    thats so dope bro. I have a TR-8s and was already set on adding a MC-707. I was thinking about a Roland MX-1 mixer but that system-1sounds amazing and may be a better investment than a mixer. I am an old 60 year young kid getting into this late in life so any advice greatly appreciated. Also ordered a used TB-03 and SH-01a. I hope they play nice with this gear. Your music really does sound dope bro. Has that tinge of acid with a cool groove. I love it.🤘

    NIce bro. Here, I've been using: TR-8S + Akai MPC One (as keyboard and to record live melody). Because TR-8s is a sound interface, I'm using Serum to synth midi sounds on MAC.

    the idea to put wood on keyboard's stand is brilliant, but how did you do it in angled position?

    • @Fharmer
      @Fharmer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a 3 tier stand so I removed the top tier and flipped it around so I don't bump into the bottom bars. It's height adjustable to so when I'm writing I use it sitting down and performing I use it standing up

  • @MatusFinchus

    Sorry a bit late to this - great stuff. I have the 707 and TR-8S. Would you recommend adding the System-1 to it? What do you find it adds to your overall production?

    • @Fharmer
      @Fharmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I wouldn't recommend the system one. I don't use it anymore it has too much of a digital tinny sound and no screen to dial things in numerically. I'm not sure if I'll ever incorporate a synth into the setup again I just use 707 and TR8S now

    • @MatusFinchus
      @MatusFinchus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fharmer Cheers! Really appreciate your advice. 👍👍

    • @Fharmer
      @Fharmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you set up your knobs on the 707 to control release and you use a lot of delay on the synths tracks you can get much better sound just with the 707

    • @MatusFinchus
      @MatusFinchus ปีที่แล้ว

      @Fharmer Nice. It is a SUPERB synth when you start tinkering with partials and the sound editing. I love the meatiness of the TR-8S's drums, too. I have a JX-08 and a classic JV1080 (and a UNO SYNTH) alongside so I pretty have most of what I need... ...until I see something new I like hehe.

    cool sound! how did you connect the system 1, tr-8s and mc 707? Thanks

    • @Fharmer
      @Fharmer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks! I run the system-1 audio into the external input on the mc707. The midi for the s1 is sent from track 3 on the 707. The 707 then sends it's master out to the external in on the tr8s. The tr8s sends master audio out to the recording device.

    Hi Matt really cool I just got a 707, system 1 and mx1 interested to know how did you sync the system 1 with the other gear?

    • @Fharmer
      @Fharmer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes. My 707 is the master. I use track 3 on the 707 to write the midi sequences for the system 1. Then I send the audio from the 707 and the s1 into the tr8s. The tr8s sends the final combined audio out. The tr8s is slaved to the 707. So only start and stop messages are sent. I wrote patterns on the tr8s for each song on the 707 and change them manually on the tr8s.

      @@Fharmer Thanks man. I just got my hands on a second hand one last night.
      Time to dig into it.

    • @Fharmer
      @Fharmer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can only fit like 8-10 songs in a project file. So a 1-1.5 hour live set requires me to hit stop and load new project files twice. That's a big loss. There needs to be a "next project" feature like on the mpc

    • @tricks-and-tips
      @tricks-and-tips 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fharmer
      Yeah, it feels like they missed that part where you want to mix 2 songs together.
      You sort of need 2 707's to be able to do that.
      Especially with the longer project loading times it will probably not be something they can implement easily (it will hit the max capabilities of the 707 quickly when they have to play 2 projects at the same time).
      But who knows, they have made some interesting updates already.

    U need the MX1. Save those midi cables

    • @Fharmer

    • @markchristopher2signal2
      @markchristopher2signal2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Fharmer I understand.. There's a two tier(dj rack) and it's perfect . if you get the MX1 you'll enjoy those mutes, solos, scatter(and this scatter feature is melodic), and it just connects, no midi wire..and it's quiet.. I really like it because I have two Aira's.
