I watch every one of your videos. My cancer was 8cm and fortunately only stage 1. My Oncotype test came back as zero! Thanks so much for your content as I find it very helpful and informative. Wishing you all the very best 💕🙏🏻

Was it maybe 8mm versus 8cm?

I guess I’m lucky because the first thing my surgeons have told me is the stage of my cancer. Both have been stage 2; the latest bout was 2.3cm making it a stage two. I’m a firm believer in yearly mammos which can mean early detection. Women in general fear breast cancer and often forego yearly mammograms. I do what I can to get them in for testing.

Such a helpful description of the anatomical staging versus prognostic staging. Regarding Predict, I’m confused why the impact of chemotherapy and endocrine therapy are considered in calculating recurrence rate, but radiotherapy is not included? Is that true? I’ve understood that radiation is a key therapy and would like to know how it factors into prognosis. Appreciate your insights!

Thank you Dr O'Riordan, that is really helpful. Information about staging was gathered along the way in my case, T2 from MRI imaging early in Feb 2022, then I was prescribed Letrozole to try and reduce the tumor size to help with surgery in my small breast, then a positive lymph node was found in June 22 during a mastectory, so aftern the lymph node clearance that followed, with all the other lymph nodes being clear I learned that the status was N1. Finally I was offered for Oncotype DX genomic assay to be done on the original biopsy sample and that came with a 41 score so the oncologist showed me a graph that made pretty clear that chemo was worthwhile (reducing recurrence risk at 9 years from 33% to

Thank for this clear information. It would have been so useful and comforting on diagnosis while being bombarded with all those numbers. I will definitely go back and do some research with your info. All the best 😊

Thank you, thank you so much for your explanation of the staging. It never made sense to me and yes, it is complicated but I learned a little more.
I’m thrilled you are no longer stage 3! I really am.
I also want to congratulate you on being Woman of the Year. When I saw this I thought yes, yes!!! You couldn’t be more deserving of that honor. You’ve been my hero, my go to, ever since my diagnosis a year and a half ago. God bless you Dr. Liz❤

All your info is so helpful. As are the comments from your responders. I had to pay for my Oncotype test which came back 0. I have campaigned for it to be more widely available as the cost/ benefit of adjuvant chemo is pretty minimal. Could I ask that you do something about the PVA procedure which was available only at Guys and Marsden. But appears to have stopped now. It avoids lymphoedema which I think is crucial especially for young women who maybe afflicted with lymphoedema all their lives. I hope it can make the post treatment experience of women better. I am 75 and am really well post treatment. Loving that Onco test!!!

Great information. I asked several times and they were reluctant to say. I used the Predict but did not know the Ki-67 score. Looks like I’m a 1B thought it was a 2, so that’s better!

Thank you for your great informative content. One question regarding the AJCC 8th edition... Do you personally think age should be included in the prognostic stage?
My wife is 28 and has been diagnosed with ER+/PR+/HER2+ (triple positive) breast cancer. Anatomic stage 2B (1 positive lymph node), down-staged to prognostic stage 1B with the 8th edition.
However, most if not all publications seem to associate very young age (

Dear Liz, I have a question about cord formation after a mastectomy. What is the current status of research? Maybe you could make a video about it. I'm particularly interested in what I can do once the cordings have formed. I thank you in advance for your effort and commitment.
