Would you recommend getting a tune on a ZD30 direct injection that has just under 300,000, the motor has no issues, but would it be too old to tune it. I’ve heard some motors can grenade after being shoved with power after high kms
I would make sure all Nad mods have been put into that ZD30 direct injection. Then look at some engine upgrades but nothing extreme. The ZD30 Common Rail is a lot better for mods and reliability bUt I know some people still put NAD mods on them before upgrading.
@@DaveOLoughlan sounds like it hasn't been tuned properly unfortunately mate. They shouldn't use more fuel, they should use 5-10% less fuel. Give us a call on 0736380242 if you want to have a chat to one of our diesel experts about it.
Easy. After tuning, you will find that you no longer need to press the accelerator pedal as deeply/as far down to achieve the desired level of acceleration.
I have a 2011 Patrol and get almost zero airflow to the scoop with no bonnet protector, water on the bonnet barely moves when driving. If you want airflow through the intercooler, its either front mount or thermo fan under the cooler
Manufacturer specs are for the engine, this is how much power is at the wheels after the losses throughout the vehicle. NO power spec from manufacturer represents how much power is been truly made at ground level, always looks for ATW power figures.
@@theowenssailingdiary5239 it is all of it, however no dyno will ever read the same & no car on the same dyno will also read the same with each run. We have other videos on this topic. Cheers!

We would have to get it in to inspect it. Generally speaking 300k is a bit too high, but you just need to know the risks involved.
Whats the fuel usage after the tune my 2010 crd gu is bit heavy on fuel n its had a tune
That's generally driver-dependent. When did your Patrol get tuned? And did we tune it?
@UltimateDieselTuning no it was turned when I brought the patrol

How do you expect to get more torque AND improved fuel economy from a tune?
Easy. After tuning, you will find that you no longer need to press the accelerator pedal as deeply/as far down to achieve the desired level of acceleration.
Do you guys do turbo kit installation . I’ve got an old GU 1999
sorry mate, we don't work on those engines. Only the newer common rail turbo diesel engines.
Does a bonnet protector not restrict/divert airflow from a top mount intercooler?
If it sits up too high it will, this one was OK.

same as Paul.. water barely moves when driving
whats your closest tuner to newcastle nsw
We have dealers in the Sydney area if that's feasible for you?
Wasn't it a bit down on power to start with?
Specs show 116 KW and 353NM.
Do you have different factory tune in Australia?
Never go off figures - all dynos read differently, they are a tuning tool only, they are not accurate.
Its not on stock tyres thats why it already down on power

@@UltimateDieselTuning that's a crap answer, it's not dyno predominantly, it's the setup-tyres etc.
