@@Zero_Shift In the early days of MTG, before it was easy to find out what cards were released, somebody started a rumor there was a super-powerful rare card called Throat Wolf. It never actually existed, but it was a minor legend on Usenet back then, and has been jokingly referenced a couple times since.

The tutorial music gets grating very fast. But the game has good music aside from that. Which is good, because no one is going to replay the tutorial

Aside from the maddening effect having a song blared at you unendingly---with little breaks every few hours, to remind you of how good it is to not have that happening---it's also used as a sleep deprivation tactic, since....well, you're having a song blared at you unendingly. Sounds comical, will absolutely destroy you.

If it's an hour or more I sleep to it. It's not a disrespect thing in fact waking up randomly at 3 am to another video halfway delirious is one of my favorite hobbies. Ratshaker was a 3 am trip for me.

I woke up to this video yesterday and just checked it out and heard the intro . Yeah Vinny you were right.
I opened the video to use it to sleep, and immediately he said it lol
I genuinely thought the game was called Dice Manager until he read the title and suddenly my expectations of this game being about a dice throwing businessman vanished.
Dev you can't release this. It's gonna be Vinny's Slay the Spire addiction all over again.
Magic, Yugioh, and Pokemon TCG mechanics are interwoven with number manipulation that will make a Final Fantasy Tactics Mathematician blush in this game. Finally won a run. Thanks Vin for showing me this game exists.

Game looks fun and the dice mechanic seems to add a lot of personal decision making to it, my only problem with the game is the music, maybe the full game will be different, I hope.

I played the game myself a bit and there isn't that much music variety in the full game, but the music does get better. There's only area and boss themes, but the area themes get extra instruments during combat which is nice. Sadly no event or shop themes.

@@Plo1154 You're right, there is a shop theme I just didn't notice it / remember it because all the themes are so chill, but it's indeed there.
The music sounds like something you would here on the Wii disk menu screen before you press start on a game.

@@foreng3095yeah issue is, the game requires a bit too much focus, and NL doesn't really play games that require him to focus so that he can banter since they are meant to be more of a background thing now. He at least aknowledges the appeal, but yeah

Vinny, I can help you with understanding what different sized dies do. It's very complicated, but I've spent years playing only DnD and I've found a way to simplify it and so here you go: A 20-sided die is a dice that has... get this, 20 sides.
Seriously though, when it is "checking" if a status passes or fails, it seems to be using a D20 (I don't know if it's all the time, but that doesn't matter for the explanation).
when the game rolls the D20, you'll get a random number from 1 to 20, right? That is how dice work. Imagine if you have 7 poison on you. if you roll 7 or less, then you get poisoned. If you roll an 8 or higher, then you avoid it. So if the enemy has 20 or more butter hands, then it's impossible for them to evade, because you know, a 20-sided die can't go above 20. good statuses, like evasion, are inverted of course. That's really it. If anyone says this is still too complicated, then you probably don't even know what a die is.

Every time I see a roguelite deckbuilding game where the map screen is a 1:1 recreation of Inscryption/Slay The Spire, my eyes immediately roll back into my sockets.
Its like a cognitohazard.
(the game's really good though! The way it uses the dice mechanic to enable total bullshit reminds me of Balatro!)
It's similar, but saying 1:1 isn't really right. But sure, if a game isn't 100% unique in every aspect, it also gives me a brain aneurysm. Not unhinged at all
@@lethauntic Just saying that Deckbuilding Roguelites with Slay The Spire map are incredibly common. It seems to be a genre where creativity has stagnated and the only unique ones deviate from cards to another game, like peggle, claw machine, Resident Evil 4 case system, casino games, etc.
I mean the sots isn't that unique by any means.
This game's overworld is also pretty different, different enough at least. You can walk in any direction and there's a countdown.
