@ firstly yes you are right that Albania is a secular country like all other majority Muslim European countries (Kosovo🇦🇱, Bosnia and Turkey). Like all of these other countries in Albania, the people are secular in practice and tend to drink alcohol but not eat pork usually- mainly due to communism. Also even the Muslims of Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Turkey would be offended if called an Islamic country as it doesn’t align with the values of our lifestyle and how we live our lives today in Albania. Also we live in peace with other religions in Albania and Kosovo as we are the most religiously tolerant country in the world. In Albania we have Sunni Muslims, Bektashi Muslims, Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants and Atheists and we all live in peace. Secondly, as much as I hate to say Albania is poor bro and that’s a fact- that’s why so many Albanians are constantly leaving the country because there is no work and no money (people don’t earn enough). Women in Albania are free to wear hijab or not in Albania as it’s a secular country like all European countries- European Muslims don’t marry their cousins. We have a lot of Ottoman influence on our culture as all of the Balkans do. Also bro some places in Albania in the villages and mountains don’t have electricity all the time 😂.
The only people would tell you not to go to Albania are Serbs and Greeks. They still live in the 19th century. In Albania all religions are respected equally, no single state religion.

@SofieDhimertika First - because people were busy working for thier daily living... no time for religion - secondly - former regime forbade religion, people ended up in prison for praying - Albanian Muslims just like their Catholic and Orthodox brothers have the same culture and DNA, so not much divide within Albania. The religious division comes from outsiders, as foreigners, whether westeners (Christian) or Easteners (Muslims) cannot understand how people can tolerate one another and live in religious harmony, especially when considering Albanians who would k!ll one-another for a word of mouth.

I understand religion is important to you. But us Albanians think of religion as something private to be respected whatever it is. You will find that few people actually are practicing, either in Islam or christianity in Albania. Our faith is more spiritual.
@User12345fan LOL, our faith is more "not faith"... Ottoman rule, then communist rule... everything was forced upon Albanians, religion, borders, alliances, etc. Foreigners cannot understand the tolerance of one religion to the other in Albania; a mosque and a church stand side by side; and sometimes it is Muslims being bothered by the mullah call while the semi-communist (not so) Muslim Albanian is sipping Raki with his Christian neighbor. My American neighbors do not believe that white Albanians are Muslims. They asked another neigbhbor when they did not see Christmas lights if they were Jewish... the "Tirons" answered no, he said they are Muslims... but you drink alcohol and eat pork chops... yeah, what's wrong with that? I don't know what were you expecting. Albania is a balkan country. We are not Saudi level muslims. Most of us are Bektashi. Yes, we drink raki and eat pork, we love our christian fellow citizens and also marry them and live in harmony.
Bro like around 10% of the Muslims in Albania are Bektashi Muslim. Also the reason most people don’t practice much is because of communism and yes we have always lived in peace with Christians like in Kosovo but it’s a shame they can’t do that in Bosnia.

06:43 they are not scammers. The yellow taxis charge more, around 20-25 EUR and the app taxis like Blue, Lux or Speed charge about half the price. It is standard

The reason Albania doesn't looks like A muslim country is because it isn't it is 90% irreligious. Last census the number of people who identified as Muslim went from 56% in 2011 to 45% in 2023. Even at it's peak Albania was just 67% Muslim so I'm confused where you got that 80% number from?
No bro you are wrong. In 2011 it was 59% Muslim and according to the last census it dropped to 51%. In its peak it was 76% and also he got 80% from the pew research centre data.
@ Bektashis aren’t Muslim. The Sunni percentage fell from 56.7% to 45.7% in just a decade. Also Albania at its Muslim peak was 67% Muslim including the Bektashi. As for the Pew data well it is nonsensical to take it over the nationwide state conducted data
@ Bektashis and the Albanian census would say different my friend. On the Albanian census they are listed as ‘Mysliman Bektashi’ (Bektashi Muslim) so they are Muslims and all of those people replied and identified as Muslim in the census. Bektashism is a Sufi sect of Islam originating from Sunni Islam and google also clearly tells you this. They are like every other Sufi sect so my question to you is what makes them not Muslim according to you if they say they are Muslim and are internationally recognised as Muslim?
@ if you would like to learn more about Bektashis then read this but please do research before speaking without knowledge on a situation. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bektashism
@ Bektashis believe in Allah, all of the Prophets and that Muhammad is the final Prophet, the Qur’an, Hadiths and Sunnah, they also have respect for the companions and family of the Prophet including Abu Bakr and Aisha. The doctrine for Bektashis is that you need to be Muslim to be a Bektashi so you can’t be Bektashi without being Muslim 😂.

@flo2677 ok but I was referring to the Albanian reality, in Albania at most only those who are religious say it. But not Albanians in general dear, because we have a strong secular culture, I am Albanian. And if you are Albanian speak Albanian if possible with me. (there would be no Albania if we had identified with religion! We have 4 historical religions not one!)
Mate, those Ryan Air flights between Albania and UK was a deal done by Prime Minister of Albania and boss of Ryan Air cause apparently the Albanian were constantly discriminated on TV shows in UK , like Albanian invasion by boats 😂and all of these tv shows used pic of people from Africa and Asia to sell it as Albanian to UK people, so it was a forced move from our prime minister with boss of Ryan Air so Uk people can fly directly to Albania and they can see the truth by themselves, cheers mate
06:43 they are not scammers. The yellow taxis charge more, around 20-25 EUR and the app taxis like Blue, Lux or Speed charge about half the price. It is standard
A 14 year old boy named "Martin" got in a fight with another dude also 14, and he kniffed him. The hand prints you saw, were a tribute to him and the letters said: "Martin, we won't forget you" I think their classmattes wrote it.

Masha allah bro, I hope you one day going to visit Indonesia too bro because biggest muslim country in the world . Ameen Ya Allah

I like your vibe, you seem like a genuinely good person.
Good on you for travelling to Shqiperia ( Albania )
I understand your viewpoint and i understand.
However just keep in mind Albanians are in general more ‘Albanian’ than religious… i understand there are exceptions to this.
We see ourselves as Albanians first and that is why we have such a harmony amongst our 3 main faiths.
So when you use Arabic greetings or phrases, you may not receive the same back.
Safe travels in all your journeys.
I recently went to Turkey to buy an empreinte multi pochette. They showed me a pack of kislux and it looked exactly like this. The texture was no different, the color and appearance was the same, I think I will enjoy buying here in the future.
The red hands that he saw on the building are made by some people because there was killed a 14 year old boy by another boy on his age just for stareing at each other

Albania is a religiously tolerant country my friend. Stop painting us a bad picture. When Albania first gained independence, Europe and the West wanted Catholic Albanians to start a revolt against Muslim Albanians with a revolt funded by them in order to be accepted into Europe as they don’t accept majority Muslim countries to be European. Gjerg Fishta the famous Catholic Albanian priest and poet said we will melt our crosses to make bullets to defend our Muslim Albanian brothers. You need to accept we have never been accepted into Europe and as we are a majority Muslim country we will never be accepted into Europe but we don’t need to be as Europe and the West betrayed us and gave our lands to our enemies.
