Penn State Students Rally with Riot Cops After White Out Victory Over #2 Ohio State 2016

- patrickcines.com/ After an incredible white out win over #2 Ohio State 24 - 21, Penn State students rally downtown in Beaver Canyon. Riot cops in cars, horses, and on foot disperse the crowd with mace, but not after students tear out several signs, lamp posts, and do some damage.

Thanks students for taking some of us back to the 80's when the goal posts used to literally walk out of Beaver stadium and then down College Ave. This was a magical night in Happy Valley!! And to anyone calling this a "riot", it was not a riot! It was truly a rally!! No stores were trashed and looted, no one was hurt. It was a lot of energy and excitement. And many of those taking down light posts were out there cleaning it all up in the morning! WE ARE...

B Cuz, a few light posts and street signs were damaged. 20, 000 of damages against all the money taken in by the borough and it's businesses over the whole weekend. Please! Average cost of a football weekend in State College is around $1,500 minimum. With 107,000 plus in town for the games, they are not losing any money believe me.

Did you not see the riot police or is it just me? Also, I don't see when wise old man said all black's should die, what I got from his comment are that most of the blacks shot at by police are criminals, which aligns perfectly with statistics. Also, both unarmed blacks and whites are being shot at the same rate: 3% of the population, each.
Crud Muffin There is a difference between a criminal and former criminal. Just because someone got into trouble in the past has nothing to do with why they were killed and doesn't change the fact if they were unarmed.

WTF! Was there in 1983 and we only tore down the goal post and marched it to Old Main. At least we were in the running for the national championship. This is vandalism for vandalism sake and is embarrassing.

Seems like a fairly tame riot. No burning or turned over cars, no windows broken, no fires, no looting of food or liquor stores. Of course, the city did lose a light pole or two.

I remember something exactly like this happening when i was there. It led to discussions about adding cameras to Beaver Canyon. I think that actually happened. Side note: This is exactly the kind of footage that could benefit from 360 degree video.

This is just one example of how the students ruin State College. Don't worry they won't pay for it, the tax payers and the permanent residents will. Penn State should be flipping this bill....for the damages, for county, and state law enforcement.

While I agree with you being a PSU student this is a little far, but $30,000 in damages is nothing.What Dino is talking about is the fact that State College ( and all the businesses) profit from having over 100,000 people in the area for a game, even if the damage was up to $100,000 this would still be no issue. Whether you like it or not this is a pretty tame celebration. Considering there are much worse universities or even cities for vandalism after a sports game (I'm looking at you WVU). The 11 people that were arrested are the ones who took it too far, and they paid the price. But just those arrests alone will cover the damages.
