Thats a bummer. I saw this behaviour on another video but honestly thought it would be normal. Are the minimoogs reliable or require much service in general? I mean in terms of calibration over the years. I guess the new re-issues should be a more painfree owning experience.
I think they changed the aftertouch/midi board for this version over the 2016 and that's where the design flaw crept in. If I lived 5-6 hrs from Asheville, I would just drive it there rather than mailing it and make a day trip out of it. Who knows how long you will be able to visit the Moog store there too. I don't use the aftertouch much at all on my 2016, as it's more useful, to me at least, on polys. Also, an added note, I would defintely look into grabbing a spare power brick with connector cable for the mini while you can still get them. Best to have it stuck away for the future.

So sorry for you. I love your sincerity and genuine personality. Look up maybe one day the thorn becomes a rose! Maybe one day the gated after touch will be the bomb. But any don't let this stop you from making great music with it. I have #17, I'll check it i the morning. I can't believe how great this synth sounds. So far I like it much more then my Voyager. I will try running the the aftertouch trough an attenuator to see is that helps any. Hang in there bro
i had another issue with my minimoog, the keys on first octave was creaked and rested on a piece of wood from above, I disassembled it, trimmed the keyboard legs a little and now everything works fine) woodwork sometimes bend over time
I saved up for a new 2022 Moog model D and ultimately decided to pass. I just don't trust the build quality. Its crazy they couldn't build 1960's technology.
It's actually better built than the ones in the late 60's and early 70's! Those use to not stay in tune for long and lots of the parts were cheaper than the reissue. I've had my mini for almost two years, tour all over the country with it, and no problem :)
I haven’t had this issue on mine. Does anyone know if this is an issue that will eventually occur or hit and miss with the units specified? I hate to send it in if it’s not necessary.

Check the serial number. If it’s above 1100 you should be good!
