  • We have arrived in Lagos Portugal in the beautiful Algarve region! We head out the east side of Lagos where there is a huge, wide, flat expanse of beach and a beautiful boardwalk. We have always seen the pictures of the gorgeous sea stacks and rock formations of Lagos (and we will definitely take you there as well) but this beautiful beach in Lagos surprised us! We ended up loving this long, sandy beach and boardwalk and the marina in Lagos. We go for a walk, drink a new wine at happy hour at sunset and enjoy a side of Lagos that we didn't realize existed! We hope you enjoy this side of this amazing town as much as we did! Cheers!!

      OMG!! Have you been before?! It is an amazing place for snowbirds!! Make sure to go to the marina restaurants and bars, where you will find all sorts of amazing expats and wintering visitors who are so fun and living their best life! Great, friendly people - from the servers to the patrons. So happy for you guys! It is truly a great little city. Funny, we didn't run into any other canadians when we were there, but so many fun brits etc. Have so much fun!! Cheers!!

    The verde is a new, unaged wine (think Beaujolais nouveau)

      OMG Lagos is just stunning!! two months there will be lovely! We do have another video coming out on Saturday about the other side of Lagos, which is the beautiful cliffs, sea stacks and the famous Ponte da Piadade! We didn't expect the east end and marina to be as amazing as it was! thank you for watching and enjoy your two months!! The people, food and sunshine is sure to keep you happy. Where are you travelling from?? Coming from Canada, this part of the world was beautifully sunny and uplifting for this time of year! LOL

      @@user-rs5zc5zk2m LOL!! Best time of day is "wine o'clock!" haha!! ahhhh... it will be so great for you guys to get out of the gloom of winter. Probably not much snow in TO right now, but you will love the SUN in southern Portugal. It is the main reason we chose to go for a few of the winter months. Think of it as Sept/Oct in Ontario - cool in morning and evening, but a sunny afternoon is shorts and T-shirts!! Head to the marina area in late afternoon for full sun and happy hour. When the rest of the town can get shady as the sun sets, the marina holds sun the longest! We thought Old Town would be where its at and we were surprised by the vibe by the marina!!

      Definitely pack layers!! Puffy coat or similar for evenings. But man, that sun on your forehead in mid afternoon is hot! So also bring a hat with a brim for happy hour time! LOL. So excited for you guys because Lagos is just beautiful!

      There are definitely lots of Brits in Portugal, but we met quite a few in Spain too! You can't blame the Brits and Canadians for wanting to escape the dreary winter to the beautiful south of Portugal! Portuguese people are also so welcoming!

    Hi guys. Vino Verde means a very young wine that has not been aged.

    • @mitchandjan
      @mitchandjan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh goodness! That is not the explanation we received from someone, but that certainly makes sense! Thank you!!

    • @chrisclarke7828
      @chrisclarke7828 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No it don't.
      Vinho Verde refers to Portuguese wine that originated in the historic Minho province in the far north of the country. The modern-day 'Vinho Verde' region, originally designated in 1908, includes the old Minho province plus adjacent areas to the south. In 1976, the old province was dissolved.

      Hello! We were in Lagos in December, for a whole month. We would definitely go to the south of Portugal in January (in fact we may go back this coming January), temps are in the mid to high teens, but best of all is the beautiful sun! It will definitely be warmer, drier and sunnier than Scotland! Thanks for watching! Cheers! 🥂
