Worrell was a beast on the keys...and Bootsy was a beast on the bass! Been lovin me some Bootsy since the 70's...🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩
Bernie was a very humble dude! Got to sit down and pick his brain for a couple hours while he was touring with his own group. His wife was his manager, and he told stories, and I was in awe of sitting next to this brilliant man. Always and forever a fan, #R.I.H.Bernie!
I saw Bernie Worrell play live several times with Bootsy and Parliament. Most shows he would do a keyboard solo. They were always different. He was very innovative. RIP Bernie.
P funkadelic is shirtless sweaty guitar strap toting diaper wearing extraterrestrial brothers from outta space landing on earth by the way of the mothership connection to bring you the FUNK . P.funk , Funkadelic the bomb raw and uncut on the one.
Awesome performance.. Legendary artistry.. R.i.p. 🎹 Bernie Worrell 🎹 the stage couldn't contain the energy and confidence in one room.. That's what a stage show looks like!
I bought the Chronic album when I was 14 and im 32 now and we've arrived here finally. So grateful for time and the ability to move forward. So glad to be a part of this!🥳
This is a cold piece! NObody rocked "Slop" the way Eddie Hazel did, but bruh was excellent filler. And Bootsy kept the rhythm sect on lock, loved the merge from Swing Down to Slop. Keep it on the ONE.
That’s Garry Shider on Cosmic Slop. Eddie Hazel was out of the band at that point. He came back for the next Funkadelic album, which was Standing In the Verge of Getting It On, but went to jail soon after that and Michael Hampton replaces him. Garry Shider came in after Eddie left and really stepped up on Cosmic Slop
After growing up in the funk era of the 70s and 80s its so unfortunate that I never realized how much talent our black musicians possessd with a art culture and style so unique and good it can never be duplicated or mastered again except the mothership return swing down and we ride again .FACTS ❤
Mainstream music since the 2010s have been really wack. No sonic diversity, just the same generic sounds and genres but even more watered-down. At least the 2000s still had variety.
LiL Mike Hampton, ripping it up on the guitar, GREAT, GREAT,GREAT,GREAT,GREAT, FLAVOR. Bernie, Bootsy, wow, (RIP Bernie the world best ever keyboard, synthesizer player)
That's not Mike Hampton on guitar doing the solo. It's Dee Dee 'Dirty Muggs' James. He was with two bands in the 80s : Da Krash & later Kool Skool... And the rhythm guitar player is Flip Cornett
Dammn... Never saw them playing live and each time I heard one of their show on the radio I've been blown by how high they take their joints on stage. This is something out of this world, really. Now Bernie Worell passed a few years ago and I realise that as a music lover, not having been able to see these dudes at one of their show, I have probably mess the greatest part of live modern music.
I have many musical regrets too, but missing these guys is not one of them. Saw them at Soldier Field Chicago, 1978. There was over 70,000 people -- Bootsty didn't make it, but it was still an amazing show.
D.C. showed up & showed out when Boosty & Parliment Funkeadelic performed! Washington, D.C., turnt up all thru the 70s, 80s & 90s! We torn the roof off the Capital Center. If you heard any noise it's was just D.C. partying with the boys! The shows at the Captial Center were festival style and we danced all night in front of the stage when the MotherShip landed. My ears rang for days. Bootsy & Parliament Funkeadelic swang down on D.C. and we rode the mutha______ until the wheels fell off the Mothership! GREAT MEMORIES! Fondly, Dana Dane from Petworth, Washington, D.C.
I was praying that someone would have revived the mothership and landed it while Bernie n Gary were still in good health. Say like early 2000's. It would have been epic! Hell I'm hoping it still comes by and let me ride to a better place. And that my friends is on the REAL.
Bootsy and Dee James really threw down on this song!!! Oooooo Weeee!!!!! I ca listen to this over and over again!!!!! Great jobs guys!!!! Job well done!!!!!
Flip Cornett was the rythm guitar player (on the right side of the stage) the solo guitar player is Dee Dee "Dirty Muggs" James and he was formerly in a band called Da Kraash (prod by Jesse Johnson of The Time) and later in Kool Skool another band produced by Jesse Johnson.

A lot of people think Parliament Funkadelic was just a bunch of half-assed fluff musicians, these guys were classically trained...The Best of the Best
How do you know that? Just curious.
