Did you not need a machine to fill the fluid back up. I keep getting told by my father that i need a machine for that and my brother says otherwise. I keep trying to find answers but you the closes i found. TIA!

Yup,non servicable filter guys. This is a 2007 mazda CX7 2.3 DISI . These are 6 speed automatic tranmissions and they are a bitch to work on. The pan is front facing on the trans instead of on the bottom like the 2.5 version. These transmissions are notoriouse for slipping,delayed shifts,erratic shifting,hard shifts,getting stuck in one gear and not going into reverse. The only thing you can do is do fluid changes and often. If these arent serviced regularly from the start dont flush them bc they will def slip bc all that sludge is keeping the clutches full of friction particles.I did a drain and fill and put lucus no slip in mine bc it wasnt cared for properly from the start. I reccomend just doing a drain and fill and adding 12oz of lucas stop slip. Make sure not to overfill. Usually 4 quarts come out when you drain. Measure what comes out and replace. Substitute 12oz of the JWS -3309 fluid for the lucas or 24oz if you want to use the whole bottle of lucas stop slip. Poor design for a transmission for sure. Also replacing all those shift solenoids on the valve body is recomended. Been there with this transmission. Im putting a crate trans in soon bc the one currently was just not taken care of and its intracate so i dont trust a rebuild.

Oh dear what a silly and stupid engineering.. should some one take a legal action against those who market a poor compact design with cheep imported engine/powertrain as a compact hard to reach for any parts replacement , a sort of cheating with junk imported compact fittings.. This type of car cannot inter in my country
I know your post was two yrs ago but imo things like this are purposely designed so the average Joe Blow cannot do the work themselves. Reason being MONEY as in return to the dealer for servicing but short of a removal and tear down they can't do anymore then Joe Blow. And unless one researches they don't know this unless after getting it to the dealer where they tell u they cannot change the filter short of an expensive R&R and tear down. I'll never believe these transmissions can't be designed so changing the filter doesn't require all the crap involved today.

It's done like that on purpose by design because majority of people aren't capable of pulling the transmission out their vehicle change something simple like a filter and so you got to pay someone 90$/hour to do it

My 1989 Nissan Maxima has the filter the same way as that transmission.
