Put some blue Loctite thread locker on the screw threads and tighten the screws up nice and tight. The screws won't loosen up unless you intentionally want to remove them.
Tough knife, I have it on my Amazon list. That piece of tough wood is probably a narley piece of Sweetgum. Once cured, it's extremely hard to chop or split manually. Doest burn the best either.
I have loctite. I definitely have to use it.

I am carrying my Winkler belt knife with a Kreald sheath because my Winkler crusher belt knife with rubber handles is dull. That is my favorite knife. Great preview of that knife! That's 2 knives getting the crap beat out of them with no defects! Certainly says something about what Lothar is doing. I'll be leaving Colorado end of October and roaming between the kids Arkansas to S. Carolina. Maybe we'll hook up some day!

Gruggs great to see you back in the ranks of the legion. That Lothar knife is impressive. The wood is either cherrywood or red oak. Both hardwoods. Red Oak is a little harder. A little fact about cherrywood. Cherry wood burns slowly with a good heat output in a fire or wood burning stove and gives off a lovely aroma. The logs need to be well seasoned, although strips of the bark can also be used as natural firelighters for your log burner or fire.

Bet you had to put more weight and balance on one foot as to not hurt and use the hip to much .Its good to see someone that don't have what I call Cream puff hands , you know the type where there is always a hot spot and their hands are torn up in 2 or 3 swings lol .The knife looks great .

I like the knife, but you know as well as I do that knife could break at the two holes when batanning. I do not like the holes in the blade. Usually the holes go in the handle.
There are plenty of other blades out there good sir. But this one took a beating and survived!
Problem with full flat grind in batoning it binds. A sabre flat does not bind. Their harpoon knife with sabre grind is better blade.

I just got mine in today..i got a Ferro rod and this gauge.. I'm sure it's for sharping the blade but not sure how to use could you give any details on it or possibly do a video?
I didn’t get a ferro rod with my Bat nor any sharpening tool. Quite unfortunate for me. I feel kinda robbed….
@@LegionTacticoolCutlery on my case it has a slot for the Ferro rod with Ferro rod..I wish I could attach a pic of this gauge for you but TH-cam says No.. But it's a very thin piece of black metal has a 0-50mm scale at the bottom and a concave serrated end.. Thank you for your very quick reply...
