  • Watch a B52 bomber take off from RAF Fairford for a flypast after being on display at the Royal International Air Tattoo. The strategic bomber then returned to base to join another B52 that arrived the day before. Both are staying in England for another flypast on Friday, while other B52s are deployed to Romania.
The B52 Stratofortress 'Junkyard Dog' arrived at RAF Fairford for the Royal International Tattoo on Wednesday, July 17th, under the callsign 'Skull 20'. RAF Fairford is a standby bomber airfield for the US Air Force in Europe and thus the bomber remained after the show had ended so it could conduct a flypast of the Farnborough International Air Show on Wednesday, July 24th. Another is scheduled for Friday. This was after all other aircraft at RIAT had gone home and the event was being dismantled, as seen in the video.

'Junkyard Dog' was joined by another B52 on Tuesday, July 23rd. Both have travelled from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, USA. Meanwhile, two more B52s have been deployed to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Romania on Bomber Task Force 24-4.
