or 'annoying twat' and if you've seen the film Hot Fuzz you'll known that noooo one likes them 😉
Finally someone picked up on the Chaos comment, like Wanda’s magic
Steven realizing he missed his date could be an add for depression medication it's so sad
Has Anyone Noticed this or am i the only one that the voice of Marc in the background sounds so familiar with the Bane's Voice of The Dark Knight Rises....
Oh yeah we have one more, wonder women + falcon = wonder falcon.
If anything, it's probably his other personality like Mr. Knight or Jake Lockley.
It was pretty good, have high hopes for this one
NEVER SEEN AVATAR!?!?!? Anyone else think that should be rectified? 🤔
medium rare, a cultured man
We need to back up a bit, what do you mean you haven’t seen avatar the last airbender???
Also great reaction
Brought to you by Marvel in which things get darker. Starring Oscar Isaac as Steven who suffers from insomnia as he works in a museum
Knight.]
Marc Spector is ONE of the other persons in Moon Knight's head.
11:45 Reminds me of Mr. X from Resident Evil 2 😂
He walks around with glass in his shows as penance for his past sins and supplication and prayer for Ammit.
Are we just going to go passed the fact that he hasn’t seen Avatar: The Last Airbender?
They should absolutely watch ATLA at some point
I was scrolling the comments looking for others who would be excited for them to react to ATLA.
Can we deal with the fact that Anthony hasn’t seen ATLA?
Great show. So far they have stayed true to his comic version.
Saw them..... clicked like.....
From what I have read they were going to give it a timeline in the mcu but they changed it to let the audience figure it out.
He is Mr.Robot's brother
Finally moonknight is here! & idk much about the character other than seeing him in some Spider-Man games but this is great so far
Thank you for ep 1
I think mark is putting back stevens markers
Please do Avatar the last airbender if anthony never see it.. I think he will love it
So far so good
the fact that its rated tv-14 but it still not as violence as daredevil or punisher but i heard that early reviews said it is brutal in first 1- 4ep
Maybe brutal in a different sense? But yeah I can confirm it won’t be “brutal” like the daredevil or punisher don’t expect that because if u do u will be disappointed.
@@phantomfaith2001 thats what i said its not gon be as brutal as daredevil or punisher🤣
@@phantomfaith2001 but its age restricted on disney plus and in uk its 16+ for violence...blood but again its not gon be that close to marvel netflix shows..but it is violence..bc if they completely removed the violence..its just dont feel right for moon knight character bc that what he really is in comics...hes an anti hero he kills...so 16+ just for more blood its fine but ofc it aint gon be crazy violence...its rated Tv-14 a youtuber who just watched 4 episodes of moon knight screen shot the rating sooo...but again its not as brutal as netflix marvel shows but it worked for moon knight and blood
@@joejie9019 oh not enough penis jokes from John Cena.
btw he thinks he's sleep walking not actually becoming something else
I LOVE this omg
The goddess "Amet" referred to by the mysterious man in the red shirt seems to be the same as Amut the Devourer who consumed the souls of the noble dead, if they were found to be wanting in the scales of judgement, in the ancient Egyptian afterlife. Not sure how that's going to fit into the rest of the plot, though.
I have been through a few of those small towns / villages in England and yep...some of them feel that creepy...!
😬😬
