As someone who is most assuredly not Kevin Pereira, I can say with one-hundred percent certainty that he was #ROBBED in this episode. Also, Kevin is very generous and calls his mother often, he's the best. Kevin wins. Period.
Yes mr. NOT Kevin
Add this guy to Kappy's list.
That's actually a really good house rule. Keeps things more intense, makes the dragons move more as more people die. I'd call that house rule "Blood Lust".
This was one of the best tabletop episodes. This show gets a lot better with the simpler, light strategy games.
"I'm the patriot act and you guys are freedoms"
"Subtitle 'Grocery Store" and now I'm cracking up
Come back for another table top =D
***** Merely a "Thumbs up" is not enough. ;)
this show made me fall in love with fantasy board games
Tsuro of the Tseas, you tsay? That tsounds tsuperlative.
Tsufferin Tsuckertash
Please don't ever stop making Table Top. its by far one of my favorite web series. It's also helped me show and convince friends of mine to play more table top games. Live Long and Prosper!
I feel like this should be a TV show seriously it is that well done.
TEST YOUR SEA LEGS WITH #TABLETOP! Tsuro of the Seas: Kevin Pereira, Brendan Halloran, and Andy Hull join Wil on TableTop SE2E18
This week, ***** takes on Kevin Pereira, Brendan Halloran, and Andy Hull in TSURO OF THE SEAS, a follow-up to TSURO! Have you played this game before? What did you think?
Hey Geek & Sundry , can we get Kevin Pereira his own show? I'd watch that.
Blew the entire season 2 special effects budget on tourist cameras...
I think this episode rings every nerd sub-culture bell there is. Kevin Pereira is a hoot, as well. Great episode!
At 09:16 there are two grammatical errors. Wrong "there", and you used "less" when "fewer" was the correct word.
Jim Pekarek We hang our heads in shame for not catching that...
That was a great game!! Love Kevin, great guy and hilarious!! I hope he will come back for more Table Top episodes!!
I bought Tsuro because of your first table top, and when I found Tsuro of the Seas at a local con a few months ago I bought both it and its expansion pack right up!! This game is AMAZING and a great sibling to the original!~
Did not think this will happen for such a quick game, but I actually want the EXTENDED VERSION of this episode. You guys seemed like too much fun.
Me too. But it doesn't look like the full game was that much longer so I wonder why they cut it at all.
@17:58 When it turned out that Brendan rolled both dice to see the position of the dragon before he rolled for what dragon would come out, they still kept the position that was rolled, thus taking Wil out of the game. Yet when it happened the second time, with Andy, meaning he would have taken out his own ship with the position roll @20:21 he got to roll again and took Kevin's ship out instead. Now I understand that it was such a small thing that no one noticed it, but I still don't think that was fair. On a side note, this game does look like heaps of fun!
Star Light To be honest, there's little mistakes in a couple of videos. Some of them have huge ones though, but still.
It effected the whole out come of the game though. He wouldn't have won if he didn't get that re-roll.
Wil wasn't paying attention to which die was which, and that triggered the reroll. Its an unfortunate call that you don't like deciding games, but like sports, sometimes judgement call on these matters can determine the outcome.
I know most people wont care for this analogy, but its the Music City Miracle of Tabletop. Its an epic play that led to an epic outcome, but it shouldn't have counted if called properly.
Kiwi Kpopper Well, most heroes end up being saved by plotholes and some random bs, so it makes sense that the rules were bent to save andy
Kevin must come back for more episodes. He is awesome.
When Kevin said "put on some pants" I gasped and thought, "how did he know?"
There's no way I can play this now without thinking about Kevin Pereira's rant against 80's ship-action movies.
I'm reminded of that joke I heard as a kid: What do sea monsters eat? Fish and ships.
Kevin Perreira, Space Janitors, and Will Wheaton - what a cast!!!
The owl bear is the best running gag of this show!
Surely the Duke boys would just jump over the dragons (in slow motion).
I think the dragon drop being able to kill the boat it lands on is a terrible run of luck. Destroys strategy. There's no way to prepare for that. I'd House Rule that if the dragon lands on a boat, it's a re-roll.
Coward
"couch fluffer" Considering the history of that couch, that made me LOL.
Omfg the loser couch were Wil was talking to the lamp killed me.. "Thats very interesting, I was once a lamp as well."
Kevin! Does anyone else miss AotS as much as me? It was the last show I loyally watched on that television machine that still sits in my living room for some reason.
"Shhhhh dragons Mommy and Daddy are sippin in Vodka"
I think this is one of my favourite episodes solely for the funny and awesome interactions between everyone! Thanks for all the laughs :)
Been waiting for this episode, Kevin Pereira is honestly one of the coolest people
17:08 Khaleesi and the Dukes is my Mongolian Bluegrass Hordecore fusion band.
Deliciously Innocent Asian School Girls is my Barenaked Ladies cover band.
"Can't spell cowardice without dice!"
:D :D :D
9:17 "When their is less than 3 dragons" *face palm*
I don't know how interesting it is to watch, but I have never before thought that every piece of the game was beautiful. Man, those are some pretty looking dice!
Andy saying Khaleesi and the Dukes reminded me of the Elton John song Benny and the Jets.
Kevin is actually really awesome, hope he gets back on tabletop sometime. :)
A much welcome return to form! I love the look of this game, and the folks on this one are hilarious. Thanks for the show!
Tsuro was our first purchase based on watching Tabletop … and now I've got a crush on the new one. Well done, sir, well done.
All four of these guys could be in a sitcom together and it could work
Kevin Periera: I half expected him to say. "These school girls will have to spread their "sea legs"
Thanks for inviting Kevin onto the show. I've missed seeing him on TV!
1:48 Made me think of Christopher Walkenthtough.
Hope to see more of Kevin somewhere soon, the guy cracks me up. Guaranteed belly laughs everytime.
He does a podcast called Pointless with deathsquad you should check it out it's pretty entertaining.
You can't spell cowardice without dice!
New T-shirt incoming!
carlsiouxfalls yeah :) i want one
Thanks for this. Tsuro of the seas always catches my eye when i visit a games store so it was great to watch it in action with you guys
And Wil Wheaton as "The Balladeer". Perfect!
I know that chance plays a big role in most of these games, but here it seems overly so, since there really isn't anything you can do but move around and hope that a dragon doesn't land on your tile. Still, it could be fun if you need to quickly kill 15-20 minutes.
YES thank you for saving me of a boring evening :D
Oh my god, Kevin Pereira is hilarious! I nearly died when he described what his boat was carrying and what they were doing on it!
You got me Kevin. I have been watching this without any pants on.
I dispute the results! At 20:20, Andy rolled a 2:1 for the dragon's position (which would have eliminated his boat), but he did this before rolling 1D to decide which dragon would come out, and he was given a re-roll, which ended up eliminating Kevin's boat instead. HOWEVER, at 9:24, the first time they have to put a new dragon on the board, Will rolls the 5:1 BEFORE identifying which dragon comes out, and there is no re-roll. A precedent was established, therefore Andy should NOT have been allowed a re-roll and he should have been out at that point, and Kevin should have remained in the game! Quid quo pro!
Agree 100%, a precedent had been set and should have been followed, accept Andy's re-roll eliminated Brendan not Kevin.
DTofMN
Just watched again to confirm, sorry but you're mistaken. The yellow boat is Kevin Pereira's boat (Kevin's the guy sitting on Wil's left, viewer's far right. Brendan's the guy sitting to Wil's right, viewer's left-center). Brendan gets eliminated at 28:56 by Wil's roll.
Andy Hull
First off, great show. You were very funny here, and I love Space Janitors. Totally psyched to see it coming back for a 3rd season.
Secondly, I'm honored that you would reply to my little pedantic rant. Total class.
Thirdwise, fair point: when in the House of Wil, the word of Wil trumps precedent. I still do feel it was an unfair roll, but it was his error, not yours, and for the sake of the show, your "Heroe's Journey" made for a great through line, so I'm willing to accept the result (with an asterisk). (...not that anyone actually asked for my acceptance, of course)
Illusion-XIII My bad, sorry about that. I didn't have time to check and got thrown off by the times. Either way it puts an asterisk on the win.
I haven't play and board games since the 80s, and they were the standard Monopoly and whatnot. But after watch this show, and watching how enjoyable these games can be, I might have to try it.
get King of Tokyo or Ticket to Ride
Thank you Chile! Nice work Andy and Brendo.
29:05 "i was once a lamp as well"
they got kevin, alright this going to be a good episode. (Later in the episode) Kevin: "boat gots nothing but Japanese school girls." Yea, they certainly got kevin in this.
23:50 - Put on some pants? DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
Huge props to the crew for this ep. Production value has stepped up two or three notches. I mean, it has been great from the get go, but, well, you know what I mean.
That tentacle joke killed me.
It's a good house rule, Wil, no need to apologize/explain.
@9:16- Did I really just see a "WHEN THEIR IS LESS THAN 3 DRAGONS"??? Someone needs to turn in their geek card.
I was reading that and I had a distinct series of reactions.
1. "Their" instead of "there": Usually people make the opposite mistake, but not the worst or most surprising.
2. "Is" instead of "are": That's a big more serious, but now it's getting funny.
3. "Less" instead of "fewer": Ok, they're just messing with me, now, right?
4. "Than" is used correctly instead of putting "then": Aw, the streak ended. I was hoping they could set a record.
i forgot how much I love Kevin Perieira ... RIP OG Attack of The Show..
i laughed so much and so loud! VERY fun to watch!
you should do a special... get Felicia and Ryon Day to host an episode of TableTop (maybe make it a special episode with a 2-player game) and make Wil Wheton host an episode of Co-Optitude, with a gueststar
or have felica, ryon, wil, and either wil's wife or one of his sons.
This show already has ENTIRELY too much Felicia Day. If anything they should reshoot Last Night on Earth and Munchkin without her.
Eòghann Lamond
You can NEVER have too much Felicia Day.
+Eòghann Lamond
Too much Felicia Day?
That, sah, is a falsehood and punishable by being fired from a cannon into a barrel of cow dung
Does anyone know where to get the inch high (looking) blocks that the dragon tiles are on?
This episode was epic dude, I was cheering for the dude at the end, love it :D
Will winning is the best moments on Table Top. Sad there is so few... Love Table Top! Keep them coming!
I think the game was good when they played in back in Season 1, but in that episode they played 3 small mostly luck-based games, I know this edition is a bit more complex but still it seems like a quickie game you would play for 10-15 minutes and that's it.
Wish your team was able to setup a nice match of 2v2 Summoner Wars. I just don't know how you could adequately set up a camera view for that given that you would be playing across the table from each other. :-/ Regardless of that, I still enjoy the channel and please keep up the great work!
I second that!
you MUST have Kevin Pereira back on ... Best guest ever!!!
Congrats on winning your awards, Tabletop! Keep up the great work!
9:16 When "their" is less than 3 dragons?
You're right, it should be, "Win they're am less, then 3 dragon"
I miss Attack of the Show with Olivia and Kevin so god damn much.
So cool to see Kevin P on Camera again!
Hell yeah another Tabletop episode. Been waiting for a new one for a while now
This was sort of fun to watch, but the game concept of dragons entering messes it up a bit, and would ruin it to play. Player elimination is a sad necessity of some sorts of games, but when it can be really early and utterly random due to the dragons randomly coming on is an awful design element.
"In case you end up in an infinite loop, you also lose"
I don't think it's possible to get into a loop, correct me if I'm wrong
it's possible because the dragons eat tiles
hens0w ah okay, thanks (I wrote the commen before watching the whole episode and stopped somewhere in between :'D )
We've played this game all year. Everyone loves it!
Yeeeeah we need these guys on every single episode. They are beyond funny
Shoutout to Kevin for speaking the truth about the Patriot Act!
-Slick the Mick, The Official MANcast
They need to do The Resistance again omf that was a great one had me on edge the entire time "OMFG NO STOP DON'T GET IT RIGHT GO SPIES GO GO FOGMFOGMF"
I want that game so badly!
Cc Cro It's actually the one game that you can play without the actual game. The rules are really simple, all you have to do is print up a few cards.
jernej tojersu I actually never though of that! it's not like it's monopoly or something! thanky ou dear sir
No problem, have fun. :) Allthough I would like to say that if you can, support the people that came up with it, you know, when you can, have the money, etc... :)
jernej tojersu I want to but i don't have any source if income, and those on ebay are really expensive, but otherwise I would buy it imediatly!
That game was super hype, that victory was well deserved and that first death was classic. Great episode!
Something tells me the "not being able to count properly" has saved Kevin's life more than just a few dozen times in his life..
Loved the fake credits :)
What's with the track jumping? Jump to another route rather than hit the dragon?
I miss this show :(
"Very interesting, i was once a lamp myself..." XD
Anyone else notice the Green path is not aligned with the board at all?
IT WAS BUGGING THE HECK OUT OF ME.
Yeah, what's up with that?
Neither is brown. He took a wrong turn on his 4th tile, visible at 17:14. Brown takes a path that's not on the tile on his 4th tile. Maybe he's a pirate?
CHEEEAT.
But hey, good hero story. Maybe he got blown off course by a huge storm made by a dragon.
Isn't that because the water tiles are removed when the dragons move over them? Then new tiles are placed where the old ones were making a new path?
"I'm gonna eat you" "out" 25:57
After I watched this I bought it for so I could play with my nephew when I go to visit. They loved it and we played over 4 or 5 games the last time I visited them. Each time we play we have to name our ships and describe what the cargo is we are carrying. Its a blast.
This episode was one of the best yet.
I don't mind house rules, in fact I encourage them.
The game of Sequence I play with my friends has so many house rules you wouldn't recognize it.
House rules are great. They make games better.
The only problem as I see it: If you are using house rules then the game is inherently flawed to begin with. When I see a board game being played with house rules it tells me the game isn't fun on its own and thus I shouldn't buy it.
CrimsenOverlord I disagree. I do think that house rules can make games better, but just because someone uses them doesn't mean that the game has an inherent flaw in it. House rules are used to augment games towards specific people's ideas of fun. There is no way to create a game that everyone will consider perfect, and so house rules are a way to change a pre-made set of rules to fit *yourself* better, not to make the *game* itself better.
I am sure that there are plenty of people who think that using Wil's house rules make the game less interesting (although personally I like the idea). Its all a matter of preference.
House rules is like modding a video game, it doesn't mean the game isn't fun, it just means that you want to improve it.
mursie100
I can never understand why people bleat about daft or unclear rules in a game and NOT make a decision to use agreed house rules to replace them
'When their is less than 3 dragons......'
/sigh
Loved it! I just wish you wouldn't have cut off Lamp's Interview, though...I bet Lamp had some really brilliant things to say.
I miss seeing Kevin Pereira around. I loved Attack of the Show.
Kevin is basically Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. From the looks, through having a ship filled with Japanese schoolgirls doing a porno, to having a plan and the world around him crushing all his hopes and schemes.
Meanwhile, Wil with his dice rolling duties is clearly stuck with the Charlie work.
Andy stared down a fucking dragon, I think we all know who that makes him.
Brendan needs no explanation, though let's just say he'd probably like to fly with the dragons. Cuz he looks like a bird.
No doot a boot it, them dragons took oot the hosers first, eh xD
Table top fan `eh? oh hellz yeah!
***** Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah xD
This episode has Game Grumps levels of "GET OUTTA HERE!"
29:04 "That's very interesting. I was once a lamp as well" (; hahaha
Andy is the Dovahkiin
"When their is less than 3..."
Should be
"Where there are fewer than 3..."
One of the Best episodes ever...Brendan and Andy are the best...GO CANADA!
Love it! Awesome game with awesome guests! :D
