Nice to see you two! How's fishing been? How's the charting been? Sorry we haven't been by your channel or any channels, even more busy than before. We've talked about it and trying to free time up! Missed watching them....
Actually it was a STUNNING DAY! Perhaps 35-45 bites, many biting 1-2 times then stopping. Nice to put a keeper on the board!

I live a river's width from the capitol of Calipornia and a stones throw from Miller's Park and have since I moved up here from San Francisco in January of 1986. I used to fish for stripers all over the Greater Bay Area, in the bay and outside the gate from Santa Cruz to McClures Beach and beyond with everything from 8 1/2' fly rods to 11' surf rods and with 8 lb. test spinning and 12 lb. test bait casting gear in between. I just read an article where "Experts" are warning bathers to not go in the water downstream from a homeless encampment on a river that emties into the San Joaquin River because of the effluent from the "Unhoused Encamper's". I posted the following a few days ago and I hope your and/or someone over there will ask your city waste water managers if Sacramento's storm water is treated first, or just washed into the river along with the sidewalk leaving from the homeless? Here's what I posted:
Good Lord; are "Experts"just getting around to making the connection about water born diseases and the homeless population of San Francisco and the greater Bay [or any other metropolitan] Area? As an avid fisherman who used to also live, fish and play music for a living there, I've been worried about something like this for several years now. You have to understand that it's not just humans swimming downstream from a homeless encampment on a river that is a problem, but it is much more wide spread and, I believe, far more dangerous. Every community has two waste water systems, the one for the population's sewage waste that goes to their sewage treatment systems and the other one for runoff from rainstorms that goes directly into the bay and/or a river feeding into it. One of the ways every community that has an "Unhoused Situation" deals with the effluent they leave on the sidewalks, etc., is by having city workers out in the areas where they are using public sidewalks and parks, plazas, etc,. to relieve themselves using hoses to hose the disease laden leavings down the nearest storm drains so they can say they're "Cleaning up the city". I think you know where it actually goes next. Now, there have been reports for over two/three years now about strange toxic algae blooms around the piers and docks that somehow, the "Experts are baffled" over where they're coming from. ("Baffled", or just afraid to find out?) Although I now live a 100 miles away from there and upstream, my fishing is negatively impacted. It's not just the local sedentary types of fish that live in the bays and the immediate downstream areas of their cities storm drains, but there are fish, Salmon, both King and Silver; Striped Bass and Sturgeon who are anadromous - they spawn in fresh water then go to the sea for a period of time, depending on their cycles, before returning to the rivers again to spawn. That means every time they pass through these effluent infected waters going and coming they're not only exposed to whatever is suspended in the water, but they eat whatever is living in that environment year 'round that they normally would. That means the anadromous fish you catch in Sacramento or Redding, for example, are just as likely to be infected with whatever is being washed into the bay as if they lived there all year long. That's because if what they eat is infected, they, being higher up on the food chain, will consume whatever their prey fish, mollusks, etc. have consumed times the number of them that are infected that they eat.

Thanks much for the comment John! Man I'd have some questions to ask you! heh... one thing we haven't done yet is hit the Bay's. It's been in the works but time has been the enemy. As for the Miller Park yeah the place is a sweet spot to fish. From our limited experience there. One thing for sure finding spots to fish in the Delta from shore. Not too easy! Outside of the water issues you're concerned about surely hope you enjoy the fishing in the Valley and now you're closer to the Sierra Nevada Mountains!
As for the water yeah I hear you. I don't personally have the time to go too much into the issue but agreed. Easy for us to point out such issues, but there's endless tasks to be done, and more often than not with some of those they don't get the attention/devotion they should perhaps due to funding/manpower/research. I also hope they get the water ways cleaned up. I always thought this land would have been better protected in the Native Americans hands. Perhaps I'm wrong. My family, we come from Sicily. So not much to do with us.... yeah I know Columbus heh.
I did always figure that running "meat" tests, is best before harvesting the meat. For at least Hard Metals. Side note, we hope you're enjoying the fishing videos! Oh reminds me... here is a video we filmed which in a way has a bit to do with your topic. Rather RARE video for this rare from what I hear. Rather epic also.... here's the video friend...

@@hershisadventuresincalifor9725, It works. As to the salmon situation and also the one I've brought up, I believe this man had politicians from both sides of the pond in mind, what with their love affair with bloated, lethargic bureaucracies, when he opined: "You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else." -Winston Churchill.

Recon I can see that. Music was actually of my choice (Ken). I lived in many countries and been around the world to a degree. Many and lost many friends. Had more hobbies then I can speak of and speak two languages. My bad, point I just enjoy many walks of life and types of music. Plus try to supply you all with variety. Each song rather hand picked. Often TRYING to line up events in the video with the music.
Thanks boss, do hope you enjoy them! Personally I think the next one coming out in 1-3 days is rather sweet. The location... STUNNING... the action RAPID! But... different type of fishing! Have a good one...

You know boss, this is ironic. Fairly sure late night last night I bumped into one of your videos. Normally we don't fish up that way, but think we're going to start. It's a sweet spot I think. Get this... that guy "Ben" when I asked him if it was Rocky in the water (as he's in waiters) he said "nope, it's all sand". No wonder we get nearly no snags! Unlike Rio Vista.
Heh thanks on the Keeper... we started hooking up once keeping the poles in hand. Tight lines...

We were chatting and didn't notice them coming. They were nearly twice as large for a moment. We would have been swept off our feet. For sure more vids to come David!

Thanks good buddy, means a lot! I must say we consider ourselves lucky to have people like yourself watching the fishing videos we produce. As for Folsom.... is that not by Sacramento? Not too far from areas we fish!
Yes sir, indeed it is. Just find it's a versatile line. We often fish Trout, Bass, Catfish, Bluegill & Striper on them. I do admit it's a tad thin for fishing Stripers heh. Think we should use 15 for Striper & 4 for Bluegill. If you don't mind, what do you fish for?
P.S. the two larger poles I do believe were 8 pound test, others were 6.

I usually fish the Sierra trout streams Capels Creek, South Fork America r
River, Hat Creek up by Mt. Lassen. Lake Natoma is practically my backyard, but haven't got much into fishing it or the Sacramento River area. After seeingyour videos, I'mgoing to expand out and start to learn these areas. Stripped Bass is one of the best tasting and best fish to fry imop. I need to get in on some of that action.😉

@@shanevision Man right on for posting that! Umm yeah areas we don't visit. Thou in years past I used to Snow Ski Mount Lassen. They don't offer it anymore sadly.
Funny you'd like to get into the Stripers and I'm game for some natural river Trout fishing. LOVE Striper fishing thou heh. Really I've not ate a Striper yet. I was guessing they were bland like many other fish. If not, that's sweet news! We got some in the freezer. Now Trout & Salmon do have flavor (btw do the Natural River Trout have the same strong taste as say a Lassen Trout, same types they stock in Camanche & Amador lakes?
I'll send you some Striper fishing ideas/locations in the next comment to you.

@@shanevision We're learning Striper spots ourselves but. Antioch has a Large Pier and a Smaller Pier. Course you got Rio Vista with a Pier and a Dock. Then you have Sherman Island & Bradon Island. Also can get them in Stockton at very end of 8 mile road, Westgate Landing Regional Park in Lodi, then Miller Park in Sacramento (spot in this video). Let me know if that helps some....
