Nice drone👍 I love syma. X5c was my first drone in 2016 and I loved it! Ive learned a lot on it, just like you said, but there is so many options now in $200 budget range: Jjrc x17 (2axis gimbal). Eachine ex4pro (3axis gimbal) , ZLRC SG906 pro(3acis), JJrc f11 pro (2axis), Xiaomi fimi a3 (2axis gimbal) , LYZRC L900 & many others

I think it’s definitely better than the junk sky viper I started with but I’m still going to recommend the mini for starters lol. Thanks again for the review
Haha hey craig, something a bit simpler may be a lot friendlier to someone getting started. The mini of course is a dream with its gimbal and solid flight characteristics.

Syma x5c is $40 bucks and worth the money for a starting out. $180 for a Symax500 should be sold for $60 and that's pushing it. I understand you have to review it and I'm glad because people can see what to buy and in this case what not to buy. Thank you.

Robert hey thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! Awesome! It’s not a bad size. For indoors you can save some coin and not get gps. There are better flying SYMA quads than this one to be honest.
I maxed this one out on height and it surprised me. Video on my channel
I just got this drone... flew it with no phone at first, basically flew around in the fields around me.
Decided to ascend higher, then the small breeze turned into a wind and blew the drone about 500 feet away into an adjacent field, I was messing up the controls 🤣🤣
Luckily, I was able to catch up to it and get it to safely descend below the wind... after that I spent both batteries flying it around and having a blast.
It was easy to set up and learn, just make sure it is a calm day.
haha is it the controls, the wind, or the cheapo drone... that was the game i was playing.
@@Quadcopterguide it is a cheap drone and the App has issues. However, i use it for training purposes for those that get their first drones and don't want to ruin their own. I have since upgraded my own collection and have drones that can handle winds . The holy stone,raptor8k, and black falcon are awesome.
Met a guy building one that can do barrel rolls and flips, it's huge and loud though. It's even set up for 2 way talk.
i just got this drone for free and it is really nice, only problem is that batteries take really long to charge for only a little fly time but that was expected with this drone

Took a part 107 course, finished, ready to test... COVID, testing centers shut down... JOY!... They are now opening up again and I'm still looking for a first drone. This isn't it but I appreciate the video and information.

Short term: Learn to fly, get experience and obtain part 107 - Long Term: work as a drone pilot in remote locations performing inspections, be that LIDAR on pipelines or Thermal on Electrical Transmissions Lines or construction or land mapping and surveying or something similar. I'll retire in a few years and would like a 2nd career that involves a lot of traveling around to remote locations.

A good basic beginners drone, but I agree the X5 or Lidi RC are the best way to learn how to learn to fly and use to learn how to use the remote control

i'd honestly recomend the mini 2 as a starter drone, upgrade to mabye the air 2. never starts with the spark
I started with the spark. A year later and It’s still missing the back rudder. 🤣 Mavic is the way.

Hi just wanted to say overall good video but I noticed a important mistake. this drone does have brushless motors. i have one and checked it also if you refer to the amazon item description it clearly states that it has brushles motors. this is an important selling point. you may want to amend your review. please feel free to let me know if im wrong.

When items have a choice between 2.4 G and 5G, they don't mean ___ vs 5-G(eneration). It means 2.4 GHz band, or 5 Ghz band. Just like your home wireless network. 2.4 or 5.

hey john, that is a good question. Syma did say they are working on a brushless drone, stay tuned.
I was having trouble setting up mines, until I watched your video, the only issue I’m having now is that the controller is not operating the drone, only the app on my phone, any suggestions what is causing that…. Thanks

I can afford up to $300, but I’m a beginner so the xc5 was my starter choice , then I would go with xc500
very cool I love the X5 class. For $300 you could also look for a used mavic mini 1. The x500 that I had didn't seem that solid in a hover. Maybe mine was a bit off though. Who knows.
Please help me with the specification of CW motor specification of Syma Z6 Drone... It uses 8520 coreless motor... 7.6V lipo battery... But what is the RPM and the Motor VOLTAGE... one of my CW motor is not working after hard crash as the propeller was blocked from spinning.. I want to replace it... Spares are not available in INDIA... PLease help sir... Note: Z6/ X30/ X500 drone shares the same 8520 motor.

Drones are cool but u can only fly when the wind is just right too strong and hard to control my first drone basically rode the wind I had no control over it once I got high enough wind would push it forward even if I was hovering I could only fly it straight up and down if I moved forward and trying turning or banking left or right to avoid something the wind would just continue to push it towards what I was trying to avoid

Couldn’t figure out how to connect it. Where is the drones power button? I only saw the button on the battery. The app says to connect it to wifi but when I follow the link it says to click there is no wifi option

How to remove the propellers?

Syma has not been the best a god on the drone from past experience. Bur with out question they build a solid drone.

The app will not connect with the drone. The 2 times I actually got it to record, the quality was terrible and I couldn't save the video or share it in any way. Flying outdoors was terrible and the controls went bad and I was unable to fly it back to me!

I’m a simple man a beginner drone to me would be just turning drone on turning controller on and go no calibration no pairing just charge turn on and go no turning it horizontal and vertical to calibrate gyros

It's not a 5G capable phone they talking about. It's the wi-fi protocol that you need wich is 5Ghz and that antenna is just a phony one and tog don't need to pull out up at all because it makes nothing.

DUDE NO WAY LOL that looks like a complete knockoff of the holystone hs175 it may be that they just switched the drone shell and kept everything else because it LOOKS exactly the same as the hs175
Actually you will find it's the other way round! There is no such thing as a "Holy Stone" drone - they are all just rebrands of Chinese products. Same for Rage, TopRace, Sonik, Propel, Promark, Vivitar, and a hundred others.

Your phone has 5ghz wifi. It doesn’t have 5G cellular. 5G cellular has nothing to do with the drone.

This drone is really bad and should cost $50 because of the crappy camera and brushed motors> My bugs b20 EIS drone is much better than this drone because it shoots 4k has brushless motors and also is under $200 but overall not bad if the price is right!
