Love the intuitive approach you take. I use deck for study/daily draw for myself and intuitive approach for reading for others. Thank you sharing your insights in such an open way. I enjoy being subscribed to such a lovely channel.
I totally agree that forcing yourself to work with a specific deck when you are not feeling it can be very frustrating. I try to rotate the decks in my collection, so I kind of have an idea of what I would like to use every month but in the end I'll go with what I really feel like working with :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas!
Perfect! Listening to our intuition may be the best way of really connecting to a reading even before we begin. Lately, images from the Indigo Alchemist tarot have been coming up for me -- not only for readings, but in relation to events, things people say, things I see happening. I'm enjoying the interaction I'm having with this deck a lot :)
Thank you for obliging my video request, Katey! I really enjoyed this 💖While I choose decks to work with every month, you now have me curious about trying my hand at selecting decks in a more flexible and free-flowing manner 🤔I'm also moving away from RWS clones and am searching for decks that offer something more distinctive or a different take on some of the cards. Thanks again and much love 🌹
Peekaboorose I mean, if your current system is working for you then that great! It is fun to experiment with different approaches from time to time too though, isn’t it? Thanks for your question! It was a fun one 😊
Interesting. I've gone back and forth between doing a 'deck for this month' and then not... then missing the focus... now settled on 'deck for the month's morning daily-ish draws' but not necessarily for everything. I'm similarly rules-averse, & also find certain decks call me at certain seasons. I'm trying to get better at listening to which deck is 'calling me' as opposed to thinking out 'which deck *should* I use for this' (then scrutinizing myself for it) -- I recently shifted from storing my decks out of sight (in a trunk) to in sight (on a shelf) and this has really led me to mix up which deck(s) I'm using more frequently & to choose more intuitively / less deliberately. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
Whenever I get a new deck, I interview it to determine how it wants to help me, and how I can respect the deck. So generally each deck is helping me in a particular part of my life. Often when I buy a deck I know what kind of effect it will have on me, or how it will help me.
Are you doing readings ? Have you thought about making an e-book for your favorite spread for mental health ? Self care spreads and favorite decks when needing self care? You are a wealth of knowledge ! Thank you pretty girl !
When I choose a system/deck to read with its kind of not conscious, when the question or clients name is in my mind a system/deck seems to step forward for me to read with, unless the client chooses something in particular, this includes me for my own personal readings. I can never choose just one deck, its impossible for me. Mine are all on a shelf with their little individual voices, and bright boxes that I choose for them at the local Red Dot store!
Hi Katey, We did pull a card and did a reading for you later in yesterday's live. It will be available asap, after some editing, and the time stamps will be available for you temporarily in the description box. Settling down now to watch your new one. Muahs!
Love this. I'm the same way, I just use whatever deck calls to me at the moment, whichever one I feel like looking at. The only exception is if I know the person I'm reading for likes a particular thing, I'll use a deck that is focused on that. For instance, for a friend who loves cats, I'll use the Baroque Bohemian Cats deck, that sort of thing. I don't do the "monthly" deck either, never heard of that until recently.
Hello Katey! I am new to your channel and I am enjoying your reviews of oracle and tarot cards. Thank you so much for the amount of energy and expertise you expend in creating them
There really is something powerful about learning to hear/listen to/follow your intuition more. Thank you for that reminder. On a related note? I'm relatively new to tarot, & I want to thank you for your thoughtful video on the deck interview. I'm struggling a bit with how to read/interpret the answers -- Empress in the limitations position? Gah! -- & was wondering if you might do a video that unpacks the reading part a bit more, with more guidance for those of us who aren't as practiced or skilled yet? Thanks for considering!
I’ve done a couple of videos about reading intuitively and whatnot, but if you’re looking for more content about actually learning the cards, you can’t go past Kelly-Ann Maddox’s Trainee Tarot video series :)
This was really interesting. At the moment I am using a deck a month as a way to use every deck in my collection at least once, but you have given me some food for thought about the benefits of being more free in how I work.
I was deep within the vortex of the #shoutouts VR and I think one of the TH-camrs mentioned you, maybe Peekaboorose. Your videos always show up on my feed and I always loved your videos. I finally subscribed to your channel! I love this community, I just started my channel about 1 month ago and I'm learning so much! Thank you! xoxo.
Thank you so much for sharing how you handle what decks you choose. Your videos are all ways a joy to watch. Your openest and honesty makes me feel as though I am not alone. I am in a bit of a pickle in the sense that I would love to learn tarot and I have several different tarot decks to choose one in witch to learn tarot but I struggle to decide one deck to stick to and learn the language of the cards. May you have any input or suggestions? It's not that I don't enjoy looking at the decks I have. I feel as though I am not dancing well with certain cards that I don't agree with how they are being interpreted. Blessings 🙏🤗
I'm not really sure how to answer your question beyond what I've already said in this video. I have done other videos on deck recommendations for beginners, too. I personally preferred learning with the classic Rider Waite Smith deck, but ultimately you just have to do what works for you and give yourself permission to use your own intuition in finding spin on the meanings that make sense to you. Have fun!
What would you suggest to a beginner that only has one deck? For example: I have the Universal Waite deck and I've only been doing this for about a month or so. I'm afraid to venture out because I feel if buy more decks I will loose the purpose of learning the cards and the meanings. But I'm also worried that maybe I'm not able to get those "true readings" since maybe that's not what my deck was meant to do based off of the first interview spread. Of that makes sense, Am I possibly on the right track?
Kayla Hill I think you just have to trust yourself on when I new deck would hinder or help your progress. For me, I found it helpful to stick with the RWS for a few months but used oracle decks for more personal insight so that I could still give myself meaningful readings while I was learning with the RWS.
Thanks Katey, this was really helpful - I also love the way you choose a deck to read - free reign is important for me too, it works so much better as I am growing as a reader.
Thanks for the question, Peekaboorose, and I hope you all enjoy this chat! ☺️💕

Ah yes having the decks in sight can be a great way to getting you reaching for more decks!

Heather Carter it’d be great if there was a magical way to do both at once! Let me know if you figure it out! 😅👍🏻
Katey Flowers 😂 will do

Plz give review of the money and law of attraction deck by abraham Hicks. It's a request
I don’t have that deck to review.
