Just so ya know reason he said there is chaos in Steven/Marc is because it is a huge threat to the cult of Ammit and one thing that is very important in Ancient Egyptian religion is keeping order in and controlling chaos.

that bathroom scene, I don't think I've seen anything that got me this freaked out in a LONG time. I've never read the comics, knew nothing about Moon Knight, but when that happened, I was screaming into my pillow from excitement. the chase, to seeing Marc, the music, then the shot leading into the bathroom with the sink thrown, then the creature trying to get AWAY, then the reveal!! holy crap! I am so excited for what comes next!
What a first episode!! I loved everything about it. Steven Grant is such a tortured soul, and I adore him. Ethan Hawke as a villain was surprising to see. I don't care that we saw Moon Knight for, like, 15 seconds. That ending was badass. Can't wait for more!
The Disney 'censorship' of TFAWS was an incorrect upload to American servers - it was edited for other countries who had different standards and they stated it was a mistake being corrected ASAP.
Watching the "villain" walk calmly away from camera, broken glass embedding deeper into his bare soles with each step, I was surprised to feel pity for him. Perhaps this is testament to the nuance of Ethan Hawke's gentle performance, but I just felt that putting on those shoes was like a sigh to him; the relief of feeling pain on his own terms, instead of the constant struggle to maintain comfort that could be taken away at any moment. Rid of the unease of feeling unworthy of happiness; peace at the price of pain that made sense.
I'm glad they didn't go the "Fight Club" route with portraying Marc's DID. This was also a good way of showing how involuntary alter changes are. From what I know about DID, you really can lose days even when one of your alter decides to front. Seems like Steven is a fairly new-ish alter, so whatever happened to Marc to make Steven take over for so long must've been a pretty large trauma (I imagine dying and becoming Moon Knight would do that). I appreciate the fact that they didn't (yet) make any "evil" alter, since DID is about managing trauma, not causing it. Yes, some alters (categorised as "Protectors") can be rougher on the outside, but never straight-up causing problems on purpose.
Same! And from what one system I saw on Twitter, the portrayal is decently accurate with mild exaggeration but nothing not based in experiences. So that's hopeful!
This is both one of the best pilot episodes of a tv show AND one of the most insanely mind bending episodes of tv I have ever seen in my life. Now when I recommend this to people I will say DON’T watch any trailers, just do what Steven does and go in blind and strap yourselves in.
omg thank you for referencing Paul Bettany in the Da Vinci Code. The first thing I said when I saw Arthur put his feet in the glass filled shoes was "Oh, he must be Opus Dei"
I think what Disney are trying to do with Falcon is serve up a different version depending on your profile settings, so if you have "adult" content allowed, it'll give the original, otherwise it'll give the toned down version. They just have screwed up and the check isn't working so it's only giving the toned down version atm.
I’m very intrigued. When watching this I had to stop and think, “wait, Oscar Isaac isn’t British.” I’m hoping we get to see more of his range that we didn’t get to see in Star Wars.
They did a great job of making us feel like Steven (with a v). Oscar Isaac is an amazing actor. That scene at the restaurant was heartbreaking. Really hopeful about the level of violence in the show. All the blood on the hand after Mark took over is pretty telling & I hope we see from Marks perspective next episode were they actually show the fight scenes. Great reaction guys. Love the Deuce Bigalow reference..."spicy" Cheers
There was an artist in Denmark who made an exhibition where he had a gold fish in an active blender. The art piece was whether people would switch it on or not. The first couple of people were really shocked when they accidentally killed a fish.
I felt so bad for him when he missed his date. Dude lost 3 days, that’s wild. Side note: the bags under his eyes kinda indicate he’s been going on for days
I'm glad I wasn't the first one who thought of Stargate with all the Egyptian stuff, especially when all the townfolk are kneeling to Ethan Hawke's character. I seem to recall there was an actual Konsu in an SG-1 episode, who was an undercover Tok'ra and who got killed by the guy who went on to become First Prime to Anubis.
You dropped this video before I even got the chance to watch the episode 😅 loved the episode, feels so unique and different from the typical MCU style of movies/shows. Reminds me of when Wandavision came out
Less Nemo (really Dory, I'm assuming--who's a Clownfish) than Ted Lasso's aphorism about Goldfish. To me the biggest shock of this episode was them creating a mystery and solving it by the end of the episode. They lay out a series of events that if you're a clever viewer make it obvious this is D.I.D. and likely that Steven isn't the original personality. So almost immediately you start asking why a "parasite" as Khonsu calls him, and an innocent/clueless Alter like Steven would be necessary. And they answer that when he passes that Purity Test with the scales. Brilliant writing.
Open rubics cube and apply silicone spray or if you cant get that vaseline works just as well. Then start to mix rubik's cube over and over until the movements become smooth and quick. Tip from a rubik's expert
Despite that first scene which was one of the hardest things I've ever watched, I just went NO. WTF. STOP. AAH. HOLY SHIT. NOO HGFNHGN. I loved the first episode. It was confusing, usually I hate that, but for this show it makes sense in order to relate as much as possible with the main character. I also love it because if you remove the supernatural element it's akin to schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder. And I like the Ancient Egyptian theme. And Oscar Isaac is great.
I like your reaction videos and I'm glad you're watching a Marvel series again. I'm with you on that one! Exciting and interesting start for Moon Knight. I don't know the comics and am very curious to see what happens next. Best regards from Germany, Thomas. Loki was my favourite Marvel show but after this first ep, im pretty sure Moon Knight will overtake that. Love that Steven is the main character we start off with, you really get to empathize with his sad, lonely life, and how much of an opposite he is with Marc. The voice, which im pretty sure was Khonshu, was actually hilarious, "The idiot is in control", "Leave us be, parasite!", "Truck, stupid!!" lol. I dont know how Im going to wait 6 more days for the next ep. Btw, are you guys going to react to Halo? Pretty good show, I think it would make for a great reaction
Introduced werewolf by night moon knight trained as a boxer before he joined the army. Stephen in the comics is a playboy but now he works at a museum. Two reflections on the period could be marc and jake with Stephen. A lot of reflections from mirrors I love it. The bob dylan song was a nice touch. Y’all see the crocodiles everywhere lol ammit from Egyptian mythology. The theme of waking up is there but really Stephen has did dissociative identity disorder. He has sand around his bed. He has a goldfish that have been said to have bad memories funny enough Stephen has trouble with his memory. Notice the scale tattoo Arthur has in the Egyptian afterlife a person heart is weighed to see if they had been good or bad. That song was sampled for big pimpin lol.
I said this on the Reel Rejects video, but Ammit isnt the judge. She just eats the hearts of the evil. Anubis is the judge. But also, Ammit isnt evil but neutral Edit: also, guess there was a QR code somewhere in the episode that gives a free moon knight comic
