I wish these documentaries actually explained whats happening here. Its age regression. Some people do it voluntary, others like me its involuntary. I have cptsd and have big traumas from many ages so my regression ranges from 8 at the youngest to 16 at the oldest. Therapists do this with us sometimes. Its perfectly safe and healthy for someone with ptsd to do this.

The problematic part to me is that most people who have bad childhoods go to therapy and work it out somehow, get some emotional closure. By making his whole private life revolve arund it, he's accepted it and isn't intending to work it out. He'll never get closure this way, he let the childhood trauma define his life, he's never going to have a complete, normal, happy life.

First off mad respect for this man making almost everything himself, that's straight up talent. Next, I definitely think this is due to past trauma. A lot of people regress like this to cope with past trauma and mental health issue and stress in general and that's fine. However I believe he needs someone to help him get back on his feet my getting back in shape and looking better, more happy and possible a job in interior design since he is a master at it. Sometimes those stigmas form around things that aren't particularly harmful, but other times those stigmas are actually protecting from dangerous things. Things that cause more long term pain, like indulging in excessive escapism and never properly dealing with your issues, which can lead to depression, suicide, and many other consequences. There are a lot of people that insist they are happy doing what they're doing, but then kill themselves even though nothing is stopping them from doing what they want. Psychology is complicated and deep problems usually take a lot of work to resolve, not something you can buy or indulge your way out of. In some instances the people indulging spend or cost themselves thousands of dollars that they could be using on therapy or for other important things.

I'm not sure of Stanley's childhood and what happened, but it seems like he is struggling with being hurt as a child as an adult. First off mad respect for this man making almost everything himself, that's straight up talent. Next, I definitely think this is due to past trauma. He seems like he wasn't treated well as a child, especially since he has bed wetting issues it seems to be a lot more difficult. A lot of people regress like this to cope with past trauma and mental health issue and stress in general and that's fine. I'm not an expert - but when Stanley mentioned he started having bedwetting problems at age 13, the first thing I thought of was sexual abuse. I'm not sure of Stanley's childhood and what happened, but it seems like he is struggling with being hurt as a child as an adult. That, plus all of the age regression, makes me think that he is really just trying to cope with a painful childhood. Hope Stanley is getting the help he needs.

It is so beneficial in fact, that multiple therapists and psychologists recommend it if you are looking for better ways to cope.
