The way he sings "i never thought I'd need so many people" just brings tears to my eyes. How poignant and brave an admission in the context of the song.

Pity you have to use Lyrics versions to get the genuine original sound on Vinyl, and current corporate outlets are deliberately underming all the great engineers musintions and rpainters, tate gallery even hiding Constable's Flatford Mill, because it proves the great storm about 20 years before it was painted, and they blame Global Warming on life giving Carbon Dioxide, which increases plant growth, and yet they call themselves Greens ?

Unfortunately I accidentally heard Bowie’s song only after he passed away. I remember that day, it was a very agressive/full of metropolitan rush traffic in the morning, I was stuck in a jam and was already late and got more and more angry. Then suddenly the song came on radio and I got more and more calm, the traffic wasn’t matter anymore and then I realised that I have to remember the words in order to google the name of the author. And when I googled “didn’t know what time it was when” I found the whole new universe to myself-Bowie universe. And then I listened to all Bowie’s songs and I even remember myself crying to “is there life on Mars” because to me that song sounded like mourning to Bowie

    • @johnbrooks9523
      @johnbrooks9523 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Bowie knew of plans to depopulate. He was involved with the planners but not involved in carrying out those plans.
Five Years was a warning. Bowie knew his audience loved him. He certainly didn't mean us any harm.
He knew we faced a dangerous future & this song was his attempt at warning us.
The girl drinking the milkshake didn't know she WAS in this song.
This song describes the loss of humanity.
She is only a memory in this song.
She is already gone just like so many others during the last 4 years.
Bowie tried to give us a headstart. It turns out that headstart extended to 52 years.

My Grandad - one of my role models just for him being true to himself even in his zany antics - died 5 years ago today, and I would say it's been the one of the most significant moments in my life that I can't surpass no matter what. I've published poetry and dedicated it to him, played songs and sang them for him, I've even sat and replayed the highlights of our short 21 years together I could recall, and yet no matter what I do - no matter how many poems I write about him - it never changes how much it hurts to not have him here, to not visit him at his house. I would have wanted him to see me where I am now - a 2 time (soon to be 3 time) university graduate, published, independent teacher, helping others because all we have is each other. I hope I make him as proud as he made me to have him as my Grandad.
RIP Jimmy, the *real* Irish Rebel. (He would have loved the fact he shared the same name as the Irish Rebel).

In the last few years when people figure it out there will be peace because there will be nothing to fight about anymore.
There will also be a massive downturn in violence due to people wanting to focus on making the most of their last days.
At the end, the world will be so beautiful that it will almost be worth it.
I've already done my crying over it, I'm done mourning for the world.

Yes. Not only a monolithic work of art but an accurate prediction.
Bowie was invited into "the club". This was, is his interpretation of their intentions.
He had the means to survive cancer. He chose otherwise. Why did he make that choice?
