"I want to make a clock with tons of gears. Never worked with clocks, never worked with gears"
I've never been so proud of someone within 20 seconds of seeing them for the first time!
Link to STL files is incorrect
That’s incredible! Cool challenge!
I can't wait to make this on my new Sovol SV07 plus.
It's going to make a great piece to display at work!
quite amazing!!!
Nice clock. Enjoyed the video
Amazing job on this man, I love that it has a 24h dial. Looking forward to seeing the stepper motor build.
I have printed and built a number of clocks, mostly by Steve Peterson. I like some of your design concept - will purchase the plans when you have it completed.
Nice work man, nice vid.
Gorgeous! (fwiw if u make another video for the stepper motor version I for one would enjoy hearing more about the mechanical engineering principles you had to learn to finish this project, as well as design choices, gear ratios and so on. Clocks are fascinating! I bet there are a ton of things to learn from a project like this).
i admire your courage and persistence... but does it work
Awesome.
Looking interesting! :)
Thangs link appears to be broken :-(
Glad to see that Jonathan can also make mistakes 😄 Love the final result!
Lovely design, the unanswered question is does it keep accurate time? And for how long?
OK, definitely going to build the stepper motor version of this...
I love precission
Great looking clock. It should run so much better with stepper motors that move exactly how much you tell them to move. A DC motor by itself is super simple, but it becomes more complex when you have to add encoders and control exactly how fast they move. Looking forward seeing the next progress.
It's kind of awesome the design error was discovered by inspecting the gear simulation. The pain could have been so much worse.
An excel sheet helps a lot
Great design and would love to print it, what size of skateboard bearings where used? Inner diameter x outer diameter x hight?
Can you let me know the size and number of the bearings used, also have you found another stepper motor before I place an order for your original one. Great design and project.
Your Stl file is missing.
Where are the stls
Came across this clock today and would love to print it but the files are no longer available. Either way, thank you for including the parts where you...huh huh... let's say, adjusted the design process. 🙂 It's important to understand that it's not always perfect the first time. Thank you.
are the STLS's released for this clock somewhere please, I am fascinated by gears and movement
how did u calibrate it so that the gears start in the right position?
why on day whell miss "8" and "2" colored number on 20? you can fix it on your stl?? and please where i can buy this steel whels?
Very. Nice design. Is it working as it should? You never really showed if it is accurate. Oh and the thangs-link to the st-files is not working anymore. Thank for correcting and an answer.
If you added another gear, you could gear it for a lunar month vs a solar day, and have a hand to show you what the tide will be. Also, why not add a 1:10 step-down at the motor instead of rebuilding the whole design?
I can’t find the price of the design and it says that this item is not available in you location. Any ideas?
Makes gear addon 0:17 “ive never worked with gears” righhht jonathan 😂
It's funny, isn't it 🤣. I've spent an insane amount getting precision gears made yet I've never done anything will gears but now 😅
@@Keep-Making 😂im really impressed with ur first project with them tho literally so cool
U r awesome
And your awesome!
@@Keep-Making😢😢😢😢😢😢 no files
What happened to these files? Followed the link to a 404 :(
The question that immediately comes to mind is, how do you set it?
Computer vision camera connected to the board which also runs thr motor at the back connected to the time server. Motor spins till time matches.
This would be most ideal
I bet setting the time is a real pain.
I made a clockmon
Is it remotely accurate?
Taken down the files, might as well delete the video too.
Hobbyists spend days, weeks, even months working on a project, so questioning "life choices" from a day's work is kinda weird tbh. Unless you were joking (I hope....).
So damn janky
Interesting design, however, gotta give you a thumbs down, man. I can manage the assembly, even though you don't seem to have a drawing or order with the STLs. The inner diameter of the gears are 6mm, while the bearings ID is 8mm, and the frame pieces like the "Front Middle Support" are 9mm. This seems to necessitate lot of rework, assuming I am understanding how these are to go together ( the "STL for Gears Of Time" link in this video description ). Sorry. I mean, you do hint at this rework by using the dowels. I'm deciding whether to try and rework these pieces or look for another clock design. I looked in Maker Tales Discord, but didn't see any help.
Hi. I love this and I really want to remake this but the STL file is missing. Is there a way I can get a hold of it? Pretty please
would love to print this clock, have just followed you on instagram, have my own 3D printing workshop, youtube channel, tiktok following and instagram following and the clock would get some great exposure on my channels
