Okay, but she didn't use the upper part of her eyes in this look at all so how does that apply? She only focused on the lower part of her eyes... Maybe you didn't actually watch the video and just commented? Seems like it. Not sure how this comment got so many likes because it doesn't make any sense. Plus, she doesn't have ACTUAL hooded eyes
@@monicapatton1405 shouldn't you have written a comment in the comment section and not a reply to this commenter? i appreciate SO much how you specify ways to do this look immediately if your hood comes down farther on the outer corner of your eye. most hooded eye tutorials completely ignore hoods that go down that far and it's been hellish trying to find eyeliner and eyeshadow tutorials that work.
SLAY. i’m very asian lol so i have super hooded eyes and it used to frustrate me so much that the usual way of doing eyeliner made my eyes look sooo small. ive been doing my eyeliner kinda lower like this for a few weeks now and i LOOVE it. and it’s also flattering on me when i draw the wing straight out instead of angled up :) thank u for all the hooded eye content lately alex 🙏
you're seriously one of my comfort youtubers, the way you approach stuff and go with the flow and the way you see "imperfections" like pores and hooded eyes as just features to work with is honestly so healing. thank you for teaching the techniques behind makeup, i always find it so fascinating to get insight to your process and trchmiques and to play around with them :)
As a newb and a gal that only does eye makeup like once a month, I appreciate this tutorial. I never like taking chances at wings because they seem so difficult BUT your tips on using eyeshadow/tiny brush/detailed steps, are helpful!
Literally how I’ve always intuitively done my liner when I wasn’t trying to copy trends. Love! 🔥 Perhaps random, but I’m longing for a video on different ways to use a pop of color in the inner corner. I see it on others and love it, but I think I need some inspo on how to make it work for me ✨
Colour correct any darkness or discolouration around the inner corner before foundation/concealer and use brightening eye drops too, so that whichever colour you use doesn't accentuate dark circles or yellowish eyeballs
omg i tried this as graphic liner on my sim and i was like “wonder how that would look irl cause she looks badass” so i tried it and it’s been my new go to for nights out but never knew why it worked so well for my eyeshape til now so thank you!!
I have pretty small hooded eyes and this. Is SUCH and easy and effective wing that creates a snatched and flattering look. Classy and simple. I love her videos bc she has such an attention to detail
I have lowkey tears as I’m so grateful for this! I just tried this and it worked!! This is the _only_ thing I’ve tried that’s worked for me. Thank you so, so, so, so much! ❤
I really like the emphasis on the lower lid, and the open inner corner. This reminds me also of your Valentines Day grungey look which had an open inner corner line. Awesome. Id love to see more lower lid-only ideas with a strong graphic element. ❤
This is exactly what I needed!!! Alex I love you 💓💓💓 very, very much! But, let's put that on the side for a moment , YOU ARE THE BEST MAKE UP ARTIST ON THE NET!!! I think I 'm allowed to say that because I watched them all!!! Alex, I am sending you a lot of kisses and good wishes from Serbia!!! Stay safe, stay blessed and stay THE BEST!❤
I was following along with the video and was unsure of how good it would look until the mascara application. That part really made the whole things come together for me. You're a genius!
Oh my gawd thank you. I’ve been watching videos on hooded eye liner for EVER And no one did it like this. I legit went and bought a tiny brush, came home and did the little swoop UNDER that fold then up.. MAGIC. And they’re also EVEN like WTF I’m so ecstatic thank you for this perfect trick to get around that dang fold that messes up everything haha THANK YOU!!!
I just found your videos a couple days ago. I'm nearing 40 and NEVER could wear makeup right. My skin always looked cracked, my eyes tiny and just...rough. I watched a couple of your videos for hooded eyes and it changed my life! I did a trial run today and my skin looked FLAWLESS. My husband was surprised (pleasantly) and my 6-year-old told me she wanted to be made up "beautiful like Mama" 🥲 So thank you so much.
Omg I love you and I love this, thank you so so much! Having hooded eyes, I end up feeling a little overwhelmed by eyeshadow application and making sure I don't end up looking worse. This however is similar to what I ended up doing (albeit muuuch better so thank you again) and it looks great!
Wow this is pretty much everything I've figured out in the last 12 years of trial and error by myself :o I find my eyes end up quite downturned and I've just kind of accepted it thinking there is nothing I can do but embrace it, but I will try that inner corner thing and see how it works for me! Thank you :)
thank u do much, very useful and cute! İ have hooded eyes and İ like watching asian makeup tutorials because their way of doing eyes flatters my eye shape
You know, there was a huge chunk of my 20s where I never did eye makeup because I felt it drew too much attention to what I considered to be a flaw, my hooded downturned eyes. I have left that mindset behind and it's surprising how often I am complimented on my eyes. I just tried this look, and I think I like it a lot. I can't wait to play around with the geometry/ lines and really make it my own.
I’ve been doing this shadow/liner shape recently (in a similar way than yours) and I find it easier to do than the bat-wing liner for my semi hooded eyes. Love both techniques anyway, but this looks sooo effortless and flattering that I can’t wait to wear this look again ❤ Looks amazing on you, thank you for the tutorial, I’ll add some of your tricks to spice up this eyelook ✨
Oooh i kinda discovered this technique on accident! I started doing this after getting tired of how "done up" or extreme (for me) other winged looks for hooded eyes were, ie doing big winged shadow to try and circumvent the lowest part of my hooded lids. I am not big on makeup but i love a winged look so when i figured this out while playing w pencil liner i was really happy. This paired with recently razoring the underside of my brows to be a bit thinner (thus visually higher) have done wonders for me as someone with very hooded eyes. It just lifts the face up and imo sorta "cancels out" doing this eyeliner comparatively lower than someone w more lidspace would put their liner.
Thank you, I’ll make sure to try it ❤️ My hoods have become even more prominent with age and it’s so difficult to find makeup styles that make my eyes pop and look cute, especially with my heavy brow bone. I used to feel like a child playing pretend with my makeup but you’ve made me feel so much more confident and informed.
I love this look, I'd also like to see some more looks for deep set eyes, or maybe even deep set and hooded. I do think this look works for deep set and or hooded eyes though and I can't wait to try it
just did it with neon green pencil (as i didn’t have a nude one) and added green mascara - looks cool! can’t believe there’s no eyeshadow on the upper lid. thank you Alexandra!!
Thank you for helping those of us with hooded eyes. This is simple and beautiful. I just love your videos. I have a video suggestion. I would love for you to do the makeup for someone with older skin. I have done my make up for so long (I modeled in the '80's and learned a lot from those days) but this skin that I have at 62 is much harder to work with. Especially doing eye make up. I don't want to just wear "age appropriate" looks but I do have to navigate older skin. How about a series on make up for the older ladies? (Edited for mistakes. oops)
So many hooded eye tutorials “open up the eyes” by brightening the inner corners but I also have wide set eyes so this just makes me look alien 🥲🥲 I love the outer part of this though gonna try fs 💚
Alexandra dearest.. I must say I really enjoy your very peaceful and educational content giving your probably one of the few makeup artists left on TH-cam who still creat very helpful tutorials.. great job and lovely look😍😍
I have a few events coming up and have been watching so many videos trying to work out how I can do my eyes without tonnes of shadow or crazy liner hacks. This is *chef’s kiss* 🤌🏻
This look also works without the white liner. Looks more smokey and less downturned on me. The key is having the line below your actual inner corner and voluminizing the outer upper lashes. Hiding the hood of your outer eyelid with lashes with the lower inner corner lifts the eye up drasticaly ... they really go like ↘️👄↙️ then.
Your so amazing at this. I wish I could have you look at me and do what you think looks the absolute best for my face and eyes. This makeup thing is difficult. 😅
Thanks for the tips! I will practice this on my hooded eyes.I struggle with individual falsies need to practice. Some how I also need to use my thousand eye shadow palettes on limited space, lol.
Thank you do much for doing videos like this for every eyeshape🤩I have recently been doing smokey eyeliner instead of sharp and its been working so much better for my hooded eyes😍
Would love a video for coming off the bold black eyeliner train. I’ve had the same routine since jr high and honestly feel like I look tired and gross without eyeliner. Maybe eye brightening with more of a natural look? Trying to get confident to change my look in my 30s and need help. 😅
I literally just finished doing my makeup, and when I got to my hooded eyes, I was like, 'fuck it', even though it felt like something was missing lol. But this is so perfect for someone like me. Thank you. 💜
Hmm!! I’ll have to try this. Also can we talk about how her face doesn’t have a filter 😍 I zoomed the video to see her making the liner and yesss pores 😭 love yah for that!!
I love all your eye tutorial videos. Can you do one with just cream eyeshadow. I've got cream pallettes, but I'm not sure if you can use the same techniques that you use with powder? X
First of all, you are STUNNING! More importantly, you are talented and helpful, so thank you for sharing your gifts! Question(s) for you… you have great hooded eye content, but what I’m looking for is makeup tips for those with hooded eyes AND who are glasses wearers! I can always find one or the other, but not both. :/ Another issue - I struggle with eye makeup a lot. So much so that in recent years I only wear it when I “need” to. My struggles come from eyes that water a lot (especially morning and night), and having super oily eyelids!! Waterproof mascara always raccoons. Shadow, eyelid tapes, liner, and of course mascara tend to slide right off most days!! So help with those issues would be nice, too! Thanks!!!
Thank you for continously helping us hooded eye peeps 😎
I’m here for ya 😘❤️
Thank you for doing looks for people who don’t have a football field’s worth of eyelid space. Your content is much appreciated! ILY ❤

Please please please do a tutorial on how to apply individual lashes ❤
cracking on that metaphor thank u that's made my day

So much hooded eye content lately! Love it!
love this!! i feel like i can actually pull this together in
It’s so fast! 🙌🏼
My eyes are getting "hoodier". I'm definitely trying this! Loved it

You have knocked it out the ballpark with this look! It is EVERYTHING for hooded eyes!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i have super hooded lids and this is the first tutorial that i feel a huge YES about. thank you!!!
Literally how I’ve always intuitively done my liner when I wasn’t trying to copy trends. Love! 🔥
Perhaps random, but I’m longing for a video on different ways to use a pop of color in the inner corner.

She has another video on hooded eyes that she uses inner colour for. “We need to talk about hooded eyes”
Luv watching your videos!! As a hooded eye woman in her 50'as and had to learn to adjust to my aging eyes...I thank u for some more tips!!🥰😊
omg i tried this as graphic liner on my sim and i was like “wonder how that would look irl cause she looks badass” so i tried it and it’s been my new go to for nights out but never knew why it worked so well for my eyeshape til now so thank you!!

You’re gorgeous doesn’t matter which makeup look it is - just flawless woman 😘
I've been complimented before for this exact look. It's a perfect option for people with big hooded eyes
You’ve officially given me a way to do wings without them looking crazy when I raise my eyebrows. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Your makeup advice for hooded eyes and contouring the face has changed my makeup game and my life
Loved this approach to creating a winged eye!
oooh I love how minimalist this look is!
I'm ready to cry with happiness, because my eyes are completely hooded and this video helped me a lot. The only useful makeup video in my life.
I am literally shocked right now. I will definitely be implementing this into my routine
I love this- it’s gorgeous on you Alex! ❤

the extending of the lash line going down first then going up is soooo smart! thank u so much alex 💕
Wow, this is a great technique especially with the nude eyeliner. I have small eyes, so I'm happy that this does not have a wing. I applaud 👏you!!!💚
This look is giving me "Cleopatra but delicate" vibes. Can't wait to try it on my slightly hooded eyes💜
Wow! Just when I feel I've seen every wing, something new to me. That's beautiful! Great video!

Maybe eye brightening with more of a natural look? Trying to get confident to change my look in my 30s and need help. 😅
Oh yes! I pretty much do this look all the time but with a big wing
wow beautiful...been waiting for something like this. love your silver hair too - i'm getting mine done in a couple of weeks
Thank you - I’ve hooded eyes that are migrating further south as I’m ageing.
Fabulous! Thank you. I'm gonna try this tomorrow. I even have that pallette (which I love).
My hooded eyes approve of this look 😂❤ you are full of tricks!! Love it
This looks so beautiful, love the simplicity. Thank you.
I will be delighted to see a hooded eye tutorial for someone without that much space between the brows and the lids
Ok now it’s official, I need this brush in my life❤
Truth 🙌🏼
Bless you for all of these hooded eye tutorials 🙌

Thank you, dear Alex! Your videos are very helpful 👍 Greetings from Crimea, Ukraine 💙💛 Much love from us to your wonderful channel ✨🥰
I love all your eye tutorial videos. Can you do one with just cream eyeshadow. I've got cream pallettes, but I'm not sure if you can use the same techniques that you use with powder? X
Hi Alex, very pretty look , I like the lining of eyes with eyeshadow as some eye liners do run , good idea . Thanks 👍 x

I love that inner corner liner. It's quite edgy. I might play with that tomorrow.
literally RIGHT in time when I was looking for an eyeliner video for hooded eyes. you are the best. how did you read my mind yesterday?
I am sincerely in love with this look I can’t wait to try it out
changing my life over here
LOVE THIS. Short, sweet, great inspiration
