- Super loud and exciting Drive & Sound with the all-new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish powered by a massive 6.0 V12 with 573 hp and 620 Nm of torque. A few weeks ago I had the awsome opportunity to drive this very exclusive top of the range Aston Martin. Although the same V12 finds its way in other Aston Martin Models, specifically this Vanquish exhaust system produces a sound from another world. Once you press the "S" button the car is put into sport mode and opens the exhaust valves. What follows is as loud as a Ferrari V12 and soo unique that you can recognize it from far away. This really is a proper super car that causes turning heads and questions of interested people everywhere. To me, Astons are the kind of cars for someone to go to a very expensive restaurant, or to drive from a luxurious hotel. Aston Martins are stylish, sexy and beautiful, not just a show-off car like Ferrari and Lambo

It really is absolutely gorgeous, but what amazes me about aston martin is that their cars never look outdated after they've been updated, which is rare in today's market. For example, an audi from 2004 looks really shit and boring compared to a modern one, whereas I love this vanquish, but I still equally love the original vanquish, the last dbs, the db7 and the db9, they all still look perfect

I thought the old bentley continental looked a little ugly, I don't really know why, but the subtle differences made on the new V8 model make it what I believe to be one of the most elegant cars on the road today, and I still don't really know why. The facelifted Continental is one of very few cars today that I can't divert my eyes from when I see one, and again I don't know why. I love it.
Dude, a 2009 Audi R8 V10 looks more DATED than this Aston Martin Vanquish. I'd take an Audi R8 V10 (especially a V10 Plus) over an Aston anyday.

Hermann Göring you never heard them in person to say that... at iddle none of those you mentioned does not even come close of what an aston sound like,, accelerating, maybe the AMG, but definitely not the M and much less a S Line which doesn´t even is the RS line from audi...

To me it is fast enough. This would be the perfect vehicle for me especially if I am in a situation where id have to pull away from torrential situations on the highway. Too many laws in place to even try going 100 plus these days. :(

Zunächst erstmal danke für das tolle Video! Als ich selbst Gelegenheit hatte dieses Auto zu testen war ich so davon fasziniert das ich es vergas Videos davon zu machen. Auch wenn das Auto eine B&O Anlage für ca. 15000€ besitzt habe ich sie eigentlich nicht benützt. Der Motorsound der sich durch die Klappensteuerung ab 3000rpm entfaltet ist einfach abgöttisch gut!!! So war bei mir die S Taste eigentlich immer an und ich habe keinen Tunnel oder Unterführung ausgelassen um mal den Kickdown zu testen :D Besonders in München gibt es ja genügend davon allerdings vorsicht den die S Taste ist im Straßenverkehr nicht zulässig ;) So kanns passieren das man mal eben schnell von der Polizei angehalten wird aufgrund der hohen Lautstärke. Das Auto ist vom aussehen und vom klang definitiv äußerst auffällig. Ich konnte damals kaum iwo stehen ohne das mich Leute auf dieses Auto angesprochen haben. Sollte sich mir diese Gelegenheit wieder mal bieten würde ich sie aufjedenfall sofort wieder ergreifen. Denn dieses Auto vereint Stiel, Power und Understatement und ist eben ein echtes 007 Car. Vg

A manual is perfect for a car like the Vantage, but in a GT car like the Vanquish, a smooth automatic or automated manual is perfect. I don't want row my own gears in a big, soft cruiser like this, I think it would ruin the experience and purpose of the Vanquish.

I would love to get a review of the 2006-2007 Aston Martin Vanquish S !
Only 1086 units ever built from 2005 to 2007.
The last handmade Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell factory.
Newport Pagnell opened in 1958 to build the DB4 and closed on 19th July 2007 when the last Vanquish S was built.
One of the most iconic Aston ever, very rare.
It was the fastest series production Aston until the V12 Vantage S.
Its top speed was measured at 322.8 km/h (more than 200 MPH) (GPS speed).
Only 2578 Vanquish ever made, 1086 of them were Vanquish S
The most beautiful Aston V12 sound... much more impressive than the new 2013 "Vanquish" which is simply an evolution of the DB9 since 2004 (same VH base), while the Vanquish was a complete new model when it was first launched in 2001.
Better to review a 2006 model to get the new dashboard with big navigation screen.

Automann-TV There is only one for sale in Germany, at Aston Martin dealer in München. The car belonged to goal-keeper Oliver Kahn (written on the sill plates), it is for sale at 130 000 €. Maybe you could contact them, it would be a great advert / help for selling their car ! :)

Oh wow, that really is a rare car. I have been in contact with several dealerships (even luxury cars and super car dealerships) and they are more an more open to provide cars for promotion purposes. Unfortunately my time is very limited and I can't take all of those interesting opportunities. But I'll keep that in mind. Grüße aus Kaiserslautern!
Automann-TV It would be such a great thing if you could review this particular ex-Oliver Kahn Vanquish S (the color is Meteorite Grey). You really need to get a 2006 model, because when the Vanquish S was launched in september 2004, it still had the old dashboard of the Vanquish (2001-2004).

extreme slow gearbox aston is actually over 10 years behind the technological opportuities, no wonder that they cooperate with Mercedes AMG... Mercedes becomes 5% of the rights and help them. +Hans Klostermann Der AMG GTS ist klar das bessere Auto, aber an den Flair des Vanquish kommt er nicht ran. Ungeachtet des Preise würde ich den Vanquish nehmen, noch bessere Optik und vom Fahren her sehr exklusiv, wenn auch nicht so perfekt wie der AMG GT.

This is one of my favorite Aston Martin cars.
I don't understand why this isn't a replacement for the DB9, but then again, I didn't understand why the Virage wasn't a replacement for the DB9 back in 2010. This should be a replacement, not a new flagship, as it does everything the DB9 does in exactly the same way but is only 2 years out of date as opposed to 4.

Fantastic video and a great watch, however, the driving style of the driver is very frustrating, change up then immediately down again, up, down etc etc. just let the engine rev or hold in gear for the next corner!

Very well said. Aston & exotic cars speak to that sublime thing in our hearts. It is not all about speed & millisecond transmission shifting. But your the second person to compare the GT500 to an Aston. They couldn't be farther apart than the countries that designed them.

Transmission seems very laggy and slow. Slips from gear to gear like slushbox automatic. No crisp snick feel and sound.
But how can it be, that the car is so slow with that amount of power ? It can't be so heavy…

Considering the power this Vanquish is really slow.
But then this is a car where you appreciate more other things besides its dynamics like the look, the noise, the presence...mainly things you can hardly put a price tag on.
No a Ford Fiesta is slow. You don't know what your talking about.
Driver is vastly inferior to Car and Driver and Road & Track drivers who get much better times.

The problem with the Vanquish is that James Bond drives the DBS! So why in the hell would you buy a Vanquish? The only reason most men buy an Aston is to feel like there James Bond!

Ist es grundsätzlich schwerer einen solchen Sportwagen zu fahren als z.B. einen "normalen" Wagen (z.B. einen Golf)?
Naja, die meisten Supersportwagen oder auch schon "günstigere" Sportwagen fahren sich im Alltag oft nicht so einfach und spielerisch wie ein Golf. Sie haben Ihre Ecken und Kanten (von den Herstellern auch teilweise so gewollt) und das merkt man halt schon. Beim Aston Martin (hatte Vanquish, V12 Vantage und DB9) ist die Rundumsicht und das Einsteigen erstmal ok, aber beim rangieren merkt man halt, dass die Getriebe nicht ganz so harmonisch abgestimmt sind, das stört auf Dauer. Auch beim Gallardo braucht man seine Eingewöhnungszeit, durch die sehr niedrige Sitzposition und das ruppige Getriebe....aber mit ein paar Tagen Gewöhnung geht auch das ganz gut:) Die Porsche sind traditionell die alltagstauglichsten und am einfachsten zu fahren, dadurch aber manchmal auch etwas kühler und weniger emotional.

Muhammad Najmi sound wise you cant compare a V8 to an V12. The Aston V12's are the only V12 engines i like. the zondas sound like trash for example. and soundwise nothing beats an old Muscle Car. Aston Martin and Vipers are no Muscle btw they are Sportscars.
