    I guess Vertical extension is adding new category and Horizontal is adding new product in same category. This is opposite of what you said, please correct me if I'm wrong. (Source - Zero to One - Peter Theil)

Please feel free to check :) As I have not read the book you mentioned, I would like to understand more! Maybe it is just different context.
