Chad, before you button up the truck bed here is a possible idea for you. I don't know where you are planning on putting the fuel tank, but it looks like you have an opportunity to add a secrete storage area under the bed just behind the cab. Have done plenty of El Camino beds that way by adding a hinge on front bed panel. Looks like you have enough room to make a box big enough to carry a floor jack, toolbox & cables, something every shop truck should have. Just something to think about........ Scott from the high desert, just down the road from Gene W.

I have been watching your show for quite some time so instead of buying some metal brackets, I decided to make them. I worked with metal years ago building airboats and swamp buggies and have the tools I need but haven't worked with them in years. Your skills make things look so easy but mine leave a lot to be desired. I made the brackets. You could have made them in about a hour. It took me most of the day! Your skill with tools made the difference. I had to do and redo them several times.

Maybe a split seat that flips the but part up for underneath storage box and so you can get to the battery box easily. Just an idea. Even if you put seat slide guides for behind the seat storage and adjustment. Definetly lift the seat. Think armrest/ window height like in you daily driver pickup. Jolene needs to be able to see over the long hood and see out mirrors.

    Hi Chad and Jolene
A idea with the seat, you could make the area between the floor of the seat frame and the plywood base of the seat to store your emergency recovery equipment, like bottle Jack's, jumper cables, wheel brace for the wheel nuts, a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, plus direct access to the vehicles battery / batteries.
But most of all you Chad and Jolene always come up with a solution to a quandary.
Great work on the truck, it is looking great.

This is probably my favorite build that you have done. I still think it would look a little better with those door corners rounded off. I know you found the pic at Jim's with another truck that had sharp corners there but that's why we like what you do, cuz you don't do what everyone else does and you make it different. Plus it would be good content. Regardless, you two are awesome and this is absolutely my favorite build to date. Keep on keeping on \m/ (>

      @willhorting5317 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

"..... that's why we like what you do, cuz you don't do what everyone else does....."
@mikilroy556 ....I agree that is one reason I watch Chad and Jolene.
But food for discussion.....Chad found ONE photo of an old truck with the square door corner, right?
Have you looked at that same location on the '35-'42 Dodge pickups, or the '37-'42 Plymouth pickups?
In both cases, that location is rounded.
And I have seen many comments in these videos, wanting that area on this pickup, to be rounded.
Well, if the factory look was rounded... and viewers are insisting that it be rounded...if Chad were to round them, how would THAT make his work stand out and be the uniqueness that brings us back to watch his fabrication/build?
I'm sure that it probably seems that I am trying to argue.
      However, I am not.
I am simply attempting to provide a counterpoint, for thought and discussion.
That's the beauty of automotive customization.
We all can see things differently, yet no matter what the idea is, or how it is done, there's always more than a single "right way" for something to look.
Or at least I think so.🙂
      Merry Christmas!⛄

Hey Chad, I know it’s hard to read all comments but I wanted to say this build is turning out to be my favorite, so far. I was wondering on the back of the truck are you going to do a roll pan? I look at the side of the truck and it flows so nice to the rear, just thinking about the back of the fender how you would fill that little gap on the side to flow on to the roll pan? Great job now watching your channel more than tv.
