I would personally rank elite guard S because of one of the death scenes. You’re in a sort of torture chamber with the elite guard and it either breaks or cuts off your legs (can’t remember). You actually get a chance to crawl around at some point and it’s possible to make it to the door. You're "this" close to escaping from this hellhole. You turn the handle and… it's locked. All you feel is hopelessness and despair as the elite guard laughs and bludgeons you to death. It fully incapsulates the dread and despair of the game's atmosphere.
My favorite is the butterfly. His concept is just amazing. The butterfly is a hardworking guy whose effort was denied by his superior for hundreds of years but he keeps trying.

Also 3:22 Personally a thing I really like about the ghouls is, I don't exactly remember where but you can get the back story of each particular zombie and how they actually had a life outside of being a walking corpse, I just find it neat because you don't really ever think of zombie characters in that sort of manner unless its the "central character gets zombified and has to be killed" cliche, but no these are just like... Regular dudes

I feel like the elite guard and the cavewolf-marriage variant deserve more credit. The elite guard iirc has a really cool death scene iirc. I think I've seen it in one of Frapollo's videos where there is this elite guard chasing your crawling body in this room with a door. But the door is actuallly closed so even if you somehow juke the elite guard, your fate is all the same. Just this glimmer of hope that gets mercilessly crushed. Regarding the cave variant guards, I'd personally bump them up to A-tier, just because there is a certain chance for an event where they'll kill all the cave dwellers. It ain't all that much but I really like the freakiness of that event because just a few variant guards genocide the entire village. The ghoul enemies also have this nifty feature where you can talk them into accepting death, which to me is like pretty cool. Not sure if thats enough to let them go to A, but I would argue it makes them better enemies than their skeleton counterpart at least.
Encounters with the hydra and doors are used by players with pinecone pig and regen accessories to safely farm certain items and hp/mind. Hydra easy S tier for sweatlords 😅
Trrotur is also based on Griffith. How he goes from a beautiful respected knight reduced to that state from torture if you actually read up on his lore. The dog is perfect in that it looks like a normal thing in the world but how it's presented and used as well as it's hidden lore makes it a great monster.
I feel like a lot of those were treated unfairly, like completely skipping the dialgue and lowering some of them (spider is easily at least A if you got to understand what he says with talking to insects). Also a lot of pretty normal, not so special encouters are overall too high, like c'mon if you got like 8 S and 20 A but like 4 C, then something is kinda wrong imo
as someone who played the demo first, I have a primal rage against manebas. I would cheat the game for the sole purpose of spamming explosive vials on them (played the rest of the demo and the actual demo legit)
The dog lover in me immediately makes me biased in favor of Moonless. I look at that demonic mangy face full of teeth and I go "Who's a good girl? WHOSA GOOGURL???"

Manebas are F-tier . Screw these guys and their parasitic attacks which double your hunger and perform multiple attacks in a single turn while preventing you from escaping .

If you enter in the abilities menu from the characters, you used "talk" to your party members, if they are a ghoul, they will tell their backstory
I like the spiders, it's nice there's something completely common and normal amidst all the madness.

The gaurds are so much easier than most think. I think other than the Maneba the gaurds were one of the first things I killed.
