Hi, I came over from Ask Sebby, and subscribed immediately. :) I've been to Japan multiple times over the past few years and stayed at different levels of hotels from capsule hotel/spa to Toyoko Inn to Comfort Inn to Marriott.
Might do a "worth it: $ vs. $$ vs. $$$" in the future haha :) We've done a lot of affordable ones in the past but not really worth a video in it's own right.
For me, I appriciate these more detailed City-Hotel reviews. You help us understand the market👍, for best choosing a hotel, and to value our own experience... Cheers🙂
Thank you for this content. Though I'm not staying at the ritz, your video helped me decide to book a dinner reservation at Mizuki for tempura! It's for a special occasion, so we'll go for the splurge!
You guys have been on a roll, really enjoying your videos recently they get me pumped up for my yearly travel plans lol You guys should check out the ritz carlton in key biscayne miami, i did a really amateur video tour of it on my channel if you want to get a glimpse but I highly recommend it. The spa and grounds are top notch and key biscayne is wayy calmer than south beach and safer.
🦁Great video! We like The Mitsui Hotel, which is also a Marriott property and gives a free breakfast to Platinum and higher guests. We didn't know that the RC provides a free breakfast, too, so might have to consider this for our next visit to Kyoto! Thank you!
Would I stay there? You don't even have to ask. 😉 Can I afford it? Now THAT'S another story. You make it look mighty tempting. I wonder if I should take out a 2nd mortgage on the house? 🤔 Video - 👍 LIKE Kanpai 🍻
Japan is still cheap at the current exchange rate, but I think that will be short lived as interest rates fall. I've visited when the exchange rate was nearer to US $1=¥100 and visited this year at a US $1=¥150 rate. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto is a bargain at 85k points. Many Japanese hotels provide five-star service in comparison to the US, but this was like ten. 👍
Love all the Japan content you guys are putting out.
one of my favorite hotels in kyoto. i love how close it is to the river, where you can take a nice relaxing walk.
another great review
Great review as always, would totally watch a video just about food, and Pokemon center was cool
Thanks!
🦁🦁🦁 Great content, Mandy!
Thanks! :)

🦁beautiful property and such interesting food options. I would stay there for sure.
Next trip! :)
A wonderful review. I will definitely stay there when I return to Kyoto! - a wonderful city to explore 🦁
Thanks for watching Patricia :)

Thanks for that :) Wasn't sure if people liked city ones haha
Those Pierre Herme croissants they serve at breakfast are 🔥
The best! 😋
Much more informative than some guys video I watched on a similar trip🤣🤣 👍🏾👍🏾
a solid reason to get the Bonvoy Brilliant
Yup, it's nice to get the automatic Platinum status!

Awesome! Enjoy :)
Oh as plat status, they provide breakfast? That's pretty rare for Ritz-Carlton.
Yes! One of the few Ritz-Carlton properties in the world that have complimentary breakfast for Platinum elite.
@MandyRoams Thanks. Are you aware of any other ritz in SE Asia that provides comp breakfast as well? Like Vietnam?
Sounds like a lot of SEA from this thread: www.reddit.com/r/marriott/comments/1bwjreq/do_any_of_the_ritz_carltons_offer_free_breakfast/

Yep! Definitely came as a surprise to us to! We were shocked since most RC/RCR don't provide breakfast for Platinum elites lol (as you know)

All you need are the right credit card points! 😉
