Im honestly happy that its a squadron. I can grind it, get it and grind it out while playing with my friends instead of me grinding for another 6 months to get the SU-27
The Su-33 looks like it will be the strongest 13.0 in the game due to its outstanding weapons loadout. The first problem is that 13.0 planes are all in a bad way because they often face top-tier planes and lack all the tools needed to fully compete with the plane, so being the best 13.0 doesn't mean the plane will do great overall. The second problem is that it is a squadron vehicle. I personally like that it is because it gives players a good opportunity to fly a unique and interesting Russian jet. The downside is that you will get a great number of pilots who are inexperienced at top-tier and inexperienced with Russian aircraft in general. It will be a rough plane for a new player to learn top-tier on because of the steep learning curve.
It sucks more having to grind a whole techtree just to unlock a single desired vehicle. Su-33 being a squadron vehicle was a good choice in my opinion. AND last but not less important, you can test fly it, wich is something dirty casuals (like me) usualy spend hours doing.
Honestly? I'm fine with it being a squadron vehicle. No R-77s means it will suffer in a fully populated match. Being a missile boat doesn't count for much if you have to stay actively locked onto and committed to a target. Being a squadron vehicle means I don't have to grind it; it's there for anyone interested. Now, bring on the Su-35. ;)
oh, its a squadron vehicle, means you can grind something else WHILE you grind it. not only that, you can grind it playing other gamemode and still get XP. indeed Mr Tankenstein. it sucks...
What we need is more decompression. This thing is literally worse than the Su-27, don’t get me wrong because it is still not bad. The two extra ER missiles don’t make up for the loss in maneuverability. Everyone who has played any flankers (I have all 4 in game, and I got the Su-33 in the dev) will conclude that flying low at around 900-1000km/h is the key to it’s survival. The 33 is too heavy and cumbersome to do that, the full throttle without afterburner is not as powerful as in the 27, which means if you get used to putting in 100% and cruise low altitudes in the 27, it doesn’t transfer to how you fly the 33. In literally 1 turn you can drop below 500km/h. Again, more missiles are only good when you have the chance to use them. Having 6 SARH missiles doesn’t mean you can launch all 6 especially against the AHR users. And, defensively, it is just heavy enough to fail the notch compared to the 27. It will seal club the F-4S and Mirage F1s don’t get me wrong, just not any better than the Su-27. Granted, it is actually pretty lackluster IRL as well, but that’s my whole point about decompression. It shouldn’t be able to seal club the F-4S, and it shouldn’t meet top tier Fox-3 users as well. Putting it at the same BR as the 27 is ok, but it is only slightly weaker, not stronger, at least in my opinion. Edit: the MiG-29G was pretty good before Su-27 and F-4F KWS moved down, but it’s mid now. Su-33/27should be at least 0.3 higher than the 29G. And IMO the N001 on the Su-33 is literally the benchmark of THE average radar. It doesn’t rotate, the range is average, the variety of search modes is nothing unique, everything is pretty standard. The RWR is slightly above average compared to others from 12.0-13.7 yet still nothing to brag about.
Like I said on another video, it being a squadron vehicle is the best possible scenario. Its not good, period. Su27S but heavier, more missiles, but same bad radar, canards meaning high aoa will stall you, and 13.0 (potentially 13.3) with no fox 3 will be absolute 🐶💩, PERIOD. Anyone disputing that is delusional. It could have been a premium, but it would have recieved more backlash. If it was a tech tree one after yak 141, people would have grinded it out, realised they wasted their time because its not good, and it would have become this obnoxious block for progression for further vehciles in naval line. At least now its can collect dust as a squadron vehicle instead of wasting space in tech tree. Not sure why these youtubers have such problem with this
As a US main who loves Russian jets this is kinda poggers, I can grind it out without completing another entire nation or shelling out $80 to the snail
Honestly, from my perspective, the Su-33 is pretty underwhelming. Yes it can carry 12 missiles, but so can the Su-27SM which has the R-77. Maybe we should wait for the Su-30.
It’s DOA. Worst part is it’s still gaijins shitty FM of the jet and it’s gonna be even worse since it’s heavier. Yknow it doesn’t have to be a 1-1 with the agility and speed acceleration and much much less drag. But they can least not murder it so it’s least fun. I can deal with subpar radar and missiles, but having least nothing going for you (probably bc us mains flip their shit when a non is vehicle gets a buff. God forbid) it’s really hard to justify playing the flankers or migs outside of just spite.
Okay I am not dissing anyone but why is su 33 being a squadron vehicle a problem? I am a relatively new player... And I don't have the Russian tree unlocked so even then I can play the jet...
Because you cannot grind it normally, you can only get a max of 20k squadron RP per day, and depending on how much RP it'll take to research it, it could take up to 10+ days to get it. So you either pay GE to research it, which you shouldn't, you're just gonna be feeding the snail, which is bad, or it'll take an insane amount of time to acquire a plane you could grind out in...3 days at most
@@lukenicholas5140 No, I absolutely agree that new players should be able to get to top tier, Gaijin actively only promotes the top tier and that is the thing that brings new players to the game, it's why I'm actively against the current grind and they desperately need to cut it down in half at least, I don't like that new players have to buy premiums to play the part of the game that is advertised. The thing about squadron vehicles is that although they are an avenue for new players to get to the higher tiers, it's basically a time gate for anyone already at top tier.
dont get us wrong you playing the jet is almost the problem new players dont have enough experience yet with props how it feels how to fly and position or what to do even and its like giving a toddler a multi million dollar death machine (only for the toddler to probably eat a tree while flying it) the problem is giving something requiring experience to people who dont have to work for it {and it fucks over people like me who grinded the su 27sm yesterday)

Glad its a squadron vehicle.
Its arguably less of grind because its a squadron vehicle
Yeah same. I can actually play with my friends now😂
Me to
@@donnym3415same my friend use the su27 alot
@ilikewarhawk890 1 runs Russia, 1 one Germany and the others runs US lol

They need to increase the squad point cap with all of these squadron vehicles
i agree, you need to grind atleast 3 months to get a squad vehicle usually

I wish it got the R27EA
They could have made it premium... would sell like candy
I think we have enough of that sort

This has to be the best squadron vehicle in the game, its defenitly interesting
Bmp2m is the best
@EL_CHPP0 true, su-33 is 2nd best
I wouldn't call afkining a squad for 2 months and getting it for free an ''intense grind wall'' just saying.

is it supposed to have half the countermeasures? EDIT: looking online suggests it does have half the countermeasures
Pretty early eh?

Hi
Noice
DOA
No PAY2WIN above 12.0...
Apart from the fact you can instantly buy a squadron vehicle lul
pay2win? yeah it's super heavy and has no fox3's at 13.0 "lul". IRIAF is a way bigger problem than this one.
Su-33 will be dog shit it's just a su-27 but 3 tons havier with 2 more non competetive aams and 48 flares.
Do we know when the update is coming
bruh
Copy paste su 27
war thunder air is sooo lame
