Always handy to have a small pair of scissors ✂️ in your pocket to! I scored some as a student and still use them.

Thank you very much. BTW, The TH-cam subtitles are overlapping with your white subtitles.

Hi Charlotte! Im doing a nursing pathway and planning to go to AUT in next year's intake. I have 2 kids so I really want to hear from you about how to manage time, a bit about timetable and placement schedule please. I know its different for everyone, but want to listen to your experience so I can start preparing now and will not be overwhelmed or burning out next year. Thank you so much!!!

Hi lovely! Thank you for watching my video and big congrats on starting your nursing journey! With placements, I found that they will always be Monday - Friday, so your weekends will be free for study/work/relaxing/family-time, and the shifts vary - if you're in hospital they will typically move between 7am-3pm and 2.30pm-11pm, whereas if you're in the community they can vary but will typically be daytime hours! The placements will usually be between 3-5 weeks with your final placement being 10 weeks. In terms of managing time, I found calendar-blocking really helpful as it allowed me to see when I had free time available or when things were due, and for day-to-day things I found keeping a daily or weekly to-do list so valuable in staying on track! I really hope this was helpful and good luck for next year! You've got this :)

Hey Charlotte! I am planning on transferring to AUT next year from Massey in Wellington. I was just wondering how much of your degree is in person. I'm changing unis because Massey has moved nursing online, meaning we have pre-recorded lectures and only come into campus for labs. As you can probably imagine, I am finding this quite challenging (hence the move). I just wanted to ensure I'm not walking into the same situation as before.
Hope that made sense, and congratulations on graduating!!!! :)

Hi lovely! From what I remember, the nursing faculty were quite determined to have as much of our curriculum in person, so after all the covid lockdowns were finished we were expected to go in for lectures, labs, exams etc, but they also provided online recordings of the lectures in case people were sick. I'm not sure if this has changed, but as of 6 months ago, I would say that most of AUT nursing was done in person. Hope this helps, and good luck with your big move!

Hi lovely! In my first year I used www.medshop.nz but you can also buy using trademe, Facebook market, and www.nzmdl.co.nz - If you're buying your stethoscope, I really recommend investing and getting a Littman if you're able! They're better quality and will last you :) Congrats on starting your second semester and thank you so much for watching my video!

Hi, love your videos!❤️I was just wondering does AUT provides nursing students with a stethoscope and other equipments? Is it free or do we have to buy them?

Hi lovely! Thank you so much for your support, I'm so happy you enjoy my content :) When I was at AUT they gave us each our own stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, oral thermometer and an eye torch for neuro exams - there wasn't any additional cost for this as the cost came under our course fees if that makes sense. Hope this helps!
