Mr. Mutyaba, you stated that 'Kabaka was the President'. Could you please enlighten the listeners as to how Mutesa was able to occupy two leadership positions: 1, as a king (kabaka) and 2, as a president, at the same time?
Obote & UPC reached a deal with Kabaka Mutesa to support his election to the presidency of Uganda. In a session of Parliament on 4th October 1963, Kabaka Muteesa was elected president via secret ballot with the support of over two thirds of the members. In 1964 this coalition collapsed due to the disagreements that arose between the two. On the other hand, the position of the Kabaka is acquired through a blood line, by the time the Kabaka became president he was already a king & he stayed king until his death. Contact me for any further details.
My understanding is that kingdoms do not run in tandem with Republic. A monarchy system is headed by a king who reigns over a kingdom, whereas a Republic is headed by a democratically elected President. So, based on my earlier question above, are you saying that Ugandan members of parliament secretly appointed Mutes to hold two leadership positions: a king and a president at the same time; making him the head of the Kingdom as well as the head of the Republic Uganda?
Kindly elaborate on the roles of the cultural leaders as President in relation to the role //office of the Prime Minister of the country Uganda with reference to the prevailing constitution of Uganda at the time.

chanjo4549 you have been fed with alot of lies that suites the interest of the people who were bend to destroy the country. What happened in 1966 was as a result of disrespect to the 1964 referendum which was a constitutional demand. The late Kabaka of Buganda Mutesa II plunged the country into the political turmoil we are experiencing to date. Unfortunately those who were presence at that time and withnessed the events right from 1964 chose to lie than tell the truth that Buganda king then was wrong. The alliance between Kabaka Yeka and UPC collapsed because Kabaka Mutesa II refused to acknowledge and respect the 1964 referendum. Instead it was late Dr Obote who was blamed just because the rest of the political elites who came from Buganda were the one who blamed Dr Obote. They even accused him of killing Baganda yet when the government of UPC was overthrown by Amin in 1971, the same Baganda failed to take Dr Obote to the court. Instead they (Baganda) elites, ran away from the lies they were puking around about Obote. Up to today the same people still lie that president Obote wanted to cling onto power. They even lied that the 1980 election was rigged. After the government of late Dr Obote was toppled in 1985, the same Baganda ran away from their lies of "1980 election was rigged." Later own they started talking about human right violation by late president Obote in 1980s again after 1985 coup not a single person from Buganda region dare to take the late president Obote to the court. Not even Museveni who was fighting in Luwero claiming Obote rigged the 1980 election. He could not take the late prsident Obote to the court. So there was no leader who wanted to cling to power especially Dr Obote. All the problem Uganda had was coming from Buganda politics which was, them and the rest of Ugandans.
Its unjust to say historically that Amin attacked de kabaka palace, rather he was ordered by Obote, who was then de Chief of Staff and Amin was a commander of UA, so Amin cldnt just take action without an order fro above. However, de truth was de police was first sent to arrest Kabaka who answered with fire arms, killing many police men, after 3 days of fighting, de police was pulled back and hence de army was ordered to move in Lubiri Palace which forced de Kabala out into exile, after which Obote declared Uganda as a republic which is up to date!
@@MutyabaConrad, the late president Obote was the leader of government. He was the one who received the instrument of power and had the responsibility to protect and defend the country.
