Thank you for highlighting the use of camlink - I've been connecting my DSLR through the USB port alone. With that I bought the $20 HDMI video capture card but didn't understand how to use it, but with a couple extra videos I think I understand now.

@@alxmajesticc Yes, all you have to do is download the free software that will allow Webcam usage without a cap card or SD Card. I have a Cannon so I just downloaded the EOS Utility 3 software and it saved me $100.

First, I love your videos. Extremely helpful, informal, and detailed without a lot of blah blah blah. Second, I wanted to follow your advice about using my DSLR camera: a Nikon D5100. I got the cable, I installed Nikon Webcam Utility, I installed OBS, I plugged it into a USB3 input, I here the USB connect sound when I turn it on . . . BUT I can't get any program, including OBS adding a new source - video capture device. Unless you have an idea, I'm giving up, and resorting to my Logitech C920.

I've got questions: The more devices one plugs in to stream (some wireless microphones, a second camera) the more stress is put on the CPU? I know the answer may be obvious but this friend of mine wants to stream the preaches of her church and had a bad time with her current setup, she said she had a wired internet connection so I thought the thing would be her pc specs, which she tells me are from a "kinda old pc". So i told her I would look for a good computer to match her needs, but on a budget, they're a bit expensive right now in my country. So...
Would a today Core i5 or Ryzen 5 with integrated graphics, 8gbs of RAM and an SSD be enough? Or should I also look for a dedicated graphics card and a minimum of 2gb VRAM, in which case the budget goes even higher?
I ask as I haven't really done streams and don't know what the core components in this operations are, if it's the quantity of CPU cores and their speed or the SSD for the video input or if the VRAM and gpu take a major involvement.

The short version is that you Click on the gear for your audio source in OBS, click advanced audio properties, and you will see a section there were you can input a video or audio delay for each source. Depending on whether your video or your audio is a head, you can add a delay to the slower one.
