It was a great reminder for me as a photographer that I have been making the right choice regarding going with my gut instinct to keep my portraits timeless instead of trendy regarding photo editing trends, color grading etc. Fun fact, when I was a high fashion model in my 20's I modeled for Christian Dior and I had my photo made with Bernard Arnault when his company aquired Dior in the early 90s. I was modeling a Christian Dior ensemble to represent Dior and I was posing next to Monsieur Arnault and behind us was a large champagne waterfall as the backdrop which represented another brand his company owns, Moet Chandon. The photo was published in Women's Wear Daily.

The psychology of this is quite interesting. But Saks annual revenue is $1.9B while Walmart's is $611B; I guess making luxury goods is a matter of passion and feeling unique.
Interesting really. I think something to take note of when comparing revenue is the type of goods or services offered, one brand might be a luxury good business and the other a necessity good. So luxury brands only need the top 1- 10% of people to buy their good to make the figures you mention whereas, a supermarket services everyone making the difference in revenue a matter of quantity or volume of people by the price ranges.
Content is so much valuable than whatever is found on the platform. Would like to say smthing on the logo, pls re-design it, so that it was aligned with the knowledge you are sharing

LVMH was built to extract the maximum profit today without building the brand. No shock that Dior was making a bag for 57 dollars by people making the bare minimum while charging thousands of dollars for it; that cannot be good in the long run. Hermes is about building the brand and not trying to take every penny, leaving people want more.
I'm wonder to know that a luxury like you said should be unique and not follow anyone then someone who really like it and seems them as qualify as the brand will pay for it. basically the most important part is unique, is it?
Hello, I get the concept of luxury brands. They are one house, one name. what about brands like Harry Rosen. they too provide luxury products but they offer so many. Can you define their way of maketing?
In this case, Harry Rose is a luxury e-commerce. So it’s actually not a luxury brand. They have their own editorials for various brands. Also they will sometimes have some limited edition with brands. If you are curious about their marketing, you can watch the “digital merchandising” episode :)

To keep a constant cash inflow a lot of luxury brands create diffusion brands with lower price points and also do a lot of licensing.
