A couple of years ago, I started canning meals instead of individual ingredients. My husband and I don’t eat as much anymore so this is much easier for us.
@@foodprepguidehamburger meat and inexpensive beef cuts and turkey but not ground just whole turkey you buy frozen. I’m stumped! I absolutely am SO glad you did this. I thawed out boneless thighs and today was trying to figure out what type of meal in qt jar to do and here you are. Groc tonight and will do what you have done tomorrow Lord willing. I really MUST HEAR what you thought as you try them even if it’s a one liner comment of whether you’d do again and what you’d do differently. Ty from the bottom of my heart. Looks great 😸 Just a little hint....a permanent marker will not wash off when pressure canning. I usually write on the lid before putting them in the canner so I don't get things mixed up once things are done.
Another tip is to put a couple tablespoons on white vinegar in the canner water. It keep your jars from coming out with cloudy mineral residue on them. Also, dip your paper towel or cloth in white vinegar before wiping jar rims. The vinegar cuts any grease whereas water does not.
More meals in jars Please!! And I love the one jar format because it allows you to scale up as you see fit. If I'm going to the trouble of investing, thawing, prepping, canning, cleaning up....I love having an almost complete meal in the jar. I still ingredient can, but dinner in 15 minutes is absolutely worth a day or 2 of canning! It also keeps my family away from restaurants and fast food.
Totally agree! ❤️ Originally, I didn't even think about how convenient the one-jar format was as I was just wanting to test multiple recipes in one canner load, but you're right ... I love how easy it will be to scale!

❤ Loved this video. Really easy to follow. Just set my 7 quart jars in the pressure canner. My kids couldn't make it to the east coast so I'm having a fantastic canning Thanksgiving day.
After going through the process of pressure cooker you don’t have to cook them. Everything is already cooked. You eat it right out of the jar or you dump it into a pot and warm it up do whatever you want to after you can it .
Thank you for sharing safe canning practices. I get frustrated with “rebel canners” on the internet. These meals in a jar are so convenient!!! I love how you’re trying a small batch of each recipe first. Great, great ideas.

These are great recipes and wonderful ideas for Meals in a Jar. I live alone. Could I do these in pint jars? I have a Presto Digital Canner that I haven’t used yet, but you make it look so easy. Thanks for everything you do to make your videos.
Thank you so much for these! I am so excited to try. How will you remember which is which meal once they come out of the canner? If you had time, I would love to see you do these meals with raw chicken.
Awesome selection of meals to can! I am looking forward to trying them. I like the idea of using the pickled peppers. I think it will add some great flavor.
What a wonderful way to make those meals. That way you don't have so many of one kind but you can experiment which ones of which you want to have more. Thank you!!

I just made salsa verde and look forward to trying the chicken verde. But parsley is NO substitute for cilantro. The flavor profile is not the same at all.
We're "making do with what we have." So I subbed parsley as I always do ... except for when I need it for tacos and pico de gallo lol. I've found that it works in canning recipes though.
If you use raw chicken, do you need to adjust how much broth you use to fill the jars? As the chicken cooks, does it produce its own juice which would add to what you already have in the jar? Thank for these wonderful meal ideas.
