Well done, James. Fantastic series. Yes, please to more. You always present them so well. I was lucky to meet Milvena Dean, Eva Hart & Edith Haisman at the convention in Southampton. I took my son, who was only 4yrs at the time & have pictures of him with them. He is now 34 & barely remembers going. But I'm glad he did, as it's a story to tell for him as well. God Bless them all on the Titanic. RIP 🙏
I went to 2 exhibits about the ship. One was about the movie, costumes and props. The other was about the ship itself. All the items that were brought up, dishes, pieces of the ship, combs, wine bottle, etc. as you walked along, the tears started flowing. You could only imaging what those people went through that unfaithful night. It's so heartbreaking. At the beginning you were given a name to hold. At the end you could look up the name to see if that person lived. Mine was a boy who died in 3rd class, bringing more tears. I will never forget it. This video is also heartbreaking.
Hi James. I had a feeling you would some day visit the Titanic victims graves. Again a top class effort on putting this episode together. Many decades ago I purchased an original newspaper which had a front page heading which said" 77 bodies recovered from the Titanic. I had it framed then I later transferred it to an acid free folder. A few years ago I was gently taking it out of the folder when the whole paper crumbled in my hands. Should have left it alone. Just last week I purchased an original Titanic postcard which was mailed just 3 weeks after the sinking so I am waiting for it to come in the mail. Lesson learned.
I’m nobody special, but have been following the Titanic since elementary school when I read the first book about her. I love your videos and look forward to them. Keep showing me these places around the world to little me who will never get the opportunity.
I love love watching your videos like yourself I have been a titanic geek since a child and watching your videos always reinforces my love for an amazing ship and the story of that fateful night keep up the great work can’t wait for episode 11
This episode I found was very sad and poignant watch but also very informative and in my opinion one of the best episodes to date well done and thank you
I have enjoyed all of your videos, have learned so many new things about the Titanic story and I really appreciate the education. Thank you for all the research you do so as to reveal different aspects that we might not otherwise be told about.
It was wonderful to see my home again. I was born in Halifax and now live in Montreal. This was such a tragic story it broke my heart learning about it. Oddly though I have not been to the museum. I moved away before it was erected. Thank you for the memories.
I’m glad you liked the episode. Halifax is such a beautiful place. I wish I’d had more time to explore it more but alas, I’m sure I’ll be back soon. Canada is so awesome!
I live in Halifax Nova Scotia, I’ve Been There Many Times I Lay Flowers for them, it’s a heartfelt thing for Nova Scotia. To add on my grandfather was in the Macky-Bennett
I'm from Ireland and I would like to thank you for doing this it's a tribute to anyone who wasn't found and a tribute to those unfortunately are just numbers.
Literally! The first episode was filmed in my living room on a whim and now I’ve flown to Canada for it, it’s crazy. Thank you, I’m glad you like the channel.
I do not remember ever hearing anything about Nova Scotia!! This was a very enlightening and informative video!! The only thing I have seen was the titanic exhibit in Pegion (spelling) Forge Tn. That exhibit was amazing!! Thank you
I, too, have been interested in the Titanic as long as I can remember. I went to Halifax in 2003 and took a tour of the city which included all the Titanic sites. It was very moving. Watching your video brought it all back again. Thank you!
I have been to Fairview Cemetery roughly 10 years ago. It was very serene to walk among the graves. I remember seeing the graves of J. Dawson, and the unknown child. This is the 1st video of your series I have seen I will now make a point of watching the rest.
This is the first video of yours that has ever come up to me on TH-cam, and I must say it was quite well done. I'll be looking for your other video's. Respect from a fellow (45+ years, so it takes a LOT to impress me) TITANIC Historian.
Was in the new zealand navy and went to Halifax in 1993 wish I new as much about the titanic as I do now missed a great opportunity there with that looking back on life my grandfather was about 14 years old the titanic shank
If you want to tempt fate name the vessel unsinkable. Just saying! Did you get to the Pier 21 museum there is some things from the Titanic there as well. I am sure you will be back here some day.
In St Andrew's church Frimley Green Surrey in the U.K, there are several pieces of wood from the 1st class staircase. Also there's some floor tiles on the aisle that were left over from laying the cafe floors on the Titanic. One of my confirmation services was at this church. When I held one of the pieces of wood, I could feel the terror of that night, which is still contained within the fabric of the wood. I am a Titanic buff like you, and I'm a seer. I can hold something, and feel and see in my mind what that thing has experienced.
Sad that the videos in the beginning was rms olympic. They didn't get videos of titanic before her tragedy (only one existed and she wasn't completed) if they knew how popular and special tge videos would of im sure they would have filmed every square inch
Its funny to me now but i had never heard the story about the RMS Titanic until i moved to Canada, I was born not too far away from Southampton where the RMS Titanic left on her maiden voyage over 100 years ago. My Dad was a big Titanic person, much like yourself James. He told me about it and i took him to the same cemetery in Fairview when i saw my Dad turn into a little boy. He didn't say much and asked me questions about the Titanic, some of which i couldn't answer. My Dad passed away in 2019 the same year we lost our Mum. They had both come over to Canada many times since i moved out here and my husband and myself lived in Halifax for 19 years as he was in the military and then we moved to Ontario and we have lived here for 15 years, we moved here to be closer to my husbands parents. There are a couple of other cemetery's in Halifax one is in another cemetery there was one for Jewish people one for Roman Catholic people and the other was a mass grave all somewhere in Halifax. I have been in the Five fisherman and actually had a meal there once. I am with you i hate fish or lobster and coming from a maritime city to a maritime city you would think i would love fish. The steerage passengers were confined to below decks while the first class passengers would walk above deck on the promenade and smoke and sunbathe now there are no classes or so we think but there are still the us and them among people even to this day, sadly. Its just not an in your face kind of thing except on the airlines only now its called business class and what a difference it is, its like stepping in to another dimension. I think people are equal in death as they are in life but that is just me. I did some research of my own when i found the Fairview cemetery, I also took my Dad and my Mum to Peggy's Cove where flight 111 went down off the coast of Indian Cove, Not far away my Dad had a friend who lost his brother on that flight so my Dad said he will see if there is a memorial to the victims of that disaster also. There is a memorial and my Dad took pictures and back when everything was still printed instead of digital gave him a copy of the photos he took while i was showing them around he sent a message back saying his friend was thankful to me for doing that for him. Every visit my parents came out i took them to the places they knew about and to places they didn't know about. Compared to the UK and Europe Canada as big as she is is still a very young country this is my home now and as much as i will always be British, this is where my heart is and i love living out here, the summers are mostly hot and the winters are bloody cold but we are almost guaranteed a white Christmas i only remember two green Christmas's, i still remember the first snow fall it dumped 40 cm of snow over night, my hubby had a couple of friends over watching the football not English i think it was American football. Anyways living on Portsmouth i had never seen so much snow. i got my hat mittens and coat on and i heard about doing snow angel, so i had to try it well i was like a little kid my son was only 5 years old at the time i think and he had never seen that much snow before either so we were having a snow ball fight my son won of course and we were throwing snow in the air and i was like a little kid again we had so much fun outside that my hubby and his friends were watching us out of our living room window i felt like a numpty i can tell you but it was so much fun. I was known as the Crazy English lady after that. lol but so much fun Right? Anyways James i am glad i have found your channel i look forward to more videos but i have to play catch up to see what i have missed. I look forward to your next video. Yes, Fairview has that affect on you when you go there. I have been there more than once over the years i was there in Halifax its a sad story and now there are 5 more people down there, when the Titan Submersible imploded.
Wow I think I can crown you the winner for the most detailed comment thus far 😂. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories, it was a pleasure to read. I’m glad you enjoy the channel. Thank you for the comment 😁
According to the British museum in England where the titanic was built it had a large gap in the side of the ship long before it set sail over 100 years ago in Southampton so the fact it hit the iceberg 4 days after setting sail on its first and final voyage and sank it probably would have happened at some point but it's a what if scenario and its too late to speculate hello from Canada 🇨🇦
It was a mixtures of reasons. Not enough space on the ship to store bodies, the crew did not expect to find so many. The bodies of third class were also less likely to be claimed or identified than that of first. Some bodies were also badly deteriorated that there was little point in taking them back to shore.

Wow what a story to tell! Thank you for the comment
Thank you Sir, for a lovely and compassionate telling.
Thank you for the lovely comment. So pleased you liked it 😁
I recommend watching Titanic: The Aftermath for anyone who wants to learn more about Halifax and how they handled this tragedy.
Thank you for the recommendation - I'm always looking for new documentaries about this fascinating story.

Good video! I visit every April 15th :) Nice to see the recorder I left for Mr Hume still sits there!
Ooo I did wonder who may have left that. I was going to mention it in my episode but it slipped my mind.
Your documentaries are very professional and informative. Great to see.
I’m pleased you enjoy them 😁👍🏻

Aw no that’s a shame about the newspaper. I have an original myself which is framed and in my living room,
Placed carefully so no sunlight hits it.

I heard that there might be an immersive ‘virtual’ trip to the Titanic. A film crew conducted high-def filming.

The little child was eventually identified with dna from his little tooth. He had leather shoes on. His name was Charles.
why do they bury the other ones at sea? did they not have enough money to fit them all in the cemetery ?
It was a mixtures of reasons. Not enough space on the ship to store bodies, the crew did not expect to find so many.
