- After doing some wheel bearing maintenance on the Scrambler we decided to say to heck with it and take the RC cars out for the afternoon. We went up to one of our local trails and had a fun couple hours of playing with our other toys. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Rorys throttle control is amazing and key.
I am assuming, based on my long-past experience, that he is using a computer radio with a lot of exponential applied to the throttle channel. There was no "crawl speed" when I would enter the forward portion of throttle. I'd say low gears and purpose wound motor are given, and help, but that slow crawl can't be happening without extreme expo, and still be able move out when he wants.
@@hondolane3125 long past are the words. With outrunner motors and/or proper esc that is actually fairly easy.

@@hondolane3125 That slow speed IS happening without any expo on the throttle channel. Based on how quiet his motor is I suspect he may be using a Hobbywing Fusion Pro (motor & ESC combined) which has amazing low speed control.
I cant believe i just watched almost 19 min of RC offroading, And I loved it!

1/10 scale crawlers are one of the coolest and most entertaining hobbies out there, i have several ones and people can't believe how expensive those can get just by doing some upgrades 😅

Have lived the rc life for nearly 50 yrs. Always awesome to see them pop up on non rc videos. Ya never know who loves to run. Crawlers sure have changed since the clodbuster days lol. Tlt axles and all the fun stuff.

RC Rock trucks are for me very relaxing. Its time ,patience, balance and luck.

You guys seem to always be able to find some way to have fun. That's not a bad skill to have in these days. Way to go. Stay safe and healthy. Watching these RC cars reminded me that they looked almost like you were reenacted the 24 hours of Hell and Back in miniature.
Love y'all are into the RC crawlers, I've been at it years; have a whole workbench dedicated to it.
I honestly got into it because I just couldn't get anywhere near having a real shop or real rig.
In case anyone's tired of the Holmes Hobbies outrunner noises from the Jeep, Holmes Hobbies did release an ESC that silences the startup noise.
I personally love that sound, running mine on a SW4 aswell.
Looks like the rocks were damn cold that day, KM3's are cool; but there's lots more traction to be had with the loads of other tire treads out there.

Well, if you’re a kid playing with your rock Crawler , then I’m a 60-year-old kid at heart. Been enjoying my RC rock crawlers for five years and currently building an RC tow truck. Off-road of course. Keep having fun.

8 weeks on my back, feet never to touch the floor. The Titanium hip fixed persistent back problems. The motorcycle was fixed, and now I don't have more than two beers in a session. Saving from aged pension for 10th scale RC crawler.

I'll bet they are a bit pricey, but I think I might actually afford to be able to do some rock crawling with one of these.
You can get into a halfway decent one for around $300.
The Vanquish Rory has is about $500.
But like anything else, you can dump endless money into upgrading them.
I’ve got a couple that I’m sure I’m into over a grand.

I have seen Rory wearing the "Amain" hobby's hat & seen some rc truck's in shop during videos. I to do the rc hobby,crawling,bashing,bouncing & love the hobby as well as 4x4ing full size. I got into crawlers about 8 years ago. We don’t have that great of terrain around here but we have a group that I go out with every Sunday. Really enjoy the hobby.
Been seeing the hints that you’re also an rc enthusiast quite a while now, awesome to see what you got in action!
I really believe that 'playing with these toys" actually is a good learning tool for the real thing and if they roll over it is a lot cheaper and no one gets hurt. It is also a good way to unwind with a bunch of mates.

That looks like fun!. If the tires are foam filled try messing with the foam to make the tire squat more like 8 - 10 PSI on a full sized rig

A good friend of mine who actually got me into 4x4 bought one of these little RC crawlers and I thought it was so dumb at first. Then after work I went to his house and must've spent 3 hours and 10 beers just zipping it around his yard 😂😂 Those things are so dang fun
