  • My multimeter lcd have annoying big black spot on it. That made me hard to read number, so I decided to fix it without paying money because the multimeter cost not high.
This method not cost you at all because the material I used was in my bin.

Thank you for the video. Excellent idea. I have repaired the LCD display of my laser distance meter (DLE 40 Bosch make). For more brighter display I have used aluminum foil as back reflector instead of white paper. I have used iso propyl alcohol for removing the glue layer. I have always thought that the problem is within the LCD plates and so not repairable. Your video has shown that the back reflecting layer is the one that get degraded. The aluminum coating in that layer is actually getting oxidized and losing the reflecting property and forming a dark patch. Thank you again.

But at last it's done by peeling reflective screen on the back of the LCD, I've not scratched it's back, and replaced reflective screen with a photo paper which more shiny than normal A4 paper. Thanks for the useful video.

I thought I'd give this a go but gave up in the end. The reason why, the silver backing on the LCD was practically like a thin film of paint, even though it was obviously a self adhesive backing layer that had been stuck on. It would have been too problematic, messy and time consuming to try to remove. I stopped after just removing a tiny bit of the corner of the backing and reassembled and luckily it was still working as before with the faulty screen. I guess they manufactured multimeters LCDs differently at some point, as mine did not just peel off like the one in the video.
