    I don`t know what the instructions say but I would not had inflated until the truck was down because the friction the rubber bags filled will rub against the springs or prevent any pinching or over pressure before the load is on ... first lower the truck normally ,then add air as needed ... that`s how I did it and still good 15 years later.

    Just an FYI. For anyone thinking of getting this kit. I bought one for a 2014 Ram. And it worked great for 2 years. then the rust forming on the coil springs rubbed a hole in one of the bags causing it to fail. now airlift replaced the bag for free. They have excellent customer service. But this is a problem that is going to happen again. We are switching to the airlift 5000 which is not affected by the coil springs.

    Important: No one told me I had to lift the front end at least 2.5 inches at the lower strut or 3 inches at the top as I ended up doing. I'm running pressure at 22 lbs to level my truck. if I had used maybe a 2.5-inch lift I could balance truck level at 10 lbs. Forget about 5 lbs riding without weight. my truck 2008 Sierra 1500 4 wd 4.8 crew cab short box. make sure the lines are equal in length if you are running dual lines. or the one side pumps up faster with the shortest line. coil it up if it's extra, make them equal lentgh good suggestion. Best to yous

  • @underourrock
    @underourrock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't trust rubbery plastic lines to last a long time with the desert heat over here. How much is your time worth to have to remake an end when it leaks? Would a set of stainless steel lines be pretty cheap insurance?
    I'm VERY thankful you shared this video. Thank you. Very well done. Thank your crew, too. It's awesome having a helpful neighbor as well.

    • @notoriousking4782
      @notoriousking4782 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@the_atomic_punk487 yeah first time doing this, there is a lot of steps, remove the spare tire, remove wheel well covers, trying to squeeze the bags in between the springs takes the longest, running air lines etc. I could have maybe used some kind of lubricant on the outside of the bags, they may of helped things go faster? Ultimately I’m glad I did it, it took away the sag on the bed and now my truck sits straight with a fully loaded 7000+ lb trailer. I have the ram quad cab 1500 v8 5’7” box.

    EXACT same thing happened with my install! Bad thing is...I ordered another set because I didn't want to deal with what I "thought" would be a bad experience with trying to explain and exchange the torn bag for a new one. I assumed that we did something wrong during the install to cause it to burst. Anyways, the benefit of the bags definitely outweigh the double expense I incurred. Great video tutorial!

    Please test the air connections before you try to install. Mine leaked at the brass fitting insert that goes into the plastic end cap (yup they are plastic if you order them thru any online retailer). That cannot be repaired and I doubt you’d see any bubbles if you sprayed a soapy solution when installed. Called the company and they want you to submit an online request. They are not willing to overnight a replacement to a brand new defective part. Their warranty on a brand new product is too slow if you are planing a time to do the install. Makes me wonder what would happen if you’re on the road and there is a warranty issue. Ah sir, go on line and submit a request, while your truck suspension is out of service? Be aware.
