@@MuShinnen Never. And it's not as if rain was going to get in there while the engine is running. Tractor flaps look like shit, too. Also, who cares if rain gets in there, the way it's setup, it can't damage anything and it's going to get vaporized pretty quickly as soon as the car's turned on.

You could have clocked the exhaust to the easy boring way and made an xpipe. That would make it look awesome and also more eficcient, something like the boostedboiz twin turbo mr2

I was thinking the same thing, if he's going for 1000hp+ he'll probably be running a fair amount of boost, which will just blow those silicon couplers off, and I agree they look tacky and it'd look a lot cleaner with v-bands on them
I would flip the turbos, cold side facing forward and exhaust side facing backwards. That way you can manipulate the exhaust style better and it would be more effienct and would look great with the exhaust coming out on top like a 918 Spyder.

I'm imagining 2 sort of Carrera GT style bumps that surround each turbo and are angled forward with just the compressor wheel showing and the piping hidden behind.
Having the exhaust two inches from the silicone may lead to problems. Heat management is going to be a big problem. Wrapping the exhaust is not going to be enough.
@@1DVSB easy to heat wrap an exhaust, also with how short the exhaust is and how few bends. I doubt heat will be a massive issue there is also no muffler/resonator that would cause back pressure and further a heat issue

The turbo inlets will be in a low pressure area of the car, once he is at speed the air will literally have to do a 180 into the inlet and then another 180 through the exhaust. If he really plans on drag racing this car he will find out the hard way.... It'll be a good dyno car though lol
B is for Build - you could build an extension piece that clamps onto the exhaust ends and aims further back/down, just in case it rains while it’s out and about...

@@MuShinnen most of the datsun welds were done by oscar iirc. All his recent builds that are bs, like the gambler merc, the boat bmw, etc he does himself. The real builds, like the datsun and the lambo he has other people do the stuff properly (like painting the green lambo, welding the ls lambo and datsun)
Even without the turbos it would not sound like two inline 4 engines. The firing order and firing timing is different. Imagine, a inline 4 ignites at 1-3-4-2 evenly spaced 180° on the crank. LS do 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 unevenly. That's also why V8 sound kinda ruff compared to inline engines
Consider using Wellnuts on oil coolers & heat exchangers. Ez install in blind holes and rubber body provides vibration damping.The correct method would be rubber grommet with metal bushing in the mounting tab with bolt. Vibration from direct mounting fatigues the joints of the capillary tubes.

noxxi knox no it’s that the intake side is in the rear and that air at speed running over the cars body will cause a vacuum/low pressure area where the turbos intakes are basically sucking air out. Long story short he will be asking air moving at high speed to make a 180 degree turn into the turbos and air does not like to move that way.

I just wish the Texas Speed logos were more visible and not covered by pipes is all, that engine is a masterwork and the absolute heart of the build, it should be out and proud.
So the only thing I can recommend is looking into putting a cross at the ends of the pipes in case the turbine wheel comes shooting out in a hurry, and maybe a scatter shield behind the turbo between your head and a turbine wheel, IF it ever happens a little protection can't hurt

with everything else you've done under the hood, you choose silicone couplers? ETS can get you weld on Intercooler clamps like wiggens or vanjen.

The silicone couplers will flex, which is what he needs because the engine is on rubber mounts that will also flex.
MuShinnen these clamps are designed to withstand vibration, movement and be flexible.

@@rocketssss6 Considering the car's primary purpose is to be a show car at SEMA that would make sense. If you can't mentally handle how one car is built when none of your money, or time is being spent on it, you must be easily upset.
maybe do some cleetus style tractor flaps for the rain on those exhaust pipes

My theory is it's either an elaborate troll or he is going to build a scoop of some kind.

noxxi knox no it’s that the intake side is in the rear and that air at speed running over the cars body will cause a vacuum/low pressure area where the turbos intakes are basically sucking air out.
Long story short he will be asking air moving at high speed to make a 180 degree turn into the turbos and air does not like to move that way.

Chris you should look into getting those pipes ceramic coated. It will both help with the temperatures as well as give them a nice finish.
Love the most polite way to say to your fans basically I like the turbo placement and I’m keeping it that way lol, don’t mind the TH-cam engineers! As long as your building the car to how you vision the end is gonna be I’m gonna like it !

every video amazes me, imagination, insane fabrication skills and learning. the exhaust is awesome.
I just wish the Texas Speed logos were more visible and not covered by pipes is all, that engine is a masterwork and the absolute heart of the build, it should be out and proud.
why are the turbos setup with the exuast facing the front of the car?
I love the build but im afraid your underestimating the level of heatsoak with the exhaust and charge piping that close tho

So the only thing I can recommend is looking into putting a cross at the ends of the pipes in case the turbine wheel comes shooting out in a hurry, and maybe a scatter shield behind the turbo between your head and a turbine wheel, IF it ever happens a little protection can't hurt
