Back then there was at least variety. People will always pick what they enjoy. The difference is almost every game shown is a soulslike or roguelike. If someone before didn't like JRPGs they could play other genres. Now, you have to dig to find newer stuff that aren't soulslike or have roguelike elements.

This looks very mid for an UE5 game. It doesn't even come close to Lords of the Fallen and even Lies of P a UE4 game looks better. Enough with these mid soulslike clones! If you gonna do one at least do it properly like LotF and LoP
