Hi friends!! I hope you enjoy this video (and the new camera)! We are stepping our game up! What are you most interested in learning about or studying btw? Leave in the comments! 💓
Soft skills are usually some none technical people’s excuse to stay relevant in tech companies, oh… I can be a scrum master, a manager that managing people whose work I have totally no clue about, or at least I can be a cheer leader. That’s typically what those bragging about soft skills are really about. BTW: the new camera looks nice, you may want to try the anamorphic lens to make it more cinematic
Add to the fact the for soft skills, it has an inverse relationship on one's abilities to learn technical skills. Computers and related technologies are so complex and deep [metaphorically like a Shoggoth] to learn that attempting to do so will like shoot one's abilities to have decent soft skills. Basically you have 2 choices: 1) Have good soft skills, 2) Have good technical skills (computer-based). Employers asking for great soft skills along with specific I.T, programming, or engineering skillset for EVERY specific company is asking for unicorns and hoping that the unicorns will also accept the poor compensation they usually offer in this day and age.
My apologies, this got infinitely more long-winded than I anticipated, but there is a short TLDR at the end if you don’t feel like reading it all. :) The solution you're pointing towards involves finding professionals who not only have a robust technical understanding but also excel in communication, seamlessly bridging the gap between the tech team and business leadership. These individuals essentially act as vital connectors within an organization, equipped with both technical savvy and exceptional interpersonal skills. Such dual expertise is indeed rare and highly valuable. It represents a blend of deep technical knowledge and refined soft skills, typically developed over years of dedicated effort and self-growth. The individuals who achieve this are incredibly valuable, as they can navigate complex technical challenges while ensuring alignment with business goals. **If you you spot one, as a hiring manager, talk to your team and convince them to double whatever the offer for the position is because they will carry your company to incredible new highs and there WILL be people that can and will be able to pay them more than you. - Hopefully they prefer being in a smaller company where their influence makes a difference (As even they can get lost in the massive, cumbersome ships that are big tech companies - which can be Incredibly unsatisfying for many people of this skill-level.) On the other hand, not everyone in such roles may meet these high standards. That said, the Primary role of this position is acting as that “bridge”. - Since there are so few of those beautiful creatures, we might have to settle for less. - So we go into the “character creation mode” If you're tasked with creating such a character, but face limitations on the 'skill points' your allocation strategy would likely prioritize soft skills heavily, ensuring robust interpersonal and leadership capabilities. Meanwhile, sufficient points should be invested in both the technical and business acumen categories to maintain a sound understanding of each. This balanced approach will likely make these individual less adept at both the Technical roles and the Business Leadership roles, enables individuals to effectively bridge gaps, making them not quite unicorns but still competent and valuable connectors within their organizations. - unfortunately, finding great fits in these roles isn’t always easy, but that’s an HR issue that I could go on about for WAY too long.) TLRD: These people, if you find the right people, even if they aren’t that “Unicorn” can be incredibly valuable and I promise if you have a good one on your team, you would be a happy camper. They’re essentially the “Support player” that can subtly carry the team through effective communication, while simultaneously, subtly stroking the ego of both sides. - There is also a snippet in the middle where I essentially blow my load over true Unicorns 😅
@@LoneWolf5960I think it’s just an HR issue. If you think the person in the management role over tech jobs doesn’t know what they’re doing, you can essentially eliminate 97% of their knowledge and now you have the HR/Hiring manager deciding who you’re brining into your team. I think traditional HR/Hiring departments are completely fucking trash and need a full rework.
As a matter of fact, a lot of if not most of those people having solid technical skills meanwhile possess great soft skills, they are just not fond of making postures without real substance. Go watch Lex Fridman’s interviews to the principals of top tech companies, you will find they are not only the champions of technology, they are also great sales man and absolute master in communications. Have they ever bragging about their soft skills?
Thank you for the new vid, Tiff 👍 and congrats on the new camera 🌺 Also, the educational links you provided in the description box (covered in the video), are a big help 🏅
Yes absolutely made it to the end, so much to learn that we can't miss a beat Thank You Tiff for Sharing... The part in Tech i would like to get in on would be something in Cyber Security where i'll need some Tech knowledge but really clueless where to start.
Thanks for the excellent compilation. I watched the entire video until the end. It arrived just when I needed it. The camera is great, I can see every detail of your eyelashes, lol.
I am confused with all the information online. I understood that ux for instance isn't favorable now to study, also swe are complaining that is hard to get a job now, so is it really in demand/will it be? I am trying to figure out my career change path.😢😢
That is great to hear!! Start with the fundamentals. Honestly you can learn them at the same time if you take a course going through the fundamentals first!! Super indemand. Create a schedule for studying and stick to it is the most important thing
Question these are technology skills and not IT skills since these skills have more to do with its applications and developments in the tech industry whereas IT is more of managing skills and modifying a technology so it would run smoothly? Just to clarify
Hi, videos are great, I’m trying teach myself data analytics whilst working by full time. Do you have any book recommendations for learning data analytics, SQL, PYTHON etc. starting from scratch here, but trying to upskill knowing my current role will come to an end in about a years time.
Great informational content and reassuring but quite unsettling for those who will have to catch up QUICKLY with AI to stay relevant in the workplace, on the long term. Will that work for all or only for a few...🙄
What about Low code platforms, that have a huge demand atm. What's your thoughts on this? Like OutSystems, Microsoft Dynamics 365, etc... Maybe we could get a video about it? :)
I want to become a Generative AI Developer, so, can you help me out suggesting the best courses to learn it and make projects out of it. Please consider my request.
