      @TheRealMinipom ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I don't as the airflow path for this case is low front to high back but all the hot air of the GPU now needs to escape towards the top and cant escape through the end.

    • @mikep9418
      @mikep9418 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    • @ericcartman5722
      @ericcartman5722 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If GN take this case for a ride you will see you can lose 5-7ºC on your GPU for that silly covers

    • @TheRealMinipom
      @TheRealMinipom ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericcartman5722 That is a big doubt for me. 6-7K is the difference of no side panel, sometimes less. (not to speak of 6-7K from what? What's the baseline, which case, how many fans and where are they?) It doesn't even make sense when you think about the physics. You trap air down there which increases air resistance and therefore the sound of the fans. The decrease in temperature would be from the new fan itself, as the old case had bad airflow for the lower part of the case anyway. The slot covers will not help.

    • @WeirdTippy
      @WeirdTippy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikep9418 My gpu creates negative pressure at the rear of my case. Since my cpu temps don't go high enough to make the case fans spin up to counter the gpu pulling air from elsewhere.
      I decided to use tape to cover the holes on the back of the case so that this couldn't happen and while I realise I could've jut changed the pwm curve for the fans, my cpu temps rarely go above 50c when gaming or 70 with a full load so they're tuned to be quiet unless they go above 60c. My negative pressure issue from the gpu was fixed but with the case in this video, I wouldn't have that issue in the first place.
      For reference, I use the Gigabyte 6700XT with triple fans and it pulls a lot of air, even compared to my 140mm front case fans. Sometimes, negative pressure can't be avoided

    That's something I hate about so many cases, even expensive ones do this. They never give you room in the back. Like seriously, a few extra millimeters can go a long way to not get a bulge on your back panel and to not make it annoying to put on. I recently got a Dark Base 900 and it's a massive case, but even that doesn't leave enough room for cables in the back, especially S-ATA cables, S-ATA power specifically. Like, those cases already aren't super cheap, and the small amount of extra material to get a few extra millimeters of space for your cables isn't gonna make the case suddenly 50 dollars more expensive. Like why

    10:36 oh yesssss, probably because the mouse is on the right and having something giant on the right might feel constricting... also I just realized that majority of places I put my computer desk in, the wall was to the left, so putting a computer on the right was blocking the open side, creating a weird cubical feeling with wall to the left and a computer case on the right.
    One reason why it probably is always build for a right side placement is that that is where most computer desk put their bottom shelf for computers and likely because most people are right-handed, so expectation is that people use their right hand to turn on a PC... which I don't think matters to most people if they have to use left or right hand to turn a computer on.

    I, too, hate the EPS connector. Especially when the socket is positioned such that the retaining clips go on the inside edge instead of the outside edge. This is a real problem when they are put next to an oversized VRM heatsink and you are forced to use a flathead screwdriver to manipulate the clip when trying to remove the EPS connector.

  • @squibbies7015
    @squibbies7015 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This case is cool and all, but it doesn't offer much in the way of Storage Space due to the location of the angled fan so it only have 1 2.5" drive and 1 3.5" drive (that 3.5" drive space can also be used for a 2.5" drive). For a case that cost £110 in the UK that's fairly limiting it's cost.

    • @mikep9418
      @mikep9418 ปีที่แล้ว

      3.5" drive are getting a bit old fashioned now. Even 2.5" ssds aren't so popular with the low price of M.2 drives so I can see their point of view. I don't have any sata drive in my gaming system.

    • @fabrb26

      it can take ATX /EATX size motherboard who can get up to six M2 slot , not even mentioning the pci card that can add some more. Sata will die in the years to come anyway

    My PC is on the left too. So yeah, a reversed case would be cool.
    Also NZXT is one of those companies that has come a long way. I remember the first NZXT cases that I remember hitting the market were cheap shit that looked like a Gundam (which hey, that's cool if that's your thing). Then companies like Antec are I guess still around and OCZ are gone.

    • @Gatorade69
      @Gatorade69 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ELeCTriicChiiCKen No not the phantom. The phantom is even newer. I found it, the NZXT Nemesis from 2005. Check it out. They were pretty cheap, my friend bought one. I went with a Cooler Master as they were a better build quality but PC cases back then we're not near as good as they are today.
      Edit : I'm actually thinking of the 2003 NZXT Guardian. The Nemesis seems to be a better case. It's literally the first time I ever saw a NZXT product.
