The 1969 Camaro SS in the video belongs to a good friend of the channel. It's powered by a lightly modified LS9 which makes nearly 800 horsepower to the wheels (approximately 900 HP at the crank). The modifications to the LS9 include performance camshaft, headers, ported blower and E85 tune. The LS9 is backed by a T-56 Tremec 6 speed manual transmission and a Ford 9 inch rear with 3.70 gears. On the day the passes were made, the drag radials had seen better days, so we belive with a fresh set of tires the Camaro will make a 9 second pass.
Tell us what you think of our friend's LS9 powered 1969 Camaro SS, and what you think about the 1/4 mile runs.

What an awesome build. Haters always say “ why Ls swap everything? “ Because you end up with THIS!!

      Still cliche, though.

Could you imagine if they had h rods and nitro pistons in there and ran nitrous oxide on top of that

Possible the best swap ever. Probably extremely reliable too

I have a 2017 ZL1 that makes similar power but my fat pig weighs at least 400 more lbs so 10.0@137. Mine has all the coolers for road racing and such but it doesn’t rev me like a 69 does. I only have $50k in it from a rebuilt title and getting the itch to build a 69 like this shows $100k to do it properly. Dang it. Love first gens, especially the 69!!!

I don't see how electric vehicles are supposed to be as exciting as something like this. There is nothing that takes the place of a fast stick shift car. It's a skill rather than an appliance.

Tremec isn’t a joke. 2 speed Built Powerglide with proper gears beats T400.
