Exams have been going OK for me Most people in my year group are struggling so much. For example in English language paper 1 at least 20% of students missed out the last question which many would know is worth half of the paper 💀 At this point in time I am capitalising on many people doing not so good and doing a lot better

The exams are easier than expected but its this thing we’re you’re not sure you’re getting the stuff that’ll be on the markschemes ..maths is the only thing you can be sure of ..but so far so good
That is very relatable as the markschemes are always different and its not easy to get exactly what they are looking for. A useful tip would be to try to use keywords/phrases to hit the points that the specification mentions!
I’ve been doing my GCSEs and they’re going pretty good, even though I think the toughest exams like paper 2 sciences are left. You just need to pace yourself because it is such a lengthy period. How did you spend the summer after year 11?
Glad to hear! I might make videos for the paper 2 sciences so make sure to keep an eye out. I agree, it is a long time to stay focused but you will be rewarded with that long summer! I would recommend relaxing of course mostly but if you wanted, you could be doing: research on finding out what course you want to study in university, volunteering, any relevant work experience, studying in advance for year 12, getting a part time job. There are many things you can do to keep yourself busy! Hope this has helped!

GCSE student here the exams have surprisingly been relatively easy (I hope i don't jinx myself) since its so much easier to revise due to the advanced information, im surprised the grade boundaries arent going to be higher this year ngl but great vid!
Thank you so much for mentioning this. My igcse end this week. For most IGCSE students we have had more than just the pandemic having to do exams during an economic crisis. If this happens it would be fair on all of us. Hope this applies to IGCSE/IAL as well in addition to gcses.
Hiya I was wondering why my exams for a levels were actually not too bad (and I'm deffo not the a* type of student). I can definitely say that I revised super hard throughout the exams (I started revising intensely during the Easter holidays). Great video! But don't you think boundaries will be much higher this year? With all the advanced info. and 'generous' marking it seems impossible for boundaries to be lower. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
Exactly,we think papers were not so bad but actywe will need more points to get higher gtade. If you look at predicted boundaries from grade 7 to 8 there is 36 points different. This never happened before,it is almost 2 grade difference in previous years. So don’t be so excited YET
The comments are throwing me off because I thought the exams were really difficult so far… I overthink slot of questions most of the time and I can’t shake it; for example there was a question on a faulty valves effects on the human body and I said… lactic acid build. I came out of the exam hall and nearly sent myself to hell. So those grade boundaries better be low low.
Don't worry about all the other comments, everyone will say different things and will have different experiences, just try to focus on yourself and whatever is next
Physics exams and math exams are are coming very easy but mathsb and puremaths is literally the hardest literally every student coming out of the halls starts breaking down or crying after exam of maths
Your video is great, thanks for the update. But I have a question, does this goes for every country or just UK? And will this information also apply for Cambridge's 'o' levels as well?
It's okay, hope everything will go well, being positive is all you can do and try your best to forget about all other exams right now and focus on your next
so far my a level sociology papers weren't that good given the very vague advanced info they didn't even rly stick to it biology paper 1 was pretty ok actually but im worried for the other two
They wish to return them to normal next year, this will be the final year they take the pandemic into account unless they change their mind. Still, if more people in your year find the exams hard then it’ll still lower the boundaries in that sense but not in the way this year has.
Hi Jaden Yee Thanks for a very concise and informative video One Question I would like to know if there is a table that shows the exam result percentage boundaries against grades ie. is the Grade 9 90% -100%? The reason I am asking this, is that all the way up to year 11, my son's school assessment results are presented in percentage terms. Your kind assistance is gratefully appreciated Keep up the good work and wish you every success in your endeavours
Hi! Up to year 11, I assume each school will use their own grade boundaries. From my school personally, they used averages and decided grade boundaries from there so asking the school would be your best option probably since every school will grade differently due to everyone running different internal exams.
I don’t know how I did, even if I found an exam good , if everyone else found it easy then won’t that mean it’s harder to get top grades ? Or bc of this even if lots of people did well people will still get the higher grades?
That might mean competition will be higher but a certain percentage of student will still be achieving the top grades no matter how easy or hard the exams are
do reckon from the data given by ofqual that the grade boundaries will massively lower or just by a little bit so because the grade boundaries for a B in AS level biology was 44% in 2021 so do you reckon it would be like 40% this year?
I am not certain but every year will have different grade boundaries depending on how well the students performed each year. If people performed worse this year than 2021 then I would guess that grade boundaries will most likely be lower
Well.... it;s too late for me to watch this. I figured out not that long ago that I also flopped my two 8 mark questions on geo paper 2 because I didn't know what was meant by 'assess' 😭
hey so like, for my a levels im going for further maths, maths, physics and computer science now im aware that computer science doesnt really heighten ur chances of getting into some unis but i find it fun so tried to jam it in with the other 3 a levels i want because i do want to be a programmer. my brother says i shouldnt take 4 a levels as it takes too much of ur time and u will have to manage more i do tend to agree with his pov but i dont know, should i drop physics or computer science? I can always study programming at home after all but i want a fun sixth form journey. So i really would like to hear anyones take on this
If you want to do something in programming then computer science, I would assume that it would definitely be helpful. I managed to do 4 A-levels and still have enough time but it really depends on how you are finding your subjects and to prioritise what you need. For example, if you are already struggling with getting 4 good grades then maybe dropping a subject would be best seeing as you could focus on getting 3 very good grades. This also depends on what universities you want to apply to and what they require so be sure to check this all out before deciding! Hope this has helped a bit.
That's okay, you can definitely improve in 1 day if you focus hard on your weak topics or try to learn important things you don't yet understand. Try to gain motivation by thinking of working as hard as you can now and then enjoying the holiday once you get there. Have regular breaks and give yourself some time off so you don't have to study constantly. Update me and hope all goes well

do you have any tips for a level maths? I practised so much and fully flopped my paper 1, I always choke when the question is formatted in a way i've never seen before
Maths is all about understanding different questions and working out what they are testing you on. Practice questions and papers are probably the best thing to do and the more you do, the more exposure and practice you have. You can also watch people on youtube answering random maths questions about topics you are struggling on and work out where your weaknesses are
I am doing Maths chemistry biology for A levels and for maths there just wasnt enough time to complete the papers as there were 16 questions where quite a bit thinking was required. Biology was very applied and chemistry they did follow the advanced notice somewhat but the grade boundaries for chemistry are always way too high
I would say the normal papers which test all of the content are better as it tests you on everything but both will definitely help. Topic tests are good for improving specific topics which may be more helpful depending on what you want!
I have Edexcel And on maths paper 1 and paper 2 total I only answered few questions for me I think I will get around 20 marks or 15 marks Will I pass or will I get a grade 3 I mean can I avoid fail with this marks please help me someone please
@@Maria-uv3eq retakes/resits are usually in October or November. If you don't get a pass (grade 4) you can have another go in the Autumn term of college or sixth form.
Say for maths if you find the write answer but don’t write it in the answer box will it count as wrong or will they be generous I hope I get a grade 4 on foundation I think it will be 136-139 How many do you think it will be
I think it will be around the same as it is every year, as long as it is not out of the lines and depending on the examiner, I would guess they would count it
are there still going to be lower grade boundaries if the majority of people found the tests easy? That seems to be what has happened with aqa higher maths
Maybe lower compared to some years but there will be a higher proportion of people getting higher grades this year so grade boundaries will be determined by performance
The official information was that the number of people achieving higher grades will be higher than 2019 so on average people will do better. Grade boundaries will be different due to the performance of each year depending on the exam so you can't be certain whether they are higher or lower
tbh i’m kind of stressed about physics aqa grade boundaries because they made a mistake in the paper, so they released a statement saying that everyone gets +9 marks to make it fair. would that not mean that the overall grade boundaries would be higher ?
This wouldn't play a factor as everyone's mark would increase by the same 9 marks so grade boundaries would probably go up but everyone's marks will too at the same rate so I wouldn't worry about this
An extended project qualification - it is like an essay which is marked on the final piece and planning which is equivalent to around half an A-level. I talked more about this in my A level results video
The grade boundaries could increase if everyone does a lot better than 2019 but a higher percentage of people will be getting higher grades since normally only a certain percent of students will achieve each grade
@@JadenYee thanks. Overall I'd say for 9/10 subjects I'm doing the exams are a lot easier than past papers. The only exception for me I'd say would be chemistry as I still found it a bit difficult similar to if I was to sit the 2019 one
Every man saying physics paper 1 (gcse, Edexcel higher) was easy, seriously they couldn’t of made it easier, felt like I was doing a foundation paper! The last three questions everyone are going to get full marks as AQA added in not accessed topics by ‘mistake’ which is a joke, but hey they’re human.
It could be higher if everyone does well but a higher percentage of people will be getting higher grades since normally only a certain percent of students will achieve each grade
I don’t believe this.It will be easier to pass for the less able students which is good but the boundaries for higher grades will be much higher then before so for example this year 7 would be easier grade 8.The grades boundaries shounever be changed it actually show how unfair he U.K. system is
Generous grading meaning that there will be a higher percentage getting higher grades so even if you get a lower mark you may get more generously graded.
Won’t people do better on exams due to advanced information and therefore more people will score higher meaning the grade boundaries would have to increase accordingly.
They might increase accordingly but a higher percentage of people will be getting higher grades since normally only a certain percent of students will achieve each grade
Hope you enjoy! Check out my website: jadenyee.com for more help!

Hey! Out of topic, but which ones are more important and effective, topical papers or yearly papers?
I would say the normal papers which test all of the content are better as it tests you on everything but both will definitely help. Topic tests are good for improving specific topics which may be more helpful depending on what you want!
will the grade threshold be lower for November 2022 exams o level?
I have Edexcel
And on maths paper 1 and paper 2 total I only answered few questions for me I think I will get around 20 marks or 15 marks
Will I pass or will I get a grade 3 I mean can I avoid fail with this marks please help me someone please
its just that due to pressure i made many mistakes in science whilst under pressure an im worried this will cot me like 2 grades
That's okay, just try to focus on the next exams and try your best to stay calm during the exam
So does this grade boundary thing also apply to the oct/nov session?
I would assume so but I am not 100% sure
Wdym by oct/ nov session?
@@Maria-uv3eq retakes/resits are usually in October or November. If you don't get a pass (grade 4) you can have another go in the Autumn term of college or sixth form.
@@Maria-uv3eq the exams that will take place in october and november
@@hoppybird or u can choose to resit if u want
i found hardest papers easy and easy ones hard like i found physics combined paper 1 harder than chem - its going okay but not too good
Goodluck for the rest, try doing more practice papers before your next exams to see what you find hard/easy and focus on the hard things!
Say for maths if you find the write answer but don’t write it in the answer box will it count as wrong or will they be generous I hope I get a grade 4 on foundation I think it will be 136-139
How many do you think it will be
I think it will be around the same as it is every year, as long as it is not out of the lines and depending on the examiner, I would guess they would count it
are there still going to be lower grade boundaries if the majority of people found the tests easy? That seems to be what has happened with aqa higher maths
Maybe lower compared to some years but there will be a higher proportion of people getting higher grades this year so grade boundaries will be determined by performance
Do u think the grade boundaries will be lower than 2019?
The official information was that the number of people achieving higher grades will be higher than 2019 so on average people will do better. Grade boundaries will be different due to the performance of each year depending on the exam so you can't be certain whether they are higher or lower
tbh i’m kind of stressed about physics aqa grade boundaries because they made a mistake in the paper, so they released a statement saying that everyone gets +9 marks to make it fair. would that not mean that the overall grade boundaries would be higher ?
This wouldn't play a factor as everyone's mark would increase by the same 9 marks so grade boundaries would probably go up but everyone's marks will too at the same rate so I wouldn't worry about this
it wont change what grade u get since everyone is getting 9 marks more lol
Random question : what is a EPQ ??????
An extended project qualification - it is like an essay which is marked on the final piece and planning which is equivalent to around half an A-level. I talked more about this in my A level results video
@@JadenYee Ahhhh okay . I’ll also watch that video . Thank you :)
what about a level?
I think it still applies so I'm expecting that results are generally higher than 2019
does this apply for iGCSE's as well? considering they're pretty much the same thing
Yes!
@@JadenYee :D thank you so much
Does this count for IGCSES ?
Yes!
What about A levels ? Just gcse
do you think it will be the same with october november session?
I would guess so but don't quote me
Is this for a level too?
If everyone finds the exams really easy do u think that the grade boj dairies may increase from2019
The grade boundaries could increase if everyone does a lot better than 2019 but a higher percentage of people will be getting higher grades since normally only a certain percent of students will achieve each grade
@@JadenYee thanks. Overall I'd say for 9/10 subjects I'm doing the exams are a lot easier than past papers. The only exception for me I'd say would be chemistry as I still found it a bit difficult similar to if I was to sit the 2019 one
What about IGCSEs
The same thing applies!
let’s say i didn’t try my hardest on paper 1 and 2 can i change my grades if i put my all into paper 3?
Yes
Yes of course!
Does this include the November 2022 session?
I would assume it would be the same or similar
Does this apply to october/november 2022?
Yes I would assume so
does this apply to international GCSE Edexcel
Yes!
@@JadenYee oh alright thanks
Will it be the same in October 2022
Not 100% sure but I would assume so
Is it also for igcses?
yes
Yes
Does this also apply to IGCSE
Yes!
👍👍
👍
Will the physics boundaries go up now
Every man saying physics paper 1 (gcse, Edexcel higher) was easy, seriously they couldn’t of made it easier, felt like I was doing a foundation paper! The last three questions everyone are going to get full marks as AQA added in not accessed topics by ‘mistake’ which is a joke, but hey they’re human.
So it’s going to be higher my predictions
It could be higher if everyone does well but a higher percentage of people will be getting higher grades since normally only a certain percent of students will achieve each grade
I don’t believe this.It will be easier to pass for the less able students which is good but the boundaries for higher grades will be much higher then before so for example this year 7 would be easier grade 8.The grades boundaries shounever be changed it actually show how unfair he U.K. system is
Does this apply for edexcel igcse?
Yes!
@@JadenYee Can you please tell what will be the grade boundary for 9 in Edexcel igcse 4BI1?It was 128 in January of this years
does this include igcse o levels?
Yes, IGCSE included!
Does this go for year 12 ?
Probably not for year 12 as your exams will be held internally compared to the public exams such as GCSEs
is there any possible way that the examiners can give generous grades for maths, since it's basically just what it says on the mark scheme? l
Generous grading meaning that there will be a higher percentage getting higher grades so even if you get a lower mark you may get more generously graded.
anyone got predictions for maths grade boundaries? 😅 edexcel
140 for a 7
Won’t people do better on exams due to advanced information and therefore more people will score higher meaning the grade boundaries would have to increase accordingly.
thats what im talking about
They might increase accordingly but a higher percentage of people will be getting higher grades since normally only a certain percent of students will achieve each grade
