My tip, if you are good with reading people, get a deck where you can see the people’s facial expressions, it was helping me a lot. Also the more current in time the deck is, the easier the association, otherwise you have to learn from scratch what the symbolism means on a medieval (for example) setting.
My first tarot deck was the original Rider Waite but I was turned off with its muted colors. So I shifted to the Radiant tarot deck and it is now my go-to deck whenever I do readings.
My first deck was Ibis tarot and I chose it because I saw the image of high priestess ("the gates of sanctuary" in Ibis Tarot) and the empress ("Isis Urantia" in Ibis) and I didn't know at the time those images were from a tarot deck but I started to dream with those cards for months before actually finding the deck and acquiring it. But it is very difficult to read it and many meanings are different from what I see in Biddy Tarot. And Rider and Waite was very very ugly for me. So my question is: if you work for a long time to connect with a traditional deck like rider Waite won't this be like a turn off when you finally feel ready to go back to the Ibis, in my example?
The Rider Waite is a great place to start! This is because a lot of new modern Tarot decks, or other Tarot decks that are created, are still inspired by the Rider Waite. But of course it's totally up to you! 💜Team Biddy
Hello! Thanks for your extended video! I have a question. Is it right to gift to a friend their first ever tarot deck or they should buy their first one on their own?
You can do either! You can gift them a deck that you think they will love. Or, they can choose a deck that they truly resonate with (and maybe you can buy it for them?!).

What kind of deck you have? 😊
