    Sweet bro. Might as well throw some tie downs or rail on the lid so you can strap things to the top of it between the tent. Great project, when the white Ute getting a make over? 👌

    For Americans: Weight is roughly 1550 lbs. Which is super light. My full size camper weighs over 7,000 pounds.

    As a No5 trailer owner and user, I can say brakes and shocks are game changers. Please do both. I just used oem hilux shock out of the bin at my local peders dealer. They were pretty new at the time.

    As the owner of a 6 by 4 camper trailer, yours is good. I took a standard 6 by 4 trailer, had a canopy made for it, added King Quiky Rooftop tent and a set of 4 by 4 drawers. I have a 120 amp battery and 40 litres of water in 4 plastic cans. But I like yours. Happy camping. You never know, we just might meet up one day.

  • @peterbrooks562

    You have done a good job. After 20 years in the army I never rolled one. And they do float. I have rowed them down many a river. Strapped Jerry cans on the outside. We called them a 1 ton trailer. I also daisy chained 6 of them together. Well done

    Lol had to laugh as the weight for a un braked trailer is 0nly 750 agm (tare) weight. So if your trailer weighed 680kg witch is very heavy for such a small trailer . So by the time you filled your water tanks up plus minus 70kg you can't put more weight into her. Better put that beast of a girl on a strict diet lol. I recently built a 8x5 foot trailer and the sides is 450mm high and it only weighed 340kg. Good luck as it's a real pain to apply for a Vin number. Good luck.

    Nice effort mate , I probably would have went a different way with the hitch , I can see circumstances where that is going to drive you utterly nuts banging around.
    Longer draw bar does make them nicer too tow , I’ve built and rebuilt a few trailers over the years and all of them I extended the draw bar a tad , On my caravan too , my last trip with the big old rechassised caravan it towed like it was on a laser beam for 5000 K’s , I also replaced the old brakes with nice new hydraulic brakes , ( electric would have been nice too) , so much nicer to have good trailer brakes , did you end up fitting brakes ?

    I hate to be that person but the kings tourer RTT only weighs 60kg. It’s like just less than 10% the weight of the trailer.
    Edit: Now that I look at those figures that isn’t crazy. Sorry 😂

    Look at the 9 minute mark, specifically the arm on the steering wheel:
    Is it just me or do you have a terrible imbalance in your front wheels?
    Because its either that or the roads you drive on are much worse then roads of the poorest ex-soviet country...

  • @davidpaterson2643

    The tail light choice and placement is ridiculous for a purpose built offroad trailer! They are the lowest point and completely unprotected. 1st decent stepdown they are gone...

  • @088ben
    @088ben 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man that is not light that is heavy. The average 8x5 box trailer is around 200-250kg that’s way to heavy. You better go get heavier axle and brakes

    • @088ben
      @088ben 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you haven’t got enough ball weight it should have 10% of the total weight on the ball 680kg should be 68kg on the ball. If you have to much weight behind the axle it will start to sway down the high way

    because that's a landrover trailer it has a fixed lunette eye and the land rovers have a rotating pintle hook which is other way around to normal. normally you have a fixed pintle hook and a rotating lunette eye. the way you're setup both are fixed which won't be an issue unless you get the trailer on a steep enough side angle to bind the hitch, or worse case you roll the tralier and it tips the nissan as well or just breaks the trailer or tow bar.
