Here is something I do and it really helps with the debubbling. If you put a little of your liquid in the bottom of the jar it will start filling in the air bubbles on its own.
I just purchased this scanner from Amazon and I found your video to be perfect. I also ordered the book that you used and I’m excited to start some new recipes with. Now I’m onto your canning beef stroganoff in French onion soup. Thank you so much Marta.
That’s great! I think you’re going to love it. I’ve been grateful to be able to preserve things beyond the fruits/jams/pickles of water bath canning. Best of luck.
You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy pressure canning. For me, it was so nice to venture beyond things like jellies and applesauce (though I love those, too) and be able to put sustenance on the pantry shelf.
This is the first time I have seen your channel. I really enjoyed watching!! New subscriber! I just ordered the new Ball canning book. Excited to try these when my book arrives in about a week.
I like that video and I don’t blame you for measuring because my OCD kind of makes me need to measure it when it calls for like a pound of something it just makes it easier
It depends on what you consider a serving and how you eat it (served over rice, pasta, etc.). Each jar is a quart, so you could consider it four servings of each person eats a cup.
Their “best by” date (for optimal flavor and nutrition) is 12-18 months, but the food is safe to eat as long as it maintains its seal, which could last for years.
Those canners look suspiciously like instapots but the price is good...have you had them long? The stovetop canner i was looking at is like 550 bucks which is a bit much but thats 20Q
Yes, they also function as pressure cookers, so that’s why they look instant pots. I’ve had them for about 2 years. Their capacity is definitely smaller than your typical stove-top canner, but I like that they don’t need to be monitored as closely (in terms of making sure the appropriate temp and pressure are maintained). I think each has its advantages and it all comes down to what you want most out of your canner. Hope that helps!
I get that! I’m not really a raisin person, but they were softened so much by the canning process, I almost didn’t notice them. I was surprised, too, that my kids liked this. I’ll make it again.
I didn't notice a bitterness when we ate this. I can see why that would be a concern, though--so many herbs take on a bitter flavor when they're cooked too long.
Thank you for the video. No offense intended, but would you please store your blue cast iron Dutch oven on a lower shelf! I could just see the, heavy, lid of it sliding off the top and hitting you on your head when you try to take it down. 😳

I’ve never heard that. That makes sense. Thank you!
@@Locally_Raised You're welcome.
Thank you so much! We don’t have much storage space so this small-scale canning video is super helpful! ❤❤❤
Glad it was helpful! Happy canning 😊

Ok I’ll have to give it a try! I do love the chicken and gravy. I usually sub carrots for the potatoes and serve it over mash potatoes
I like that one, too. It’s pretty great to be able to whip up some from-scratch comfort food in just a few minutes.
I loved these instructions! Thanks, my husband I can together this will be a new experience for us!
I love that you can together; that’s sweet! And efficient. Best of luck 😊

Loved your video
So glad! Thanks 😊
Love your video! I have had my Nesco for a year and love it! Anxious to make these recipes.
We tore through these meals! I need to make some more now. Happy canning 😊
Can you add veggies to the beef meal.
These recipes have been tested for safety. I wouldn’t add veggies. Sorry.
How many servings per jar

how long do they last on shelf ?

@Locally_Raised thx for the feedback, they seem robust enough for me to try and at 100 bucks you can't beat it
@@T0tenkampf Best of luck!
How was the curry? I’m not sure about the raisins….

I heard that sage gets bitter When pressure canning

Ha, that would be tragic. I have limited storage space, so I’ll probably stick with this system, but thanks for watching out for me.
Wonderful video! Thanks so much for doing it. I'm going to have to watch a couple times because it's so full if useful information to me!❤
I would lose the potatoes in the meals in a jar if they are too full. You can always can potatoes separately and add when reheating.
I actually just canned some potatoes a few weeks ago, so that would work perfectly. Good call!
