Well done beautiful place!
My wife and I have a place up here specifically on lake manitou near moody bay. Evrer since I was 2 and half years old I went up and generated memories here, as well as a place to ground myself as well as heal. I'd argue that lake manitou has by far the best fishing in Ontario, as the lake is so clean and very little bost traffic. Becsuse it is a relatively deep lake (180 ft at it's deepest), trout fishing is very common and quite successful. Smallmouth bass fishing is good, as there are lots of rocky shoals. One thing that can be hazardous is the lack of navigation buoys on the lake (lateral, cardinal and special bouys), but once you know exactly where the shsols and single obstructions are, nautical charts are no longer needed. In the middle of summer, you can see as little as 5 boats per month, though near the Sandfield end there tends to be a bit heavier on the traffic. Sometimes I kill the engine and let myself drift from one end of the lake; such a beautiful experience. Lake is nearly 20 km, so great for exploring and just cruising in general. Water gets quite rough when choppy, but can be managed if one rides the waves from bow to stern effectively. This is a place that so many people recurringly come back to for more reasons than j can explain in this comment, but after 3p years of living on lake manitou in manitoulin island, you come to the realization that your intuition take control and you can only merely experience it but cannot explain using words.
You're very lucky to be able to spend so much time there, and to live on the Island! We loved our visit there for sure and will definitely be back.
